If this page is listed as good for farming the page should list what kinda farming its good for. --GigaClon 19:46, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

A comment that can be applied to most of the quests flagged as "good for farming" :p
One imagines that in this case, it's in reference to the gold & exp rewards, however I'm not sure how you farm them given the quest isn't repeatable... --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 20:11, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
Removed the note. You can repeat the quest by abandoning it once it lists itself as completed. However I wouldn't call this quest useful for farming , it is way too hard for that. Maybe it can be useful after somebody makes a special farm (team-)build for this. Waar Kijk Je NaarUser Waar Kijk Je Naar sig.png 06:18, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
Difficulty needs adjustment. I can't freakin beat it. Worst part is, no one else seems to be doing this mission. (edit: Beat it, still way to hard though. Needs adjustment) Maximillian Greil 10:29, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
Yeah it did seem kinda ridiculous that a single am fah ele could pretty much nuke the group. When I finally succeeded I was tanking most of the foes on the map while the npc + heroes slowly nuked stuff that was running to them.. could do with more time between mob spawns just like with When Kappa Attack (Hard mode) :/ --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 07:51, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
Retardedly difficult. There's nowhere you can go to be safe, the waves continue irrespective of whether or not you've finished them off, and EVERY F&%$ING GROUP HAS AN ELE WITH SAVANNAH F@*&ING HEAT! Slypher 01:58, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
I think you can make it eassier by hidding in the corner near the gate that leads to 'kainang docks'. So the groups that are coming from the gate that leads to 'Wajjun Bazaar' won't be agroed. I tried it several times and it works until a certain moment. I don't know why, but at a certain moment, the mob groups that are way out of my agro field become agroed :s I'm now trieng to use traps at the spawns...
2 Panic Mesmers(Hero, and me) got me throught it hiding near the kaineng docks gate. 82.161.39.143 20:44, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Need help going with derv and just heroes, double panic doesn't work because standing in the place that everyone says is good ends up aggroing more than they can handle. I tried to switch to stairs afterwards where they ball up very nicely but still manage to kill me+heroes. I tried to tank them and it works fine with D/A just no way to deal damage that way :/ . 95.180.84.110 02:58, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Strategy[edit]

There are some decent strategies for HM completion on the NM page should we move them here? What worked for me was Well of power/minion nec (with veratas Aura microed), panic and PI mes, 2 SH nukers (one with ward vs ele), WoH/ER combo and me as a generic tank (stance ranger). I quickly killed the boss and ran to the spawn point at the top of the stairs (avoiding the first spawn from there by going around south) I flagged my heros back to the portal at the top of the stairs and fought from there, trying not to pull more than 2 groups at a time. Almost wiped once, good idea to bring res on everyone. It helped greatly that I was able to tank the eles spells at the bottom of the stairs to keep pressure off my group. The Alice 16:54, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Pull groups? The second you get attacked, everything aggros <_> 76.88.127.158 00:44, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

So after like 4 hours of playing with different strats and builds i finally beat it, no cons used. Ended up using 3 nrco discord way, a WoH monk, 2 savannah heat eles, a panic mes, and me as a 100b "tank". Pulled the boss to the docks portal, killed him quick then moved a little further back. The group that spawns at the bosses location got to me and we killed about 2/3 of the group. Thats when the second group at the third portal spawned. After they left their spawn i moved my heros as far in to it as i could, then pulled the melee together at the bottom by blocking them at the corner. Used pain inverter on the enemy eles and they would die in 1 cast. Took me about 4 tries to get it to work but finally got it done. Ended up using 1 armor of salvation after getting my group into the spawn location cause i made it there without any of them dieing. Hope this helps someone, good luck.107.5.201.217 10:45, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

I actually just completed this with discord today (even after the change to HM health). I used the three typical discord, me (R/A ap caller w/pet), two panic mes, one healing burst monk, one ua monk. I removed all their staves to avoid the mesmer AEs and ran to the stairs after murdering the named as quickly as possible. I had to micro the necros spirits, their minions, and my pet at the beginning to avoid pulling extra. Thanks to the person who suggested discord... just went I thought I had gotten away from it for good. :p - Kilaelya 21:20, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Just completed! I killed the first boss and then ran back to the southwest corner at the top of the stairs, where the next spawn appears. I needed to bring a speed buff skill to get their before the spawn. While on the top of the stairs I could kill the spawning group and then recharge with no aggro. Then I drew the remaining groups. The last group I had to come down the stairs and kill which triggers a another spawn at the same location that was just vacated. Then I took my time to finish the quest. At first I was going to pull my hair because it seemed that I couldn't get away from the aggro. As mentioned before, I needed to bring a speed buff.--Gungraave 06:25, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

As of early 2022: See the Hard Mode section below.

LOL[edit]

This is kind of fucking nuts...but I beat the quest in about 20 minutes. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/269/trackingcorruption.jpg/

The last 4 heroes are optional, and are used to clear out a stray ranger or caster at the end (first attempt at this quest the boss was left over, but I had no other heroes with me X_x). The basic idea is to get any meleers on you, and you need to CONSTANTLY have Visage up so you wont get dazed. Mantra of resolve was totally useless, pay no attention to it. Once everything is all balled up nice and tight, have your hero hit famine, and watch everything die momentarily (they didn't even scatter for me). The only thing you have to watch out for is if Xan Hei kills the MELEER'S with Roj (this never happened to me but I can imagine it's possible). If he does cast on them, then you have to pull them out quickly. Remember that they're you're source of e-denial. The best case scenario is if everything is balled up and, out of energy, near death, and then Xan Hei casts a Roj, finishing the group off. Even better would be if meeler's survived, but this setup worked with just a sin and war on me towards the end. I would imagine that you'd need to restart though if all of the meelers died before a new wave began.

As for the builds for the bonders...Ogden had 12+3+1 prot, Dunkoro had heal runes on. To remove some confusion, Dunkoro was maintaining BS on himself and my character, Ogden was maintaining BS on himself. Lastly, when casting the bonds, cast Dunkoro's Protective bond, then his life bond, then Ogden's Protective Bond, then his Life Barrier, then his Life bond. IN THAT ORDER. Everything else should be obvious. Oh I didn't use watchful healing either.

Remember: Put up your first visage AS SOON AS YOU'RE ATTACKED BY THE BOSS AND KEEP MAINTAINING IT THROUGHOUT. Make sure your heroes are flagged out of any aggro range too (see mine).76.88.127.158 08:13, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

In case anyone ever wonders later what the build codes for those are in the screens, here are some similar ones used to good effect ( /age = 6 minutes at end )
Human Famine: OggjYxYc4QlPQHDg+gyG+GXM/aA Tank: OwVjEwf84Q8IHQ6MEQLiiAeQ4OA Life Barrier Hero: OwAS8YIPOkrfAxicXDJxjUC Martyr Hero: OwAS0YIPqkp/Ghu6SkIyDRC
There are additional skills on the famine and the martyr is a good idea because you can remove daze while running between portals at the start.
Directions for use:
  • Use all 6 Bonds on the tank, and balthazar's spirit additionally on the Life Barrier hero.
  • Talk to two npcs and choose the wrong answer, then put everyone cept the tank by the npc Pan. Tank stands on steps at by wajjun bazaar portal - uses all perma enchs cept SF.
  • Human at Pan chooses wrong answer, and after a line of dialogue from Xan Hei and a line of dialogue from the sin boss, tank uses SF - from this point chain Visages to be covered at all times.
    • Famine pulls the sin boss, and then must keep pinging a random target for duration of quest to stop Xan Hei running in to smite the am fah and disrupt the ball
    • Tank runs from Wajjun -> Bukdek portal -> wajjun --> bukdek, then pull all the foes to the open area near the Kaineng docks portal.
  • Ball everything. Famine ranger moves spirits into range, keeps pinging targets for xan hei to follow. Am fah all die.
  • Another two groups of am fah will spawn, head for the one nr Bazaar first, then get the bukdek group.
  • Ball them, kill with famine. Use team to kill stragglers.
Obviously if you get dazed it means you're not chaining visages/not enough melee foes, so use Martyr about 5 seconds before SF.--File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 21:25, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks a lot from Germany!!! I tried to beat this quest since 4 days and nearly got frustrated... IMO this one is ridicously hard in HM if you don't know how to do it. I did this one without cons with my human war + heroes and I was very happy to get a challenge but i've changed my opinion more and more after each day seeing myself failing. I used the heroes like u wrote it and well it was kinda hard cause my poor brain had to make use of heavy multitasking o_O. It's hard to play with a hero tank and micro his skills and use them while u have to ball some scattered groups to a single one. Additionally you have to watch out to not aggro anything with your mainteam and you also have to place your famine correctly :P. Well i want to thank you again cause i still would try to finish this one today.
Plz excuse my english i tried my best but i think you'll understand it.
PS: You are my hero :D 95.114.204.69 23:51, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Lol, just tried R/A with whirling defenses - worked like a charm, except for the bit where xan hei put a roj on them and screwed aggro twice :P --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 13:56, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I should note that there is a very high chance of being dazed while balling the first 4 mobs, and due to nabs not pinging foes they may find its quicker to blitz it with no wands/staves + panic. Has anyone managed to beat this beast in HM? Having some rather high difficulty with this, what with all the swarming mobs pouring in, and every enemy having a self heal or two. 174.108.82.105 02:07, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Took me many tries, but I FINALLY beat this quest in HM! They really should stagger the mobs more, totally ridiculous. http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/228/gw132b.jpg --Yojimaru 05:16, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

After you killed the first boss NPC, retreat completely north and flag your heroes between portal and position shown on screenshot. Wait until the first group leave, then flag your heroes like on screenshot. From there, it takes about 3-5 attempts maximum to get the correct pull of each group. [position: http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/228/gw132b.jpg ] (credit: Yojimaru). For the build, it seems that any duo Panic, will do: http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/7920/wocsolobig.jpg DeoX 20:45, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

This in HM is an exercise in frustration. Finally beat this in hm with heroes after 10 tries. Here are some tips to help others get through. There are 2 mob spawn points in this quest: the portal where the Boss comes from and the portal at the top of the stairs. The spawns go like this: first the boss, then the first group at the stairs which head straight up, then boss portal spawns a group that heads straight down, then the stair portal's 2nd group, then the boss portal's 2nd group. Then they all mill around at both of the pavilion platforms. The spawns stop at this point until you defeat one pair of these groups i.e. defeat the 2 groups from the boss portal and a 3rd final group will come from there and vice versa. So 3 groups in all come from the 2 spawn portals for a total of 6 groups. What worked for me was after killing the boss, I headed straight for the stairs portal (after the frist group moved off) and killed the 2nd group that spawns there . FYI, it is a bit tricky to stay at the top of the stairs and fight and defeat this group without accidentally aggroing the huge center mob but it is possible. I was an sos Rit so I precast a set of spirits at the portal horizontal to this stairs, then another set to help kill the Boss before triggering the start (the spirits are far enough apart). Then you can just run to the top of the stairs and bring the untouched set of spirits after the boss is dead. At this point the 2 groups from the boss portal will have gathered in the pavilion. It was impossible to separately pull this huge group for me and they came for me just as I finished off the stairs group. Luckily they bunched at the bottom of the stairs and I was able to kill them, took a res scroll and a whole lotta prayers, but managed to beat them. Then I just stayed by the stairs for the 3rd group from the boss portal to come. Easier this time since only 1 group. Killed them then headed for that first stairs group, killed them, then waited for the last group to show. I used 2 panic mesmers and a well of power/blood necro to counter the aoe eles and energy denial am fahs (rotten chaos storms everywhere). Hope this makes sense. (Penny 00:34, 22 July 2011 (UTC))

After trying lots of the builds suggested here for HM, I came up with a solution of my own: Trappers. Three trappers (spike, flame, dust, pierce) can trap an area and take out a whole group as it spawns. With careful placement, you can take out the whole first NE group and half the SW group when they spawn, and a lot of the next NE group if you head east (towards the docks) and set up more traps. Other things that helped: me as W/D SY scythe, 2x rits (SoS, ST), and a Gaki summon. Summit Axe.png St Lucretia 11:51, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
This quest is retardedly hard....id love to see some of the devs doing it just so i could lol at them. Ive tried every method, trapping....doesnt work, double panic....doesnt work. If the fucking monks from the other groups wouldnt aggro to heal the parties im killing i would be fine, but after killing 1 group and starting on a second the monks from both the other 2 groups aggro and looky that....im dead....again. Either reduce the spawns that come, make it so the monks dont aggro the other groups, or lengthen the time between spawns. otherwise this quest is just a complete joke.
So yeah, 60+ mobs in under 2mins, tried the builds suggested and strats....none work. Tips or help would be nice.
Why is that sometimes i have 3 groups spawn in each spot, other times i have 2, and others i have 4? Everytime i get close to killing them all another 2 groups spawn and wipe me, other times ill send my group in to die, then after the second group spawns run into their spawn and afk.....I can come back an hour later and im still alive, meaning the second group was the last...wtf? 107.5.201.217 09:22, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
(Moving note: I've moved this discussion to a more appropriate place, and as a result, there is a strategy right above you. and I know it works. ) File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 09:40, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

What worked for me and seemed to make it a lot easier (meaning I got it once I did this). A lot of the challenge in doing this with heroes comes from the huge amount of AoE. Unequip all of the staves and wands on your casters and the Mesmers will not cast any more chaos storms (except on Xan Hei, but he is usually out of the way). It makes it a lot easier since you can just focus the elementalists. At least it did for me :D 128.227.104.22 00:58, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

This was very helpful. I unequiped wands/staves, flagged heroes at the spawning point of one side, and only had 1 death throughout the whole ordeal. Before unequiping I tried every corner and always wiped miserably.84.193.94.163 23:54, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
No matter how silly it sounds but this was indeed THE solution for me, thanks --82.156.55.28 16:00, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
I can't believe this worked! After trying a dozen times or so I thought "what the hell - what have I go to lose?". I have a whole new respect for chaos storm now.
This quest is pretty insane. I've done all Elites areas except UW with just heroes and no cons, but this mission really really takes the mick. So incredibly hard. Hardest I've ever done, infact. After many, many tries, finally finished this in HM using a team of 5 Paragons (one SY Para, one Burning Barrage/They're On Fire!, then Finale of Resto and shout/chant spam to keep team health high), 2 Necs (Orders/Wells + SoS/Healer hybrid), 1 Mes (Panic/Moti), and a Siege Turtle summon stone, standing by the Gate near the docks and hoping for dear life than Xan Hei didn't aggro more than 2 to 3 groups at once. Finally done, called so many targets constantly, my arm hurts :\. Had to use a few Rez Scrolls also when WSR! was on recharge. 82.11.226.30 22:16, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
Did it today, after 5 serious tries with heroes. Screenshot at http://i40.tinypic.com/25i536s.jpg . I unequipped all caster weapons. Thanks to Yojimaru for build inspiration, but I couldn't do it with his builds. I especially needed the wanderlust spirit to be able to kill the boss fast enough at the start, so I could run away to the stairs before pulling everything. I'm pretty sure now I got the tactic, I could do it again any time. Consumables or summons are definitely not needed. 81.206.12.232 22:02, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

As of early 2022: Flagged the 7 Hero Offensive Mesmerway team at the south-west corner, up the stairs and near the "gate" to Wajjun Bazaar. Spoke with 3 citizens who gave "good responses" with Nails being the last since he was the closest to the team. Ran up the stairs, unflagged the team so they didn't wipe to an AoE attack, and fought there. All the mobs eventually made their way to our location (which tells me the game is cheating) but there was enough time between them (and the hero team had enough fire power) to defeat them. Stayed in the raised area next to the "gate" throughout.--50.89.105.61 21:52, 3 May 2022 (UTC)

9 Feb update[edit]

Did this quest get changed any? It seems to be just as good for wiping as ever. -- Hong 16:05, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

User Kgptzac tracking the corruption hm placement.jpg I tried to position my party at exits where mobs spawn... that did not work well. Flagging here, however, will usually have only 1 group aggro and at most 2 with the firepower I had. The trick is of course spike enemy mes and ele. --Kgptzac 08:35, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
I didn't notice any differences from the pre-Feb version. I am willing to believe that ANet nerfed many (all?) of the normal mode parts of WoC, but left untouched the HM versions. That seems like a reasonable approach. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:46, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
Uh... no? Many of the HM quests were made drastically easier. The difference of fighting 6 Afflicted to 4. Anet just reduced the group sizes of enemies. 96.240.197.103 22:35, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
You don't fight Afflicted in this quest, Einstein, and you don't fight four or six of them at a time, either. This is another utterly absurd HM WoC quest. Your party of eight happy figurines is supposed to take on multiple unsplittable mobs that aggro from all the way across the other side of the screen? What was ANET thinking? This is supposed to be fun?--71.185.41.90 01:32, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
I believe 96.240 was referring to a change in Rescue at Minister Cho's Estate (Hard mode) (in reply to my comment that I believed that none of the HM quests were nerfed). My speculation aside, the only reason I think the mobs might have been easier is that my team succeeded after 9 Feb. However, we used significantly different tactics this time. It seemed to be the same number of mobs, the same skills, and the same spawn points. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:18, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
If you were able to finish this in HM with new strategies after Feb. 9, could you give us some pointers as to how you did it?--71.185.41.90 08:16, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
By new, I meant other than what we had tried before (there were two players). We basically combined the tips listed above. Took us a couple of tries. The most important thing was dropping wands/spears for spears. Second was finding a good spot to defend. Third was not popping a summons too soon. Fourth was interrupts. I'm not entirely convinced we could repeat the trick. I have another toon heading towards WoC/HM completion, so I'll try to be more systematic the next set of attempts. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 08:47, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
What finally worked for me (just now) is a combination of this: (1) remove all wands and staves, (2) flag the heroes at the top of the stairs (southwest portal) and keep them there until the very end, lest they start aggroing like morons, and (3) blow a con set. I was a d-slash warrior and just spammed d-slash and SY over and over. With the con set, it was button-mashy but not particularly hairy. I can live with myself knowing that I wasn't able to complete this quest without cons.--71.185.41.90 09:07, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
"I am willing to believe that ANet nerfed many (all?) of the normal mode parts of WoC, but left untouched the HM versions." that would constitute a remarkably stupid way of responding to feedback, given that the bulk of the complaining was about the hard mode versions. -- Hong 15:57, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

This is F****** RIDICULOUS[edit]

Who the fuck playtested this & found it even remotely passable? I can vanquish the entire game yet can't even 1/2 way complete this. Utter BS.

i found this almost impossible yet it can be done HM with 4 players or 1 player 3 heros if you are good at micro managing, its all about tactics etc. i thiought this was impassible in HM till a wiki user helped me out, did it without any deaths what so ever. im a player thats done everything in gw with heros (or heros and hench prior to 7 hero teams) including duncan HM with heros and henchmen, it requires more lateral thinking not just pure firepower that can be used for almost everything else, ive now completed all of WoC HM, apart from this quest all i found doable with heros, if as you say you can vanquish all of the game with them this may just be a quest you need to ask help for, after all gw is a ccoprg, and you just might need the cooperation another player can bring.Spark-TBa 17:26, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
@Spark: you found that a smaller team worked better? That's a fascinating idea. What type of builds did you use? (I sort of wish I hadn't finished it yet, so I could try that out. I will give it a try with my next toon, who's approaching it soon.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:20, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Nope, this is still fucking ridiculous. Hard Mode or not, IMO there should not be non-elite, storyline, pve quests that require an exact team build and micro-managing hero's with pefect technique. & I have yet to see an actual screenshot showing this was completed this way in HM. For a elite area mission like Duncan or something, fine. Like this, absolutely not. ANET really shit the bed on this one. 99.72.195.220 19:30, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the offer. I think I can replicate what my first team did before (2 players, 6 heroes), so I'm not worried about getting it done. I was more interested in the general type of team you used. I thought you had a 1 person/3 hero setup. I can already see ways in which four players would be better than seven heroes. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:15, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

So I just used this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHKPsI85shg) to help me that someone very nicely posted to you tube, I did it with a ranger and axed the third mesmer he posts in the build. The most important part is placement of the spirits so that they take the damage and your group doesnt take the blunt of the AoE. 173.58.5.131 10:34, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Febuary 16th Update[edit]

So NOW they rebalance this, after all the effort I went to to do it the other day? :P My girlfriend hasn't done it yet, so I bet now when she gets to it she'll wonder what all the fuss was about, and think I suck lol. Nevermind :p. At least it'll be better should I ever decide to play through all of the WoC (HM) content again on another character (not about to do that anytime soon, mind lol). Anybody got details on exactly what has changed in it now? More times between spawns I'd guess, but just pulling that as a total guess out of my unmentionables. 82.11.226.30 22:58, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

I beat it in hm already cause I got extremely lucky I guess. If anyone does it now, can you please share how ANet reduced the difficulty? I would like to know. Thanks! Magi 01:22, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
They removed the monks. Which means groups die faster....or actually die!
Just did it in HM, and I didn't notice it at first but yes I don't remember seeing any monks either. Otherwise, spawn numbers looked the same more or less, but I was able to kill the first wave from southwest that was heading east (I was at southeast) without aggroing the 1st wave northeast that was heading west. I thought that might have been due to them staggering the waves more, but it was probably more likely due to the absence of monks healing and aggroing the rest of the group. Much much more doable now!! 218.186.18.242 08:38, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
I did it in HM before the update and that wasn't too bad. Maybe I was lucky with the spawns - I don't know. I wish they had tuned down When Kappas Attack instead... - Sir Mad 89.83.230.187 19:57, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Just did it literally 5 mins ago, i accidentally entered in HM when doing the NM version, smashed threw it easy, i DID notice there WERE monks, so any way, NM version done, i picked up HM version of Quest(knowing how easy it will be just accidentally doing it in HM), while there were no monks in HM, the necro's were very potent protectionist, doing better then what the monks did that previous round(remembering doing both version in HM by accident), not to mention how quick chaos storm is spammed around, the fight took a lil longer then prepared for, managed to just get it done...it was easier in HM on my war with the monks healing aswell as the necro's, because the necro werent protecting everything and spitting conditions back at you..so on my necro i wont use an ele who does burning dmg(that will be round 3)...oh and yeah doing it before the 9th update on my war in HM with heroes was 10x easier and faster then what it is now..and on my mesmer, i took all groups at the chokehold, first 2 spawns+2nd 2 spawns(although most the first 2 spawns were wiped), finished off...pulled back to gain energy on heroes, then singley taking last spawn 1 group at a time....on my war i did the same thing without pulling back for energy...was still easier before removing monks...oh let that be a note aswell...if quest is NM and ur in HM(by accident)..NM mobs will spawn but have HM attributes and health etc.....well of to doing WoC back to back NM>HM..stop tyring to be safe with this quest..its more efficient to catch them in the narrow chokehold=AoE to its maximum effect, Oh and put spears and shield on ur heroes if u want, i did on my war, not my mesmers heroes, dont flag heroes, let them run free from chaos storm....oh any one else notice how easy u can keep there ele's shut down by locking a mesmer onto it? --58.165.5.167 18:58, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Last Stop, End of the Line![edit]

What a shame, all this way and all this time. I did not become a GW fan because it wasted my time. As stated above, this is NOT an Elite area... Why make it so damn miserable hard. Thanks for Nothing Anet! i will continue to do the NM WoC missions, but this is the End of the HM waste of time for me. (Jaxx Hammer)--166.250.106.53 01:20, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

because of cry baby's like you, they have already nerfed the quest 2 times for the community to make it easier, when it was ALREADY EASY to begin with,if using heroes=DONT use abundance of constant AoE like savanah heat/tahnai's heat, etc, USE once off AoE like Searing Flames and Rodgort Invocation, toped off by immolate and glowing gaze to finish them, a panic mesmer OR barrage ranger(put splinter weapon on his bar)for heavy once off AoE+constant interupts is also great to have, not to mention you need a good DMG build on your bar, and try something with AoE damage, 3rd hero will need a pressure heavy DMG build, atleast 2 healers(either monks, rits or N/Rt's) and 2 protectionist(ST rit, E/Mo, N/Mo, P/W) once, u get all good/bad responses, run down to the portal they do NOT spawn at(kaineng docks), wait there for the weakling assassin boss to turn red, get intiate sei rei, to follow down to u luring that sin boss with him, once he is between the house and harbour wall's, ATTACK, now everything will be aught in that chokehold, the idea is now to Target-Ele'e, Mesmer's, Necro's, monks/Rit's, then melee, i have practiced all sorts of hero set up's, all work, need nothing elitus like(as most people refer to hero builds), all you need, is cosntant AoE damage, that doesnt open in a location to continuate, once off AoE doesn't cause kiting and can do alot more damage over time and makes Panic work to full effect, also u dont wanna be spamming a target, to have them kite and drag ur heroes more into the aggro...like all WoC quest, its easy if using common sense, shit! there is dungeons harder then anything HM WoC, and as i say i am not elitus, nore do i run any "meta" hero builds, i just make my own around the bar im using --124.180.208.241 14:14, 22 February 2012 (UTC)::::: I have bills to pay, i can't AFFORD to study this game the way some do! Get over it! I enjoy playing GW and have done so for over 4.5 years and i will continue to do so. "Cry Baby"? think what you want, i refuse to become frustrated chasing meaningless items. I'm sure you don't understand!!!(Jaxx Hammer)--166.250.100.62 01:30, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

I didn't see what was hard about it at all. All you have to do is not bring a MM and sit tight in that southern corner. Was being permanently covered with empathy annoying? Yes but it really was not a hard quest at all. 69.115.53.0 04:54, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

@Jax u just made urself look worse --124.176.244.171 22:42, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

After the update, I've noticed this quest has gotten so much easier. If you are still having trouble, try this: set up your heroes at the corner portal Kaineng docks (across from the stairs). Squeeze your monk heroes up against the wall and set the others spaced a bit before them. Then trigger the dialogues. Go back to your heroes and you can then wait for the boss to come to you, he will follow Xan Hi all the way to you. Then just wait for the spawns and kill them as they come. You don't ever have to move from your corner til the spawns stop. Coriander

This is actually pretty easy[edit]

If you run towards the Kaineng docks portal and hug the North wall. All mobs will run to your initial spawnpoint before coming for you. That way all the mobs will have to run through the small gap between the building in the middle of the square and the north wall. When all mobs come from the same direction and have no hex removal panic does the rest. Voila 84.48.54.253 05:55, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

I followed this advice. Bunched up in front of that metal door near the docks eventually one and two groups would run that direction. After that half of the market was clear I approached the gap between the middle building and north walls and pulled the two groups scattered on the other half of the market. Last, a fifth group came down the stairs and scattered around that second half of the market. Playing as a SoS, then followed the 7 player hero support but replacing the MM with Searing Flames elementalist and a random ranger. --70.56.182.117 09:11, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Need Some Help On This One[edit]

I've tried quite a few strategies mentioned, went in with a full team, and had someone try to help who had been through it before - but I still have been unable to get through this one after around a hundred tries or more. If anyone knows this one well and would help me get through, please contact me (Baron Pierre Lestat). Thanks! Baron Pierre Lestat 09:52, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Did you try unequipping staves & bringing well of the profane somewhere? I can probably help later today (say in 2 hours time) File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 12:48, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Thanks to Chieftain Alex on getting me through! Thought I would be stuck there forever.Baron Pierre Lestat 14:04, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

HEY MAN ! THANKS SO MUCH ! THIS WORKED FINE ON MY FIRST TRY ! APPRECIATE IT, EVEN THOUGH NOT SURE U ARE COMING BACK HERE TO SEE MY MESSAGE !

Using a Bonder[edit]

Consider using a bonder and a fairly defensive team for this fight. I tried it a few times with a meta vanquish squad and failed utterly, so I revised my skills (I usually take SoS for myself, but it's heavily-countered in WoC) to just straight life bond, and took a couple fringe builds on the heroes. Heavy defense worked well overall; there were a few deaths (including me, eventually), but I didn't have to flag heroes anywhere or micro any of their skills. At all. Just killed the boss and held that side of the marketplace.

For non-monks, this could easily be a hero. The only enchant rip among the Am Fah is drain, on the eles. Not much to worry about.

Hero elites I took: 2x Panic, 1x Psychic Instability, 1x Discord, 1x Well of Power, 1x Searing Flames, 1x Healing Burst - Tristan c 02:06, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Using 2 Bonders[edit]

1 try, done in 10 min.

I play E/Me earth: mantra of resolve -> no prob with daze /glyph of swiftness/obsidian flesh/armor of earth/stoneflesh aura/EBSH/silver armor/ether feast (heal but I never used it)

2 bonders: 1) life barrier / life bond / puryfieng veil / balthazar spirit / vital blessing / blessed signet

2) martyr (to micro when dazed, to avoid to lose to much mana, but the remove does not have to be perfect, only useful on 2sec cast skill) / mending / succor / essence bond / watchful spirit

I cleaned, 3 Am Fah remaining, so you have 5 more characters to kill 3 Am Fah, Im sure you will figure it out !
