Should it be noted that since it causes degen, this skill can instantly kill you? --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 00:44, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

I assume you mean the Deep Wound effect? And yes, I agree, it should be noted. -- AshleyS (talkcontribs) 00:51, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Is it armor ignoring damage I wonder? — Eloc 00:50, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
How would it kill you? i see about 220 Damage and 10 seconds of bleeding... Anon
Bleeding is health degen, at -6 health per second. So if they hit you when you were already wounded, the damage and deep wound could take you to 1 health, and the bleeding would then kill you. -- Hong 00:10, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Bleeding is only -3 Degen.Sparhawk 00:12, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
It's -3 pips of degen, and each pip is 2 hp per second, so -6 total IIRC. -- Hong 00:15, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
It's also worth noting that if the entire pack chooses the same target, that target is pretty much dead with no recourse. GhostBear 22:05, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

How do you prepare for a spike, that you can not stop? It is a touch skill, it steals health. Everybody has to be a X/P?--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:84.56.252.13 (talk).

Bringing a bunch of minions helps alot. --Arduinna talk 13:39, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Just thought I would point this out, anyone see a similarity betweeen this and twisting fangs. Monk Texas Ranger 23:52, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Counter to Twisting Jaws

Sorry, haven't really used this before but i felt i had to mention it; the perfect counter to twisting jaws is actually Restore Condition; it removes deep wound and bleeding whilst healing up for (more than, usually) the life-stealing dealt by twisting jaws. - Leslie--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:86.159.77.117 (talk).

Since its a touch skill i would expect that "cant touch this" would prevent this. OblivionDanny 15:02, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Just hope they don't find the RC monk as their first target, huh? 71.127.159.233 02:06, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

I believe that the note "While it has a long recharge, having a pack of four descend on an unprepared party could mean a party wipe." is quite ridiculous, because how does 480dmg+4 deep wounds kill 8 players?Crimmastermind 03:17, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

ya lol, 4 dinos isnt bad. its when the mob your fighting calls all his patrolling buddies in the area for reinforcements that really burns a team. Worst zone i think is Sparkfire swamp. And watchout for that dirty dino boss with this skill, 1 hit kill--Justice 00:18, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

I remember something about this hitting through Shadow Form, was that true?86.80.183.215 10:15, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

This is a touch skill, not a spell, so yes, it'd eat a Perma for lunch, just as much as everyone else. I run an Healer's Boon build, equip with a 40/40 healing set, enchating set, defensive, the works; my heroes carry heavy protting, including RC, but of course, as soon as that Tyrannus boss hits, it's gg and game over, since the spikes are faster than my 1/8 second heals. This kind of bs is exactly what forces players to exploit game AI and make cookie-cutter, instance-clearing builds. Good job, shooting yourself in the foot, ANet. (edits: idk, why I cannot spell today, but I also did not log in.) Sec Qr Euin 04:04, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

A single, niche paragon skill does not make something like this okay. Sec Qr Euin 09:03, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
It does in PvE, where you know beforehand what you're up against :P Dark Morphon 15:07, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Ok something is obviously wrong when a Monster skill that is really good is worse the a Player usable skill. Not to mention that skill can hit 3 foes... Yay Killing Charr 02:27, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Wounding Strike doesn't deal 120 damage and is elite. So, no. Morphy 16:30, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
QQing because this skill killed you? Please, stop whining because you're bad at GW and "the game is too hard" Atomisk 22:50, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
