added "Fear My Power". he will say that if you aggro him in the Gate of Madness mission. 87.177.241.34 17:22, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Age[edit]

A hundred years ago? Didn't Orr only get destroyed after Ascalon, which -caused- Khilbron to become the lich? Looks like blatant misinformation to me, is there a source on it? --Valentein 17:28, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Who said that he could't retransform to his older form? :P 87.177.241.34 17:30, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
The Cataclysm was caused by vizier Khilbrom, not the Undead Lich/Lich Lord so about 3 years before meeting him he should still have been Khilbron, also I don't think it's really a disguise, he is both of them after all, as far as I know it isn't possible to disguise as yourself. Etienne 22:44, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
He destroyed Orr and was "Lichified" when he used the forbidden scroll to wipe out the invading Charr army. The charr army was one of two armies (the other being the one that invaded Kryta) after The Searing. I thought he could switch forms, not exactly "disguise" himself, but exist as either one. Going from a midget human to a giant big bad lich (with no feet, by the way) seems like too big of a transformation to be easily done over and over if it was just plain "disguising". Then again he CAN hit 200s and, umm, not-stay-dead. File:Esig2.jpg Eldin 15:17, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Lichified. Awesome! =) - Elder Angelus 19:22, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
He pretty much changed his form all the time..Sanctum Cay (Vizier) - Thunderhead Keep [End-Cinematic] (Lich) - Ring of Fire (Vizier) - Abaddon's Mouth ([Begin/Middle] Vizier, [End] Lich) - (84.245.21.57 23:40, 24 December 2008 (UTC))

Liche[edit]

Lich is spelt Liche.--Quetzal 17:17, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Actually, it can be spelled Lich. Its more commonly spelled Lich.216.119.178.127 18:29, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

I agree with the DnD comment. Its lich--Knighthonor 06:46, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

It comes to my attention that..[edit]

This is the easiest boss in Guild Wars. At least for the skill you're at when you face him. Life Siphon, Strip Enchantment, Unholy Feast, Monster skill that causes burning and crippled for a little while, and even a few more pitiful attempts from him to beat you once his health goes low, is all serious business against an 8 man team, especially when they just killed about 30 titans earlier. Swift Aura 18:30, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

The mission to reach him, makes Shiro easier. Not that the mission is hard, but it's long. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 18:39, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Meh, the mission IS long, but he's still a wimp. I didn't even lose any henchies the first time I killed him in NM. (And at that point I didn't even have any monk elites on my hero because I hated playing monk >_>) 88.193.200.215 12:04, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
True, the Lich should be over powered. Say with abnormally high attribute levels (soul reaping 20, death magic 20 ect) have equiped an elite necromancer build. Then have extra over powered buffs such as immunity to conditions, knock downs and minus fifty percent duration of hexas on self(The Lich). Plus the ability to gain control of all minions in the area by default and continually exploit corpses (without using skills) to create skeleton minions that use skills.
Maybe too much said and too over powered but I'm trying to make a point that the last boss should be scary to fight. --User Magican Signature Empathy.jpg Magican talk 07:51, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
That sounds more like Dhuum... He should get a change in Proph to get his NF skills, Soul Vortex, Aura of the Lich, and his own version of Zoldark the Unholy's skills (since all but one are shared with Joko, except for minor description modifications). Add those skills to his NF version as well (yes, Soul Vortex too, for the lulz). -- Konig/talk 08:59, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Type[edit]

Instead of 'Typeless', why don't we settle on an actual type? I would change it to Abomination if any but want to see opinions.--Im Irrelevant 13:14, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Although there's a certain similarity in looks between the Lich and other Abominations, I don't think he is one. These type designations have been built up with EoE testing, looking at what they drop, lore, and developer comments, none of which, as far as I know, point to him being an Abomination. Manifold User Manifold Jupiter.jpg 15:58, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
I think something is wrong here. We now list his type as "Lich" which leads to a disambiguation page which in turns leads us back here. I suggest we return to having him typeless in stead of making up a species containing only one entity in the game.--Manassas User Manassas Mannysig.png 08:06, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
While he is a lich in lore - as would Zoldark and Joko - I think he may actually be a Zombie type (or a unique type). From what I recall, undead taking double damage from holy is due to an innate skill, so has someone tried using a Deathbane mod against him? -- Konig/talk 01:05, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Anet haqs explicitly told us he has type set to blank. Thus typeless. Backsword 02:03, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
If you don't mind me asking, can you provide a source? -- Konig/talk 03:54, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Cinematic note[edit]

"Even after officially killing the Lich, he'll show up again respawned in the final Nightfall cinematic for a brief second." I have never seen nor heard of this. When and where in the cinematic does he show up? -- Konig/talk 07:40, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

No idea, but i noticed it too. After he was killed, he fell on the floor. Then he stood up again followed by the cutscene.
So he DOES respawn, i just don't know why :p

armor raiting[edit]

30 armor rating?

Possibly the WEAKEST mob in the entire game. what kind of armor does the lich wear, pre-krytan armor?

A-net, do something about this boss, this is sad.--24.239.166.194 19:09, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Retro

Yes his armor rating is low, but he has a big load of health to make up for it. Further keep in mind he is a boss in prophecy's This part of the game is designed to be played without hero's and to be doable with only henchman. Although I only played this game for 2 years, I can believe that in the early days this boss was a hard nut to crack.Rumian 22:47, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Lich?[edit]

When I killed the Undead Lich in the Prophecies campaign I noticed that it immediattly spawned a Lich that wasn't undead. I didn't have any time to click on him before it went to the cutscene so i don't know anything about him, even what he looked like I just saw the red name. What's up with that?!

Things usually respawn/spawn on cutscenes(Even people/things u think are dead). This sets up the setting for the cutscene. Yae Mozs 18:07, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
But he changed from being "Undead Lich" to "Lich". That was the main strange thing about that for me.
If anyone still cares, it's because he's in the last cinematic, but for any of his dialogue they thought "undead lich" was a bit too long for his name, so they reduce it to lich. 131.227.154.148 16:43, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

What kind of lich is the Lich?[edit]

I was wondering for some time is the Lich a DnD type lich or did he become a lich thanks to him causing the Cataclysm? And if he is a classic lich, what is his phylactery? 77.166.207.18 20:09, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Wouldn't it be neat if his Phylactery was the Scepter of Orr?--71.164.206.148 19:31, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
