Does this trigger BEFORE armor of sanctity? I want to know if this will cause any melee that hits you to get reduced dmg instantly 14:13, 20 December 2007 (UTC)--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:76.26.189.65 (talk).

I'm pretty sure it does activiate before. i'll test it out when I get the chance. 70.88.161.146 23:15, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Does this trigger against ranged attacks? I know the description says nothing to the contrary, it just seems weird that you could be crippled by shooting arrows against someone with thorny armor =P 76.25.21.240 18:20, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Umm Flashing Blades works on enemies half a mile away, why shouldn't this? :) Paddymew 08:32, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Secondary Dervish Skill[edit]

Seems like this would be a decent skill for a monk/dervish to help avoid enemy melee, any thoughts? Elder Angelus 21:11, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

If it wasn't 1 second activation (combined with the low duration), I would agree.76.15.50.131 11:25, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
This is overpowered and needs a nerf. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.174.21.250 (talk).
Sign your comments, and no it doesn't. It's fine. -- Ritualist euphoracle | talk 00:27, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
It's a flash enchantment now :) so no activation time anymore ^^ --Arxae

Bugged?[edit]

i just tried a simple 130hp drv build with this "armor of sanctity" and prot spirit. expected it to work fine against pve rangers & melee, but it completely fails (order of casting doesn't seem to make much difference either) anyone know why? (or am i just baaad?) (Rampantarmadillo 03:55, 7 November 2008 (UTC))

Well, did you tried the build with Conviction(extra armor)?--Wealedout 00:25, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't see why that would make any difference tbh. The idea is 10% of 130 is 13, reduction of damage by >13 should mean no received damage at all. I think, unlike shield of absorption, armor of sanctity reduces damage before prot spirit, making it essentially useless in this context. (85.167.47.208 15:12, 14 November 2008 (UTC))

Really Cool[edit]

It intrigues me that there is a spell that reduces damage even from armor-ignoring spell-based sources. Anyone foresee a farming build with this? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 128.119.156.75 (talk).

Hm, to be honest, they should totally have this effect for spellbreaker, SF and obsidian flame too to avoid strange debuffs for them. Just my two cents (Frizz 02:01, 19 February 2011 (UTC))
Does it reduce indirect spell damage (e.g. Soul Barbs, Empathy)? — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 4:24, 20 Feb 2011 (UTC)
Yes, it does. Tested it on skales just outside LA. Soul Barbs had listed damage as 26. Veil of Thorns at 11 Earth reduced it to 19. 66.61.119.166 03:37, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Would have thought this would have worked on perhaps RA Monks, with Shield of Force or whatever (tho I think that's 10e now) and maybe Eremite's Zeal for energy (not so great in RA, mind - maybe HA or GvG, though). Particularly with that Massive Damage Flux we just had, reducing spell damage is pretty neat. Widowmaker 23:12, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
