Skill change[edit]

Can we get this skill to cause Cracked Armor? -Rakeman 08:18, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

After Update[edit]

If it inflicts cracked armor, this won't be a curse spell any longer...due the fact that it won't get a caster to 40 armor, maybe the energy cost / casting time / skill recharge will be changed. or there will be something added that makes it remains still a curses skill. 87.177.233.163 12:20, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

We'll see. Skill will be updated once changed. Curent article should reflect curent status.Backsword
I'd also like to point out Enfeeble and Enfeebling Blood which are also not hexes, and yet still in the Curses line. GD Defender 15:26, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

My only concern is...how much this skill will suck after update. 3 second cast for cracked armor on one target...Not only is it inferior to the current hex effect, but just take a look at elementalist skill shellshock. 76.102.172.202 07:12, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

What makes you think those won't be changed? --Kale Ironfist 07:30, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
I for one, hope they change it to something more like Enfeeble. --Curse You 22:38, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
They nerfed this and buffed shellshock. Funny. Dancing Gnome 02:47, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Make it 5-1-5 like Enfeeble. It is very similar to it anyways. 2 seconds cast is still too long... 1.) too long fo PvP 2.) too worthless for PvE. This skill could help cracked armor see some play also from x/N secondaries, but 2 second cast time makes it too unattractive. --Longasc 12:39, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Agreed 2 secs = ftl... simple, not to mention in the long run cracked armor isnt that great 06:35, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Weaken Armor Doesn't Reduce AL Below 60[edit]

The current hex-based version of Weaken Armor doesn't appear to reduce AL below 60. To test this, I used Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support to inflict predictable physical damage on the suits of armor in the Isle of the Nameless. Against the Suit of 80 Armor, I did 38 damage normally, and 54 damage with Weaken Armor (80AL reduced to 60, as expected). Against the Suit of 60 Armor, I did 54 damage with or without Weaken Armor - the hex had no effect. ~Wayward

I think armour isn't supposed to be able to go below 60 anymore. I wonder how this worked with monsters with armour below 60 and cracked armour... Dancing Gnome 02:48, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
This is more like enfeeble, an easy way to inflict a condition for those attack skills that needs it and virulence/Fragility. Is easy to use cracked armor as a cover condition due to the low cost and recharge, -20 armor against physical doesnt help the necro but this does against wamos or other meele, i think this suddenly got awsome. --Cursed Angel 09:31, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Agreed, I always wanted to use this skill but the long cast time and energy cost put me off. Granted, it's no 1 second cast Shell Shock with armor penetrating damage, but it'll do just nicely for my necro. --66.176.157.239 14:50, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
:Need AoE. Lightblade 09:25, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Izzy grants your wish. Will be very nice for PvE now, easily spread Cracked Armour through mobs. --Lytel 23:57, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Yup, maybe it sees some use now. It is probably the best way for mass application of Cracked Armor now. Still, I did not need Cracked Armor for anything so far. --Longasc 01:24, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
there are several skills that trigger with cracked-armored foes. This skill is great now with aoe —ZerphatalkThe Improver 02:50, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Meaningless Use[edit]

Why do Devourers in Old Ascalon use this skll? I mean, which character arriving there will have more than 30 armor? I'd suggest giving the Necromancer Devourers there something lke Enfeeble rather than this. Noctarch 15:34, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

They use this because they've been using it since before it was modified. I guess Anet just didn't feel like changing that.
there are a lot of skills that are on monsters like this that just don't make sense anymore. they still work, and monsters still use them well, but they dont go well with the other skills on their skill bar.--72.189.85.14 19:39, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

does that mean that if the spell makes the armor not go under 60 - u gain 30 armor? 86.144.116.151 21:09, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Hero Use?[edit]

Do non-necro-primary heroes ever use this skill? I put it on an E/N and have never seen him use it once.--192.168.103.54 14:02, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
