Double Luxon and Kurzick Title Points!

I just personally had to come on and say thank you soooo much for creating an event such as this! Not just for AB or PvP but for all forms of attaining Luxon/Kurzick factions. I know myself as well as many other players in my alliance have been pushing hard for these titles and this really helps a lot. Thanks sooo much again it definitely proves Anet still cares and listens to the players! --O Frost O File:User-O Frost O Sig.GIF 20:03, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Ehmmm...what? --Silverleaf User Silverleaf sig.pngDon't assume, ask! 21:14, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh yes! My Guild and alliance are all in good moods for these! This is gonna be one hell of a good weekend in Guild Wars.--ShadowFog 21:39, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Yeah a big thnx for introducing this weekend event! This title is a time killer so this event will really help out alot! -- Nox Coma 05:50, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

You normally get double faction points for transferring faction through your alliance and for "buying" skills. Would that amount double during the weekend as well? For example: I transfer 5k faction through my alliance, buy 1 Kurzick skill (3k) and get 2 Amber Chunks (2x 1k). Normally I would get 10k + 6k + 2k = 18k contributed towards the title. Would that be 36k during the weekend? So that instead of 10k to the title for each 5k faction donated to the alliance, now the title gain would be 20k for each 5k donated? As does 12k for getting a skill instead of the usual 6k, even though it costs you only 3k from your unspent faction? It really got me wondering and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere yet. :S Juriaan Cuthalion 14:18, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes. -- Nox Coma 18:16, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
By the way you only get double faction for donating to your alliance. If you buy a skill 3k you only get 3k towards your title, same goes for amber/jade which are actually 5k. But to answer your question yes you would get a total of 6k for each skill, 10k for each amber/jade, and 20k for each 5k donated to your alliance. :) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.184.246.201 (talk).
Actually you get 6k title points for trading in 3k for a skill. So you would actually get 12k for buying skills during this weekend event. See Luxon faction or Kurzick faction. --Silver Edge 22:16, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
This event isn't new, it's just that we haven't seen it for more than one year now. Nox is right, that's how it works. Erasculio 18:21, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Actually, Kurzick/Luxon events normally give double points during acquisition via bounty or AB. It's a first that they reward double points during exchange. But it sounds like Juriaan got it right - it's twice what you would get normally, thus 36k in that example. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 18:29, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
AWESOME :). --Silverleaf User Silverleaf sig.pngDon't assume, ask! 18:30, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
They've done the double for donations before as well. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 18:31, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
That's awesome indeed! Thanks for answering guys. Looks like the quest "Duel of the Houses" will be my biggest friend coming sunday evening (I work in the weekends and can only play sunday evenings, so only 9 hours left in the events for me always). And I have never seen this event in this way (double faction upon exchanging) before, but that's probably because I only play since september 2007. :D Juriaan Cuthalion 18:36, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
This is the best kind of weekend event for people who work weekends because you can do a bunch of non-repeatable quests during the week, (don't accept any more rewards once your faction bar is near 10k). Then, during the weekend: (1)donate some faction, (2)accept some quest rewards, repeat (1)&(2) until you have claimed all rewards on all of your characters. --69.117.36.57 03:26, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Wait a minute? 1k for Amber or Jadeite? Since when? It has always cost me 5k for these. Is this a mistake or have i been getting screwed? Are they saying it will be 1k this weekend or has it been that way for other people all along? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Cinnamongod (talk).

SS/LB

we havent had one in quiet awhile and they are prolly my fave ones

Problem is that it caused a huge favor spike last time, so they are probably waiting for it to come back down before making a new one. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 20:39, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
yea prolly but its below 5000 now and they could always just mess with the favor themselves like they did before but w/e itd be nice is all im saying

PVE?

A lot of the people in GW are doing PVE, and the people get PVP events? Anet? Dav 15:23, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

It's consistently 1 PvE, 1 PvP, with Kurzick / Luxon considered PvE. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 16:45, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
It's pretty much a even split between PvE and PvP weekend events, with maybe some favoring of PvE events. Yet, it seems a frequent occurance that someone will complain there's not a PvE event every weekend it seems. Besides, how do you know Dav, that more people are doing PvE than PvP? 75.146.48.190 17:31, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Does Anyone Else Suffer This?

Call me weird, I've been called worse, but when a lot of these events come around I just can't be bothered with them, even though they would help me a lot - the Kurzick/Luxon weekend being a prime example. I was so geared up for heavy faction title chasing but when this weekend came I really just CBA and only did one lot of 10k on the Sunday night. Instantly regretted not getting stuck in come Monday afternoon. Does anyone else suffer CBA syndrome come the right weekend? – josəph 19:20, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Double Exp for vanquishing

Well that will be useful. It means that my level 20 character an goup even more levels, wait a minute no he can't. Oh well at least I'll be able to earn lots of skill points (which I can add to my other collection of lots and lots of skill points). So after that little rant and rave I guess my question is, Why? It doesn't help me at all. Surely there are other more useful weekend events that could be put on instead.

Yup. This weekend event has been and will always be utter crap! -- Nox Coma 11:59, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

205.196.178.196 19:24, 13 November 2008 (UTC) I agree... the double scroll drop is somewhat usless (unless you drop a scroll of UW, FOW, Urz) Double xp.. not helpful.. double gold... very helpfull. Maybe triple green drop, EoTN rep points again, Double Lightbringer/Sunspear or even double rare gold drop might be better. As far as guild battles or aliance/factions points... worthless to me but very important to others (but those gvg, hero battles and pvp battle are what seems like every other weekend). We know Thanksgving is comming and christmas events.. can throw in some goodies for thosse PVE peeps. Usil951

Vanquishing doubling points - undocumented!

Vanquishing is currently giving double the documented number of Sunspear points (10 per kill instead of documented 5). Can anyone confirm this for Kurz/Lux/EotN points as well? --69.117.36.57 23:58, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

It's happening for Luxon points, as well, so I assume it is for Kurzick points, too. Don't know about EotN points, though. --Kokuou 00:10, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Could be tied to the currently event? Dominator Matrix 00:14, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
It's not part of an event, it's part(s) of the last few updates. Go the the update history page and check it out, they've made a lot of changes to faction and other point attainment Supan0va 22:29, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
That was not the point. The point was that you got doubled faction for vanquishing. as in the original update gave "foes killed x50 faction each" but during this weekend event you got "foes killed x100 faction each" -- Nox Coma 22:22, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
I used to get double EotN rep as well; if another user confirms this, then an update to the note is needed: "Sunspear and Lightbringer points earned by successfully vanquishing certain areas have also been doubled as part of this event. "--War_Pig5 21:07, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Another PVP weekend =

Here we go again.. another PVP weekend. Lets try something new.. how about doing a PVE and a PVP weekend specials at the same time. Since every other weekend event has soemthing to do with gvg, pvp, or alliance.. I only complaining a little bit... I understand that there are over a million pvp'ers that enjoy these weekends..but come on almost every other weekend? How about a Double gold drop or triple green drop might be a bit more exciting. I would even (sarcasticaly) enjoy double dye..lol Sorry to vent but I dont see any great weekends before christmas except if I have a great guild or I am a pvp person 205.196.178.196 20:37, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Usil951

"PvP every other weekend" also means "PvE event every other weekend" which to me seems rather fair, a balance of the two. I dont play PvP at all so I hate these weekends but you cant have what you want all the time right =)
I think that mixing PvP and PvE weekends might put a high strain on their servers, resulting in nasty lags and then everyone will start to complain about lag instead (^_^)
PvP weekends every other weekend is good balance...and it makes you look forward to the next weekend when there's a PvE event coming =) Like the last weekend of november when there's a very high probability of a thnxgiving event coming along =D -- Nox Coma 10:23, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

205.196.178.196 13:45, 21 November 2008 (UTC) Iagree with what you said... I did go back a revist all the weekend events..there is a balance of the 2. The only thing is that within the special weekends...there seems (actually may not be but seems like) to be more of the same type.. more double scrolls, vanquish (which is ok,but i dont vanquish that much)and dye weekend events. There are afew really good pve ones that always seem to get put on the back porch until a rainy day (the day that most people have plans..lol).

Yes, that I agree on.. Most of the PvE events are crap. Though I have to retract my statement on the VQ weekend event. I said "This weekend event has been and will always be utter crap". Since they added new ways of gaining faction through VQ and that actually doubles during the VQ weekends, that event suddenly bloomed =)
Though I wish they would come up with something new... -- Nox Coma 15:28, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

More than likely, the reason is Wintersday. Since we (should) have 2 weeks of it, i guess it makes sense to put together a few PvP weekends now. Not that i like it, but meh.--Fighterdoken 21:36, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Double SS/LB points

Does anybody know what gets affected by the event? Just the SS/LB bounties or also turning in the book "Night Falls"? --Johnnyrodrigues 21:57, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

I am not sure, but usually, books are not affected. This is to prevent people from putting lots of work before hand and reaping a huge reward when the weekend hits. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 23:46, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
and what about the quests or even the missions that award ss/lb points? there should be some clearer info about what does get affected... Guess we have no way to know rather than testing it out..:/ --Johnnyrodrigues 23:07, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

is it just me or has there been a majority of pvp events lately, i only dabble in pvp when im bored and tbh i rly want some pve events for once, ss/lb is nice but when u have max of both its kinda useless to u. how bout another EoTN rep weekend or double vq exp. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 99.237.19.17 (talk).

Yo Mn I Ttly Knw Wht U Fl liek! LKe PvP and PvE R TTLY Sck nd pdate U Sck! [/hate]
Ok.. Let me get this straight. December and Januari were filled with almost three full weeks of holiday joy, which is purely PvE unless you count the games. (They don't reward any PvP points anyway) Guild Wars has always been a very PvP-oriented game and does not want to let down any of its MANY PvP styles (HA, GvG, JQ&FA, AB, HB, RA&TA, ~Games, Tournaments..) Just because of this many options the players are getting less and less into these domains. The only exception being the organized and isolated guilds. Events need to be spread equally over all these domains. And especially with PvE being such a great part of the game they wouldn't like any campaign to dry out of interest. At the moments the Events are doing an amazing job of keeping people interested in all parts of PvE play. The little remaining time is spent on support for PvP players. If you want something else then one of the amazingly cool once-in-a-year events you should just wait two/three weeks. Unless they have another Wintersday in July you'll be filled with PvE joy. ;-) --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 13:26, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Ideas for Special Weekends

For a special weekend I'd like to see AB to be how it was when Anet screwed up and allowed heroes in. At one point I heard there were 12 x 4 per side... Maybe skip the 48 per side and stick to 12 per side, but allow heroes.

And how about a weekend where Soul Reaping is unnerfed temporarily in PvE (e.g. no timer limit)?

no. events are mainly for sweets/alcohol drops, holiday events, and involving titles. allowing heroes in AB takes away the teamwork effort, and what if they die? the heroes will just try to come back to you which will make it easy pickings for the enemy team. just camp rez shrines and kill the heroes as they come. oh and please sign your comments. Making the weekends fair for all...

Currently the weekends appear to run from Noon Pacific (-8 GMT) on a Friday In the UK that means that the weekend starts at 4am on Friday morning. Not helpful if you work (as I do). This means that when I get home from work the weekend has already been running for 13hrs.

The weekends end at 11:59 PM Pacific (-8 GMT) on Sunday. That’s 4pm on Sunday evening so is cut short in prime gaming time.

It appears to me that if you live in the Pacific Time zone you get a huge advantage. This could be balanced by running the weekend to 8am Pacific (-8GMT) which would be midnight here in the UK.

Ok so some committed players will be able to take full advantage of this. Good luck to them if they are that committed. But I for one would no longer feel that I am at a disadvantage.

Thanks. --Jekyl 09:13, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

You've got it backwards! -8GMT means they're 8 hours behind UK, i.e. Noon Pacific is 8PM UK time, midnight Sunday Pacific times is 8am Monday morning in the UK. --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 10:50, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Now dont I feel like a numpty! We still get the worst deal though. Mabe start at 8am Pacific (-8 GMT) So that we can get those few extra hours in on Friday afternoon... Lets face it there is more chance of getting some free time on a Friday afternoon than there is taking the Monday off to recover from an all night session.....--Jekyl 12:27, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Count your blessings you don't have 12 or even more hours difference! 76.30.79.54 07:52, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Don't know how to count. --138.89.241.10 17:48, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
the UK isn't the only ones at a disadvantage. other time zones are too. anet won't change the time they start their events just so people in one time zone will have an advantage. deal with living in your time zone. it is impossible to make the event start times fair for everyone in the entire world. Daeheru 13:49, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Even if they couldn't make it completely fair they could easily make it more fair by making it 48 or 72 (or any other multiple of 24) hours long so everybody would have the same amount of nights during one weekend event.

Help me!

I'm a Ritualist in Tyria (the world you call Guild Wars). My will is trapped in the hand of some unseen entity in a world outside of this one. He forces me to wear ragged, gauze-like wraps that hardly pass as clothing. It was all I can do to escape for a few hours and make my way to Sifhalla, Northern Shiverpeaks. I've been building my reputation here and struggling to make a name for myself amongst the Norn, in hopes that they can fashion me a more appropriate set of clothes. I can feel my will sleeping away again. Please, initiate a Bonus EOTN Faction Point Weekend sometime soon, before it's too late! 68.193.113.198

Well, looks like your wish has been granted, mysterious nameless Ritualist. ;) I wonder though... Does this double quest reward apply even to bonus EN faction from Zaishen quests? If so, I'm saving this Nulfastu bounty for the weekend! - Zaxares 02:15, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Dayum, didn't think about that Zaxares. Probably not though - quest rewards are fixed. --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 13:44, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Actually, in past double EN rep weekends, the bonus applied to all forms of faction, whether it was gained through killing monsters, or completing quests, missions or dungeons. The one exception was the rep bonus from turning in books. So, there's still hope that the reward faction we get from the Zquests is also doubled! - Zaxares 00:34, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Gods! Just in the knick of time. My unseen master has perused my thoughts, angry at my resistance. But upon seeing the exotic Norn fashion in my dreams - and getting word of the Blessings of Bonuses this coming weekend - his wrath was stymied. He fancies the look, and has decided to take advantage of the Blessings. He's even allowed me some time to myself! Though I feel safe enough to relinquish my will back to him for now; He's diligent with his wants, and I suppose he'll be pleased to see me in that fur and tribal inking. Happy (and decently clothed) times ahead, good day to you all and Gods bless. 68.193.113.198

Double Double Faction

"5000 points for raising your alliance's reputation." -> This already awarded 10k to the title. Will this now be 20k? --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 12:04, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Excellent question. I'm hoping this is the case, but I fear it will most likely be double of the bonus rather than a double of the initial donation and the normal bonus. In other words, you put in a donation of 5000 faction, and on normal days you get a 5000 pt bonus. During the dbl weekend I'd guess that you'll get the 5000 initial donation plus a 10,000 bonus for a total of 15k towards the title. But I could be, and hope to be wrong. Anyone know for sure?--209.194.208.116 20:59, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Donating 5k to your guild will get you 20k title points. They've done this event before. In fact, see the third section on this talk page. - Tanetris 01:34, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Any idea if this works on Shiro's Return books? --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 01:22, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
It doesn't affect books, since that faction goes straight to the title (you're not "spending" it). Freedom Bound 15:43, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Vanquishing

Anyone know if the "title points" includes any of the EotN titles (Asura, Norn, Vanguard, Dwarf)? --JET 20:57, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm going to assume you're talking about the upcoming vanquishing weekend rather than the past Lux/Kurz weekend and therefore move your comment to a new section. I apologize if that is not the case. To answer your question, yes, title points refers to Asura, Norn, and Vanguard points for vanquishing (not Dwarf, as there are no Dwarf zones that can be vanquished), but note that it only applies to the end reward for a successful vanquish, not for bounty points. - Tanetris 21:07, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Do you also get dbl pts for each foe you kill in hard mode, or just dbl of what the vanquish bonus is? Like instead of 20 pts per kill in hard mode, you get 40?--209.194.208.116 22:31, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Weekend Event Start Times

Okay, I think I have gone though every talk page and I have not found any agreement on exactly when the events start. Anyone? 76.14.39.250 20:00, 28 August 2009 (UTC)Thizzzguy

And it usually starts on a Friday. --Silver Edge 02:06, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Apparently, ANet pays the Announcement copywriter by the word, otherwise the text would do a better job of specifying the start and stop times (since newer players are unlikely to know what time events usually begin/end, particularly if they do not live in Pacific Time.)   — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:22, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

What do you get?

So, this weekend (which, btw, still has to be updated on the main page, but I've called for that too many times to do so again) is listed as double experience/gold for vanquishing. Do you also get double faction rewards if you vanquish in Factions, or double SS/LB points if you vanquish in Nightfall? There seems to be two types of language used, one that explicitly states double faction (see May) and one that does not, like this one, so I'm wondering if they're the same, or if they are in fact different. I suppose I could just wait and see, but that's no fun. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 15:13, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Dunno about that, but if you look up farther on this discussion page, and reference the 2008 weekend events in the archive for November, it looks like there might just be faction rewards as well, as the discussion indicates that you get double faction/SS/LB points even though it's undocumented... I just vanquished some NF areas and received no bonus gold nor exp. Whats going on? Is this event exclusive to certain areas and if so which ones?? Kasei 19:54, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

By certain areas I think they meant areas that give you bonus to a certain faction too, like kurzick, luxon, sunspear or lightbringer. No Halloween Redux ?

Why does Anet have NO consistency in anything about weekend events? 2008 had a redux but well... thats random... randomly they do redux... its just to make people angry or something like that ? Anet keep on deceiving me more and more, oh yeah btw, great idea to introduce Codex in the middle of Halloween, so that way people who do Codex cant do Costume Brawl meanwhile and vice versa .... worst Halloween Event i saw so far, absolutly no consistency or no good whiling on this, they just care about theyr Codex new baby, and im sure statisticaly its a big failure anyway Also thank you for teasing us 2 days with the decoration in LA/Kamadan so whe tought theres gonna be redux ... while theres not of course. Its the first year theres quest and they dont do the redux this time... ill not forget this 82.224.68.40 09:01, 4 November 2009 (UTC)randomplayer

Eye of the North Reputation Weekend

I readed this archive but it didn't answer to my question ... yesterday TPS Regulator Golem (Zaishen quest) was aviable ; if we finish it in the week-end, do we take double asura points ? Points are Asura, but the quest is Core ... so, where is the truth ? GodRage 22:25, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Sign your comments with four tildes ~~~~. To remind some people, we did have like 3 PvE events in a row. Unless you're just complaining about the order, in which case, yeah, it's messed up. I think it's because the nerf to DTSC and MQSC came right before the double Kurzick/Luxon Faction weekend, so maybe they threw the double JQ/FA to make up for that, then naturally the next event had to be PvE because it was a regular annual event. June 4-6

Double tournament reward points for GvG.

I understand balancing the weekend events between PvE and PvP, but this is just really limiting the people that can benefit. If I recall correctly you have to be in a Guild 8 days before you can participate in GvG then the tournaments are only held at certain times. It's already hard enough for players new to pvp to get into it with all the rank nazis out there, all this weekend will do is further that. If Anet want to run PvP bonus weekends at least run ones taht the entire community can participate in.Dakota 19:13, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

That is why he so helpfully provided a link, and it was (I gather) a joke :/ | 72 User Seventy two Truly Random.jpg | 21:01, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Godwin's Law's roots stretch back to the early 50's (reductio ad Hitlerum) he simply coined the phrase as partly tongue in cheek, far more recently (it says it on Wikipedia so it must be true, lol). The internet just made it much easier to observe happening. But it is a genuine phenomenon, the longer and more heated an argument gets, the more likely someone will bring up Hitler in an attempt to win. Maskeus was obviously just making a joke cause you mentioned nazis, but you're taking things too seriously, Dakota (thus proving the Law btw). Don't worry about the Weekend Event anyway, sometimes you have to accept that not everything can benefit you every time. Think of all the PvP only players, they get absolutely no benefit from the many PvE weekends we often get. Who knows, maybe next weekend will be something more beneficial to you. Tylenol Jones 21:16, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
PvP only players choose not to participate in PvE. I created a PvE character so that I could participate in both PvE and PvP with the same character, one that I enjoy playing. There's no need for me to have extra characters just for PvP, nor should I be penalised and have access to events restricted to me just because I'm in a small guild with friends. I spend a lot of time gaming - both online and offline so of course I take it seriously. Why would I dedicate the time and effort to something that I'm not going to take seriously?Dakota 22:40, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Has anyone else noticed that the order of the weekend events for the last 7-8 weeks or so has been the same as this time last year last year? I'm not complaining about it at least we can plan ahead. Hope it continues doing it --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 91.107.238.114 (talk).

If this continues much longer a prediction should be put on the main page. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 91.109.160.177 (talk).
It hasn't been completely exact, sometimes a week off though it is similar, it might only warrant a note rather than a prediction, besides, what's next weekend, Hero Battles? Codex Arena? Taros 17:25, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
It's not likely that a weekend event prediction will be placed on the Main Page, as the item Nicholas Sandford is collecting, Wanted by the Shining Blade, and the Zaishen Mission, Bounty, and Combat all have valid predictions, but the predictions don't appear on the Main Page. To propose changes to the Main Page, go to Talk:Main Page/editcopy. --Silver Edge 00:56, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
If it continues to follow the same order as the 2009 weekend events, it will be Codex Arena next weekend (6 August), since there's no more Hero Battles and the last time it was the Codex Arena weekend (16 April 2010), it was in place of the Hero Battles weekend (17 April 2009). It has been "completely exact" since the 5th anniversary weekend in April and even the weekend before the 5th anniversary, as I mentioned earlier in this comment, had Codex Arena (2010) in place of Hero Battles (2009). --Silver Edge 00:56, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
The onofficial german wiki has a prediction on the front page, might be an idea to see for a while how acurate it is, and if proven acurate, do the same thing here82.170.196.12 18:17, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Login announcements?

Anyone else not seeing the login announcements anymore? Is that why the weekend event is listed yet?--75.67.32.55 14:58, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Um, the login announcement usually rolls over to the new one when we get the weekend event. We haven't gotten it yet, so we still don't have a login announcement. I'm starting to wonder what's going on. I mean....it's Thursday. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 15:50, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Should be up, but if it follows the pattern, it'll be the lucky weekend. Someone probably forgot to flip that switch prior to going on vacation after playing the GW2 demo. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 16:04, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Good point. I didn't think about that. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 16:52, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Well, it's Friday and past noon pacific time, but I'm not getting any results with double point returns. Anyone noticing or can confirm this? 146.151.102.80 19:25, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
I have 2 guild members saying the same thing. --Silver Edge 19:59, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Last time this event happened was during the Wintersday redux if I remember, and the thing was that both "events" were running for the same weekend, so that might've thrown off the cycle. Or like Freedom said, someone probably forgot to flip a switch somewhere.146.151.102.80 20:13, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Triple key drop rate and double Lucky and Unlucky points when using lockpicks on chests ?

I am not seeing any Triple key drop rate.

Same here started playing at approx 3pm est until 1am and saw no triple drop rate at all. 204.237.37.99 13:25, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
Tripling drop rate doesn't do a ton since lockpick drop rate is already so low. The real event is the double lucky/unlucky--75.67.32.55 13:51, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
I haven't seen any increase in key drops either. What I have seen, is that every single lockpick I use is breaking on first attempt :( Am almost tempted to not open any chests until this is over, as its killing my retention rate 204.10.131.19 19:19, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

November 26-28, 2010

I know it won't be added until it's officially announced which kind of sucks but the next event will be Special Treats Weekend. 67.77.74.216 23:41, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Alliance Battles Bonus Weekend

Wow, this weekend it will only take 2 hours to join a match! Good job Areanet! 84.24.4.139 08:54, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Double Lucky/Unlucky Points and Triple Keydrop Weekend

In the last three days I had three vanquish runs in Vabbi. I dropped no less than six runes in each run, most of them major, then supreme, and one minor rune. Just one key drop in all. I dropped two supremes just in the last Heket's group! Am I the only one feeling this is a bit strange? Maybe it has something to do with the Weekend. Helge --93.70.153.101 11:31, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Are you saying that it seems strange to you that you found more gold runes than lockpicks? The drop rates for both runes and gold items is much higher than that for lockpicks, even considering the triple weekend. The thing about randomness: expect to see some random results.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:28, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Can we please have a Double Kurz/Lux weekend? Last one was 13 August 2010.  :(
See Weekend events/2010; ANet tends to follow the same pattern (as 2010 was exactly the same as 2009, with obvious exceptions). Expect the next K/L at the end of Feb.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:13, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Double SS/LB Points soon?

Come on, the last one was in the beginning of September. :( The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.224.71.5 (talk • contribs) at 7:33, 1 February 2011 (UTC).

See Weekend events/2010 for the likely schedule. 2010 followed 2009 (and 2009 followed 2008) with obvious exceptions.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:55, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Weird

I definetely thought I saw a bonus for Heroes' Ascent :S 86.88.86.253 07:24, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

According to my predictions, Heroes' Ascent should take place next week. Thot 15:16, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
According to last year's schedule, Heroes' Ascent should indeed be next. Perhaps it was changed because ANet is trying to push the popularity of Codex?Ziggurat 05:02, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
The Wintersday redux last year overlapped with two weekend events. The first was double lucky and it seems likely that the second was Codex. 24.197.253.243 07:47, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

February gone we now have 11 months a year?

Who messed up there? LOLS Yoshida Keiji 16:01, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

February is there.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:09, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

The Pattern is dead. Long live the Pattern! (the new one, that is!)

I'm guessing that either somebody messed up somewhere, or they decided it was too much like hard work keeping the years in sync in amongst all the special events... Cynique 16:15, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Then I hope the next double VQ reward and/or double Kurzick/Luxon weekends are earlier than the predicted end of May. Couldn't max it last weekend :p. Judas 17:43, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Worst and strangeist part is EoTN double points was only 2 months ago! Why do it again so soon? I have those titles capped I really was looking forward to the double faction bonus, oh well.... --98.238.87.246 02:22, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Apparently, people are getting double for JQ, not for eotn. The pattern is ok, it's ANet using the wrong announcement, apparently.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:19, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Late or left out with update?

Not getting double points--86.42.69.88 20:16, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

note on wiki, advertised the wrong event. truely double points in competive missions Ocren 23:27, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

EOTN REP or DBL competative?

moved from Talk:Game updates

Login screen now says Double luxon and Kurzick in competative missions... so which is it EOTN or double Lux/Kurz? 69.242.196.134 00:17, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

It was always competitive mish; ANet goofed on the announcement.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:57, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Caused quite a few of my guildies to go and vanquish areas they wouldn't have otherwise chosen to ^. Ah well master of the north pts. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 00:59, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Big bleh on that. I spent hours working on EotN rep points on various characters last night to the exclusion of other things, assuming words were true. 208.66.245.115 17:17, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

this weekend

i think it is safe to say its going to be something to do with April fools.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 22:23, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Double green drops...

Does this mean double drop rate for the WiK minis too in the case of WiK bosses too haha? I guess not but would be awesome if it was true lol. PalkiaX50 18:47, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

2x 0.00000001% is still only 0.00000002% (I might, of course, have slightly exaggerated the low drop rates for green items.)  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:55, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

no event

ok this weekend im sure its sweet treats event, but no confirmation? if we dont get the annual event they must be planning something big for next weeks birthday celebrations :P Spark-TBa 18:26, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
