This issue was brought to my attention by the QA team and the Technical Support team. The problem is the information in the link is not something the Tech Support Team recommends. There are a few reasons for this, according to the team:

1. Most of the suggested fixes do not work.
2. The one that does work required 3rd party software to play Guild Wars without any crashes, and we do not support third party software to run the game with.
3. The post has been closed by the forum moderator, and the mod has told players that the information is outdated and could potentially damage your computer.

[edit] Possible crash fixes?

I have never crashed in this game up till now, but seeing that it is a common thing made me feel a lot better, but I would also like to know if anyone has found a way to fix this (other then buying a new graphics card) because my main PvE character is stuck there and every time I try to play him Guild Wars crashes on me. I've tried lowering the graphic levels to as sucky as they can get as well as lowering my resolution to as low as possible, and still nothing has worked so if anyone has any solution please post here.--MxBadBoy 00:57, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

I know this is ill-recommended by the ArenaNet staff and I'm not sure if this is against the EULA, but you can ask a close friend of yours to log on your file from his or her own computer and take your character to a different outpost. This is how my cousin got over this problem.

try minimizing the game while the place loads, and keep it minimized for about a minute or two.
