Does this actually have any effect other than being drunk, and saying pirate stuff rather than "I'm king of the world!"? 204.62.200.20 19:46, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yarr. Saphatorael 19:57, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Haha you need to drink a bottle of gorg to get the consumable effect. But were do you get those, who now who now YarYar. 145.53.242.142 20:12, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Is this perchance a celebration of Talk Like A Pirate day coming up on the 19th September ;-) --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 20:54, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Refference to the GotW, Pirates of the Searing[Yoho] maybe? -- 87.208.78.61 21:06, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Not a reference to GotW, it's for Talk Like a Pirate Day (post from Regina Buenaobra (may be on the wiki somewhere, too)) --Nkuvu
21:17, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- That post mentions "Corsairs." What corsairs? 66.91.223.207 02:37, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- The Corsairs in major cities, of course. Check out the NPCs in Lion's Arch, Kamadan and... maybe Kaineng Center (haven't been there today). --Nkuvu
04:29, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- I can confirm that there aren't any in Kaineng Center. -- Gordon Ecker 07:51, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- No Corsair has the guts to waltz into Kaineng Center!

I think we can fairly assume that "king of the pirates" is not in fact a reference to "One Piece." Vote to remove that blurb. 69.3.146.8 16:37, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. The correlation seems to be pretty tenuous, it's not like "King of the pirates" is a unique phrase. This trivia is being repeatedly added to the page by one user, though, so I didn't want to remove it for a revert-war. --Nkuvu

- Ahahaha. Good thing I read this, I was about to add it myself. It's too bad that you don't continue to say pirate things if you stay drunk with other drinks.204.107.82.210 00:39, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps the trivia note should be replaced by one about the various modified "normal" drunk quotes. 24.179.144.91 02:16, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Aquisition
Was doing Sanctum Cay hard mode, and bottles of grog dropped from:
- White Mantle Justicar
- White Mantle Savant
- White Mantle Seeker
- Edgar the Iron Fist

[edit] Quotes?
Start listing them.
"Jolly Roger? More like mildly amused Roger"-
"I be a pi- *hic*. I be a pi- *hic*. I be a pi- *hic*. I schteal things." Or something like that.
"The more we drink the better we sing".
"I be feelin' a bit groggy".
"Narr! Treacherous Grog! Not again!"- Vanguard 20:46, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- "I'm the king of the pirates!" <- I think it's simply a pirated version of the normal drunken quote: "I'm the king of the world" --

[edit] Emotes
I've seen my character /sit and /taunt involuntarily.- Vanguard 20:47, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

- Usual drunk random emotes aren't they?- TheRave

- Oh, maybe. Never went for drunkard so I don't know if it's tied to the Grog or just general intoxication.- Vanguard

- Drunk has a list of emotes typically encountered when drunk, and Grog is causing some that are not on the list that I noticed (just glanced quickly.) 75.146.48.190 20:14, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Timer
So this is actually the first drunkard effect with a timer. Hopefully this timer is added to the other alcohol as well. --Arduinna

- Oh, you're right! I didn't notice that before. That means the only thing needed is a new icon and a general description for it. —Zerpha

- The timer is removed if you die and you will revert to normal dunken quotes and if you repeatedly die (like death leveling a new pet) the visual effects seem to go on and off. Laserblasto! 05:48, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- Timer is 3 mins, loveley ^^ now you can see when to pop a new bottle of grog! HAR HAR!(KILL MementoMori 21:59, 1 October 2009 (UTC))

[edit] Trivia
Ok, so here's some stuff that might relate to trivia. I don't know if this needs to be confirmed or anything, so I didn't post it in the article.
- "Drink up, me hearties!" -- Pirates of the Caribbean (Yo Ho! A Pirates Life for me!)
- "Arrr. It's a pirate's life for me!" -- Pirates of the Caribbean (Yo Ho! A Pirates Life for me!)
- "I be a pi-*hic*. I be a pi-*hic*. I be a pira-*hic*. I shteal things." -- Children's Church song reference [1]
- "It's all good fun, 'til somebody loses an...argghhh!" -- (It's all fun and games until ...)
- "Red sky at morning, pirates take warning. Oy! What color is the sky now?" -- Old nautical saying (Pink sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in morning, sailors take warning.)
- "Stagger, stagger, crawl, crawl..." -- Nadesico - A girl sneaks onto a ship, then sneaks around in it saying 'sneak sneak, tiptoe tiptoe...' [2] Probably not this, seeing as it's already in the trivia section
- "Who's yer rummy?" -- 'Who's your Daddy?'

- Do I see some lazy town references? ~_~ 84.92.16.13 19:56, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- "I be a pi-*hic*. I be a pi-*hic*. I be a pira-*hic*. I shteal things." sounds more like an episode of The Simpsons where Marge said "I'm being incar-*hic*. I'm being incar-*hic*. I'm being incarce-*hic*. I'm going to jail." Paddymew 19:21, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
"Yarr. I love ye, man! Yer a good man, mysterious stranger!" could be a reference to the "Mysterious Stranger" perk from the Fallout games. 78.157.114.58 16:29, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] I wonder...
Why does it say not to ride siege devourers or wield a weapon? What happens? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:24.233.221.209 (talk).
- It's to do with common sense, Don't Drink and drive & Giving someone who is very drunk a sharp object is just asking for trouble. Justified 12:42, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- Psh, I've given my drunk friends plenty of sharp objects. It's not all that dangerous, I mean my hospital bill isn't nearly as high as they said it would be. Aldarik 23:54, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
