Miasma[edit]

i went through this mission alone and ran past Yijo and the Farmer. When i got to the miasma cloud it seemed to take effect.64.180.169.2 08:07, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

bug[edit]

my friend and I did this mission in hard mode, but we walked past Master Togo at first, when he explains about the miasma. we killed the afflicted Yijo, and when we got Togo to join us again, we didn't get the added objective for killing him. might be a bug 86.91.141.232 16:41, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Bug[edit]

When i finished this Cooperative Mission it counted as a death so it might be a bug and bad for survivor Titles --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:BrunoMoreira (talk).

Are you sure you didn't die at some point before the mission? 'cause afaik, nothing in the mission causes a forced death (like Vizunah Square). --JonTheMon 15:07, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Unclear/Incorrect Notes[edit]

In the notes section, it states that Zen Daijun is required for non-factions characters to access Viznuh Square (Local Quarter). This is not my experience, nor does it coincide with the Local Quarter talk page. What it is, is a requirement for Factions-born characters to enter the Local Quarter, not for foreign characters, or the Foreign Quarter.

First time trying to post anything ... how bad did this turn out? lol. Eastern Blade 23:36, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

(old but still relevant) I think we should delete the current note, and just say that this is one of the missions required to be able to access Winds of Change content. -Chieftain Alex 20:54, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
Probably. I just updated it due to conflicting information (that was incorrect). - Infinite - talk 20:58, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
The Vizunah Square article still contains that info - so what is actually needed for a foreigner to access the local quarter? Steve1 (talk) 22:26, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
Afaik if you want to enter local quarter as a foreign char, then the Gate is normally locked. (independent of missions I think). In order to gain access, you have to be in the party of someone doing the quest to enter the local quarter (the quest then teleports you in when they say "everything is fine take the party in" or w.e it is.) -Chieftain Alex 22:36, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
or perhaps if the foreign char hasn't done Zen Daijun, then the Mayhem in the Market npc refuses the party access? -Chieftain Alex 22:37, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
A foreign character without a Canthan-native character as party leader in the process of completing Mayhem in the Market is unable to enter Vizunah Square (local quarter).
As to whether or not Zen Daijun is required to be finished on the non-native character I cannot confirm as I have finished it on all my non-native characters. - Infinite - talk 23:28, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
I know that you need to tag along with someone doing MitM as a foreigner. The question is: What happens if you haven't done ZD beforehand? IOW: Did Eastern Balde play a foreigner and tag along for MitM without having done ZD and still get teleported into the Foreign Quarter? Steve1 (talk) 22:34, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Honestly, it wouldn't make any sense that a foreign character needs to complete Zen Daijun prior to entering Local Quarter. Chronologically a foreign character arrives shortly after Factions charaters arrive in Kaineng City (after Zen Daijun). Therefore I assume nothing would actually keep these foreign characters from entering. However, if the original note is in fact accurate, the quest NPC will likely not let anyone in despite MitM being at that point. I wish I could confirm this for the wiki, but alas. - Infinite - talk 22:58, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
I can test it. I have a derv that hasn't completed Zen Daijun and I have access to a Factions-only account that has a character that hasn't completed Mayhem in the Market. --Silver Edge 01:37, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Could I leech the outpost when you do test this (or rather directly after you've tested this, before accepting the quest reward)? - Infinite - talk 01:40, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Storywise it wouldn't no. But I don't know how the Q/mission chain has been implemented. For Cantha chars ZD isn't a direct prereq for MitM, but maybe ZD sets a flag or something. It just depends on the implementation by ANet.
@SE: That would be cool! :) Steve1 (talk) 16:49, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Sure, Infinite. I have your character name (Scholar Infinite) from your user page on my friends list. --Silver Edge 08:39, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
Guardsman Pei during Mayhem in the Market.jpg
Tested and my derv that hasn't completed Zen Daijun wasn't able to enter the Local Quarter. My Factions character was sent into the Local Quarter during Mayhem in the Market while my derv (and the derv's heroes) was left behind. Note that my derv hasn't completed Minister Cho's Estate, Zen Daijun nor Imperial Sanctum, but has completed Vizunah Square from Foreign Quarter. --Silver Edge 10:28, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
Excellent, thank you! Then we can close this chapter. ;) Steve1 (talk) 14:52, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
One more question: On the MitM page is say "Non-Factions characters who have completed Zen Daijun can reach Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) by joining a Factions character that leads the party and has this quest." - assuming that Infinite was tagging along and that he had done ZD: Who led the party? And did it make a difference in case Infinity led? Steve1 (talk) 14:56, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
We can still test this, though I am almost safely assuming Silver Edge's character would split up from the party and enter by itself if I would lead the party. - Infinite - talk 15:09, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
My derv led when I first tested it with my derv and Factions character. Then I tested it a second time with the Factions character as leader with the same result. I can test it again with one of my non-Faction characters that has completed Zen Daijun to see if it depends on whether the character with Mayhem in the Market is leading or not. I could also test if completing Zen Daijun on the derv is the only prerequisite (since he hasn't completed any Factions mission except for Vizunah Square from Foreign Quarter) that would allow him entry into Local Quarter during Mayhem in the Market. But I probably won't be testing those until I finish completing the Canthan New Year quests on all my characters. I'll look for you online Infinite. --Silver Edge 20:35, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
The test with your non-Faction char would be useful. OTOH we can just leave the notes on the 3 pages and that's that. Unless your accademic curiosity has been sparked. I'm fairly confident that there aren't any other prereqs. That would've been reported before. But of course I won't try to hold you back. ;) Steve1 (talk) 23:05, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
Tested with Infinite and it turns out it doesn't matter who the party leader is. The entire party was sent to Local Quarter when Infinite's character lead the party with my Factions character that had Mayhem in the Market active. --Silver Edge 03:59, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

North/South Route[edit]

Any difference between which route to use? Anyone studied to see if one is easier for a given profession?
