Flawed Point system[edit]

(2000 * score) / (Quarterly Best #1 score). * is a multiplier and / is the symbol for division. Quarterly Best is 102,144. So with 1 point:

  • Luxon Faction=(2000 * 1) / (102,144)= 0.02
  • Experience=(2000 * 1) / (204,288)= 0.01 Experience
  • Gold= (2000 * 1) / (408,576)= 0.005 Gold

If I want at least to earn 100 gold:

(2000 * x) / (408,576)= 100 G

=> x = [100(408,576)]/2000=> 20,428.8 pts. needed.

If I want at least 500 factions

x = [500(204,288)]/2000=> 51,072 pts. needed

So as soon as someone hits a "break point", this becomes a useless challenge until 90 days has passed. This places need reworks or a total conversion into something else. Where can I take these suggestion to? Who in development is in charge of this places?--ShadowFog 16:11, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

This is crap, I just did up to wave 6 with 101 points and got 1 Luxon Faction. WOW?!?! 1 FACTION!?!? -kaheiyeh 07:11, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
It's not fixed but they've added additional rewards. So now if you don't get a price at least you can walk out with some factions in your pocket.--65.23.203.3 12:38, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

No Walkthroughs[edit]

Other are the same, no walkthrough on how to beat this areas with at least 100. All Naga Warriors and Archers are equip with unblockable builds synergizing with their Ritualist build of casting Nightmare Weapon. We should at least make a walkthrough to help the player on this unblockable mobs that consist of almost of more than 12 level 24 enemies at the same time which is the only part that causes a headache.--ShadowFog 05:26, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

You can "beat" this by using a permasin (either yourself or sin hero) to intercept/tank/destroy the groups coming from the left side of the priest (i.e. southern and western groups) whilst letting henchmen destroy those coming from the right side. After a while there will be nothing left but turtles and adepts; you're free to then leave them there to accrue points (they do not approach the priest) and then kill them (easily done with poison/ bow) at your leisure when you finally get bored and want to cash in your points. Hope this helps.-- User:Guile

It's not posted on the main page but at least anyone curious enough to pass through discussion page can at least have the pleasure of the info. Thanks.--ShadowFog 14:01, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

27 Mins and henchmen couldn't take the damage given to them with just 6 player on the R side with perma taking out the W + S. Seems kinda tough on the old henchmen to have a challenge they're incapable of completing.
*I guess you could use a perma on each side + have another 6 players running around the back of the map + killing the lvl 28 Luxon Adepts 27 minutes in .. = 30 pts per adept.. Can't see this failing unless the perma kills the wrong outcasts at the start [ instead of the necros, which provide you with bleeding unless killed]. I used A/E with Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support + Signet of Infection to kill the necros. (also had a monk bonder with succor + mending with Light of Deliverance to heal out the life stealing. )--File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 14:21, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Had success with the above description. Used Grail of Might, Essence of Celerity to make maintaining Shadow Form easier on the hero [ disabled skills and manually cast all required stuff ]. Using human helpers on the hero SF tank side they can kill the first wave's Outcast Necromancers, and eventually on my own perma I was able to Sniper Support them to death. The human group can start killing Adepts at about 21 minutes in for 21 pts each. Also used Signet of Infection to disease foes to death around my sin. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 17:51, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Faction cap increase ?[edit]

I know scoring over 100 (for the first time) in this mission increases your faction cap, but this isn't noted on the page. Does anyone know/care to expand the article ? Clan Yumemiru 09:37, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Easily Farmed?[edit]

Ok i was wondering, if you were to take Priest Calibos under the bridge to get him stuck, and you also go a SF/Commando team to ball up EVERY group that comes, followed by a 100b/MoP nuke or a fire ele spike to kill everything there. Would this work? I know Outcasts have Chilblains and Naga ritualists have KD in Grasping Was Kuurong. Flaming Hot Chilli 02:07, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

I figured they'd have fixed the AFK farm by now. I'm too busy playing WoW to care. Vael Victus Pancakes. 18:28, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
The enemies don't drop any items, and you only get 1 Faction per kill. Not really anything to farm by killing the large mob other than experience, and there are easier places to farm that. Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 18:43, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
So long as none of them have healing spells on their bar, it should work... but it seems kinda pointless since you'll probably fail a spike and wipe.71.246.212.134 02:43, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
The idea what that you left it on over night and got magnet with the factions. 72.221.79.87 15:54, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
How about forgetting the waves and spiking the Adepts right at the start? They give 101 faction each, and I managed to kill 2 of them before the starting timer expires... I'm sure that with a proper build people can kill 3-4 before the Priest dies. Or then just use a Tank to prot the Priest? This should result in 300-400 faction/round, but the rounds are fairly short so it might actually stack up... Jeree95 14:05, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

PVX has a working team for the AFK farm. If you don't have 2nd Rit or mercs, you can run the build reliably with an Ele hero substitute. Jervoodoo (talk) 18:24, 20 November 2022 (UTC)

Ridiculously high scores?[edit]

I'm noticing that some of these scores are crazy high while all the rest are just a few hundred. What's up with that?

Holy cow how exactly do they get such high scores? I just zoned in there (It's been a while) and noticed 11.000+ scores, So yeah what is up with that? T1Cybernetic User T1Cybernetic Glob of Ectoplasm.png 17:37, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Heard theres a bug which stops the turtles from moving, so they go afk and rack up the points.. Xlabratx 21:14, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Bugged[edit]

Tried this Challenge Mission for first time tonight. At wave 8 the Turtles never attack. This allows people to go AFK and rack up high scores and free Luxon faction via the "Held Out" bonus. Looking at the Challenge Ladder I'm obviously not the first one to discover this! In fact looks like hundreds, if not thousands already know about it.

ANet have said in the past that gaining advantage while AFK is on par with botting and a breach of the terms. This bug clearly allows this situation to happen (Albeit a bug in the game). I suggest disabling this Mission until a fix can be found. I will not be taking advantage of the bug, but from the Ladders many plainly are.

The playing field is now slainted towards those prepared to expoit this bug. Anyone with any influence with the powers that be.....kindly at least make them aware....ty --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.82.165.98 (talk).

Confirmed, happened to me on first try, added bug template. User RolandOfGilead sig.png Roland of Gilead talk 10:36, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Good place to test 7 heroes[edit]

Flagged while you watch them fight. --Little Red Ruin 11:11, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Great place, I've refined my hero builds so that they so strong they can go through all the waves to the turtles without any of my input.--Little Red Ruin (talk) 23:39, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Resign[edit]

A weird little thing - resigning seems to unbug the turtles. As soon as my team resigns (while standing next to Calibos), the bugged turtle groups march straight to the island during the 15-second countdown. -- kazerniel (talk | contribs) 11:53, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

Hmm on further tries, this only seems to happen occasionally. -- kazerniel (talk | contribs) 11:53, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
