[edit] Walkthrough
This quest may be divided in different parts. The players begin outside of the Margonite City itself, where many Margonite groups stand in long patrol patterns - it's important to pull each group individually, making sure that the players do not stand on the patrol route of other enemies. It's wise to kill the Margonites standing on the City's walls - they are out of range from melee characters, but they are able to hit players thanks to being elementalists and rangers, and so ranged sources of damage are capable of destroying them.
After all enemies outside have been killed, Captain Sulahresh will move foward and the gates for the city itself will open. Inside, there are more Margonite groups, similar to those outside - the same strategies work here, with the advantage that it's possible to use the terrain for the players' benefit (such as when attacking enemies through walls).
Once all enemies have been killed, the quest itself will be over, and it becomes possible to accept the quest reward from Captain Sulahresh (a good way of removing Death Penalty for the group). However, once the quest reward has been accepted, Lord Jadoth and his army of Margonites will arrive through the gate leading to the Stygian Veil. There will be four groups of Margonites; the first will rush to the city gates, and does not have any boss. It may be easily defeated by having the players to stand on the hill right inside the city, and using a puller to lure the enemies so they may be attacked from above.
The second and the third groups will each have a boss, Shaunur the Divine and Turep, Maker of Orphans. These groups are also significant larger than the previous one and may pose a threat to players who engage them head on. After both groups have been destroyed, Lord Jadoth himself and his group will step forward, standing in front of the gate to the Stygian Veil. Those enemies have two Margonite monks, and so may be hard to defeat.
A strategy to defeat the three boss groups is by forcing them to split. Each of the three groups moves as a single whole, so directly pulling them will result in an entire group following. However, if players stay within the walls of the city, at the eastern position of the map, it's possible to use a Longbow to attack and so pull the enemies. Some will try to hit the players through the walls, while others will move all the way around the city gate and so engage the players directly - when that happens, if the players retreat, all enemies will try to move directly back to their original position, and those who are within the city walls will be separated from those outside. This will end in smaller groups that are easier to defeat.
Once all enemies have been killed, the Mallyx the Unyielding quest will update and a Torc'qua Chest will spawn. It will give a Margonite Gemstone for each player.
[edit] Dialogue
[edit] Initial dialogue
Captain Sulahresh
- "The Margonites hold fast in the city called Torc'qua, with reinforcements arriving from all across the Realm of Torment. If we do not break their stranglehold soon they will gather enough force to press us back."
- "Will you charge into Torc'qua and cleanse it of the Margonite infestation?"
- Accept: "I was born ready.
- Decline: "I want my mommy."
- When asked about quest: "Go to Torc'qua and destroy the Margonites."
[edit] Reward dialogue
Captain Sulahresh
- "Good work. Purging the city may be a temporary measure but it allows us a foothold for the rush into the Ebony Citadel. Mallyx the Unyielding must pay."
