Turai's Procession is the long stretch of rocky and barren terrain in northern Kourna. There are small villages on both the eastern and western edges of the area. The Ancestor Tree of the centaurs can also be found in this area, towards the west, near the western human village.

[edit] Getting there

Follow the quest marker of the primary quest Crossing the Desolation; it will lead you from Venta Cemetery to the Gate of Desolation.

Or you might follow the quest Centaur Concerns to a spot near the center and then find your own way to the northwestern corner.

[edit] Notes

  • This area is clearly named after Turai Ossa, but the "Procession" may refer to the march of his army towards the Battle of Jahai or him leading settlers to the Crystal Desert. Geographically, the latter is more likely.
  • These quests affect the spawns in this area:
  • Complete exploration of this area contributes approximately 3.4% to the Elonian Cartographer title, the largest in Kourna.
    • It should be noted that there is a small strip of land towards of the center of the eastern edge that has permanent fog overlapping it, despite having been explored.
  • Vanquisher runs of this area without active quests requires defeating around 200 foes. Including quest influences, it has been reported to range from 163 to 240.
    • The quest chain offered by Mirza Veldrunner will greatly increase the number of foes in this area.
    • If you have not yet completed the Troubled Lands quest (part of the aforementioned quest chain), there will be Tormented Lands near the middle of the area.
      • Killing one will spawn another a short distance away until ten of them are killed, at which point an Earthen Abomination will spawn instead. These spawns are actually part of that quest but they spawn regardless of whether you have accepted the quest or not. Killing them the first time will give experience points and will count towards the vanquisher total. Strangely, they will respawn after 2 minutes. Subsequent kills do not contribute experience points and do not contribute towards the total kills. To vanquish the area, each spawn has to be killed only once.
      • This previously contributed to an exploit on gaining Lightbringer points. Players would accept the Elemental Hunt bounty nearby and would leave the Guild Wars game client running, leaving the heroes and the henchmen to repeatedly kill the Tormented Lands that just kept spawning. This exploit was resolved by the appearance of a Wandering Priest instead of a Whispers Informant if the Troubled Lands quest has not been completed.
Tormented Lands will spawn regardless of whether the quest Troubled Lands was accepted or not. However, they no longer spawn once the quest has been completed.
