Update - Wednesday August 2[edit]

General[edit]

  • Added a support button in the menu which has links to various support topics such as Offensive names, Technical issues, and other topics found via the support portal.
  • Players now have the ability to buy back items that were sold by mistake. The merchant will only hold the items for a certain amount of time!
    • In order to prevent abuse with stocking up items at the merchant for a little bit, players will have to pay a charge to get their items back.
  • Titles may now be collapsed to a separate list at the bottom of the window. Players will no longer have to worry about seeing titles they will never complete!
  • Text size is now independent of the interface size. A new slider controls how large or how small the text is.
  • The Observer Mode window now remembers if you have hidden one of the headings.
  • The friends list now remembers if you choose to hide one of the headings.
  • Guild History has been revamped. The main tab shows the ladder games for that day as well as current gain/loss in ladder rank and points. The next tab shows the ladder games for that week as well as the gain/loss in ladder rank and points over that week. The 3rd tab shows the Ladder games for the past month as well as the current gain/loss in ladder rank and points. The 4th tab shows all of the games of that season as well as the total gain/loss in ladder rank and points. The last tab is titled “Events” to display new members, promotions, players who left the guild and players who were kicked over the past month.
  • Offline players in the guild window are now separated in their own heading called “Offline”. This heading can be closed just like “Leader”, “Officers”, and “Members”.
  • Collapsed headings in the guild window are now saved.
  • Added new Player Status: Friends Only! Only players on your Friends List may message you once this is on.

Game Improvements[edit]

  • Armor previews have been added!
    • Previewing armor is extremely simple! Talk to an armor salesman and click the “Eye” next to each armor piece. Upon clicking the eye a new window will pop up displaying your character wearing that piece. Up to five pieces of armor can be previewed at a time (one for each armor space).
    • Click the eye again to take away that piece of armor. Or click the eye of a different kind of armor of the same piece to change it.
    • This window will stay open so the player may test dye colors on the armor. The only way to get rid of the armor preview is to close the window.
  • Added new tabs for the Character ID window; These tabs are for Chapter specific content in order to keep the main tab clean. (See previous update)
    • New Guild Wars: Factions tab added. This window displays your guilds Faction, total Kurzick and Luxon faction, Alliance Battle: wins, losses, and win ratio, Fort Aspenwood: wins, losses, and win ratio, and Jade Quarry: wins, losses, and win ratio.
    • New Guild Wars: Nightfall tab added. Information to be announced.
    • Added new character profile space. This profile has a limit of 250 characters.
  • Dye previews have been added!
    • In order to test dyes talk to a Dye salesman. After this the same window as the Armor preview will pop up except this time with the addition of all of the main dye colors.
    • Dyes can be tested on armor and weapons. There are two toggles for armor: Current armor and Previewed armor.
    • You can mix dyes in order to get new colors by dragging them into a preview box. The color combination is saved along the bottom as well as the cost in order to buy all of the colors used. All of the colors can be sold in one bottle to make things easier!
  • You may now link weapons in team chat, private chat, guild chat, alliance chat, and the trade channel.
    • Linking an item is the only way to show it off! Open one of the designated chat channels and control click an item in your inventory to link it! People have the option of clicking the link to view an image of the item as well as the information of the item!
    • This feature can be turned off in the options menu.

  • Rare and common materials can no longer be sold to the merchants.
    • In the case that one does not have a stack of 10 to be sold to the common materials trader, the trader will take any amount at a reduce price based on how much a stack of 10 would sell for. The amount it sells for will be more than the merchant offered.

    • Keys can also be crafted with certain materials

  • Common and rare material traders inventory has been reorganized for neatness. Because of the addition of more materials in future chapters the material trader interface has been revamped to save room and keep it clean. Icons of the materials appear (the icons that are found in ones inventory) in rows instead of having one material per row.
  • The selling interface no longer fills in the max materials you can sell: You must manually input how many you want to sell.
  • Traders now display "Yesterdays Peak Price" of buying and selling to give an idea of how the item has been fluctuating according to supply and demand.

The Canthan Cartographers and the Tyrian Cartographers have collaborated together and created one big map for everyone to use!

  • Other chapters’ continents will be added regardless if the account owner does not own the chapter. However that continent cannot be accessed until that chapter is added.
  • Continents that cannot be accessed will have their colors toned down a little.
  • Players may still use the current system if the new one proves to be laggy because of all the art. Each continent can also be accessed the old way via buttons along the bottom of the map. A drop down menu will have: Battle Isles, Cantha, and Tyria.
  • Fully explored areas will now have a star appear next to their name in the map window.

Charr Slayer has dropped a Truncheon for Branskins!

Trade Improvements[edit]

  • Auction Houses
    • Dear Citizens,

Because of the new trade network between Tyria and Cantha, demands for goods have skyrocketed! In order to keep things civil the Xunlai have worked together to come up with the best solution! The new Auction Houses located in Lions Arch and the Marketplace are available! The Xunlai are going to determine if more Auction Houses will need to be opened around the world!

  • New Trade Interface
    • Speak to a Xunlai Manager in Lions Arch or The Marketplace to start trading with players from around the world! The new trade interface allows an easy way for one to get their items and goods on the market.
  • Beginning an Auction
  • In order to begin an auction, you must talk to a Xunlai Manager and click "Create Auction" located in the upper left corner of the window, doing so will bring you to a new window. You should see the following:
    • A box to drag your item
    • Starting price/ buyout price
    • Current price the merchants are asking for
    • Time on the market: 8 Hours, 16 Hours, 1 Day, 2 day
    • Create auction. Upon pressing this a new window will pop up with all of the information you have provided.
  • To prevent people spamming items in the Auction House, players will need to deposit a certain amount of money
  • Searching for items
  • Besides starting auctions one can also buy items! The interface is made easy to buy items:
    • Search for your item. Enter the name of the item you are looking for, or enter the name as close to the item you are looking for. Hit enter!
    • Narrow it down a little! All of the items are broken down into each profession: Warrior, Monk, Ranger, Mesmer, Necromancer, Elementalist, Assassin and Ritualist. Upon clicking the profession another menu will popup with the appropriate type of weapons, i.e. warriors have axes, swords, hammers, etc..
    • Find the item you need? Double click it and place a bid or press the buyout key to buy the item! If you were successful visit your storage and talk to the Xunlai agent to recieve your item.
  • To read more about the new "mail" system read the UI Improvements below!

UI Improvements[edit]

Mail System

  • The mail system originally seen in the E34E event is back!
    • Send mail to friends who are offline! Simply open your menu, click "Mail" and type the name of the friend you want to send it to! Once you are done writing, click send!
    • Send gold and items to friends! You may also place requirements to receive the item. For instance if you are trading your friend a Godly Staff for 15 platinum, your friend must reply to the message with 15 platinum in order to receive the item!
  • When you are the winner of a bid, or your auction fails your items or gold will be mailed to you. In order to receive this kind of mail, you must talk to your local Xunlai Agent aka storage to receive your things!

Balthazar Faction[edit]

  • Faction cap increased to 15,000 from 10,000
  • New faction reward! You may now buy Battle Crests at the Priest! These Battle Crests cost 1600 faction and are useful for setting up your friend with skills that they do not have. A Battle Crest works by clicking on it in your inventory and dragging and dropping the skills onto a skill bar. The player then sends it to a friend or party member where they can use the whole skill bar or just a couple of the skills.
    • The skills will only last for 8 hours or until you return to an outpost after the 8th hour.
    • The friend may purchase these skills for 200 less than what they go for at the Priest!
  • New Scroll of Balthazar's Insight! This scroll reads: For 10 minutes your party gains double faction from enemies. This scroll will last 10 minutes no matter what team you are on. In the case of losing and being sent back to a district, the scroll times out until you reenter a pvp mission. Your whole party gains this benefit.
