Herein is contained my take on the Hall of Monuments and what changes, if any, I would like to see. I plan on submitting this to ANet if I may. Feel free to add to my discussion on the talk page, and if you have any changes you would like to add, post them there. HoM-Userbox.jpg I support the suggestions presented by Elviondale regarding the Hall of Monuments.

Fellowship[edit]

Currently shows up to 5 of any of the following:

Proposed changes:

  • Keep this character-based
  • Keep heroes as they are, but add a way to organize them. I understand this is tricky coming from a code perspective, but why not be able to drop them? Also, order them so that the first to be added stays the first on the platform
  • Allow all pets to be displayed and remove the Animal Companion option.

Devotion[edit]

Currently displays minipets and collectibles

Taken from Talk:Hall_of_Monuments#Update_on_Miniatures_and_the_Hall_of_Monuments:
We have read your concerns about miniature customization. In the near future, we will be making changes to the Hall of Monuments system that will allow your character to receive credit for miniature ownership while still retaining the opportunity for any of the characters on the account to access and display the miniature. The design team is currently considering a few options for this change and they anticipate that they will make an update within the next several weeks. Those miniatures that were already customized will be retroactively included in the update and therefore will become accessible to other characters once that update is made. ~Gaile

Proposed changes:

  • Make this account-wide
  • Allow all minipets to be displayed
  • Incorporate a way to replicate customized minis. I do not dispute that customizing them is a good idea, however, I propose adding something similar to /bonus or the Festival Hat maker. To me, the current situation is most unacceptable. I do not troll or flame about it, but am petitioning so that this may be resolved. To me, collecting minis is an account-wide activity, not just character-based, such as getting heroes, quests, or titles.

Honor[edit]

Currently shows titles, accomplishments, and campaign completion

Proposed changes:

  • Character-based
  • Allow for all titles, both PvE and PvP.
  • Only award a bonus and ceremoniously display maxed titles.

Valor[edit]

Inclusion of Tormented weapons was announced 6/24/08
Revised Proposal:

  • Allow any weapons to be displayed, but in light of the GW2-transference issue this would cause, only reward certain items.
  • This would allow for users to display what they want and also not create the need for more bonuses in GW2

Original Proposal:

  • Character-based
  • Add slots for profession specific and campaign specific items, such as the following:
    • Prophecies Green (for the 6 core professions)
    • Prophecies Gold ( " " )
    • Factions Green (for core and factions professions)
    • Factions Gold ( " " )
    • etc...
    • Using this method would still have a static number of displayable high-end items while also being character-centric.
    • For instance, my Dervish would be able to display Hand of the Forgotten, Tormented Scythe, and EotN Gold/Green Dervish items
    • My Ranger, on the other hand, would be able to display 4 more weapons

Resilience[edit]

Currently shows all your ascended armor sets

User Elviondale tu.png

Proposed changes:

  • Character-based
  • Have 5 or so stands where you can put any armor piece in your inventory (customized to your character) on.
  • My ranger would then have only 2 stands to fill with his Primeval and Elite Studded Leather (optional: , but could also mix and match between those 2 sets if so desired and have the ability to make combinations on the other 3 models).

Conclusion[edit]

To anyone who reads this, please keep in mind that I suggest these respectfully and do not demand them as changes. I feel that what I have proposed here is a compromise to both sides and would require minimal changes to the current setup. Please remember to sign this petition on the talk page if you agree, and leave notes there if you don't. -elviondale
