Background[edit]

Fyona was born to a wealthy family in the new city of Surmia. Growing up as the only daughter of a wealthy landowner gave Fyona a very comfortable and sheltered life - which Fyona found intolerable. To make her life more interesting, she'd often play games and attempt to steal items of value from family friends whenever invited to their manors. By doing so, she came particularly adept at sneaking and avoiding confrontation.

At the age of 16, she became infatuated with a young hunter named Talis, whom she accidentally bumped into in some woods on her father's property. Rather than report the man in, she longed to live a life with so much freedom like his, so instead she made a deal with him. She promised not to tell her father of him illegally hunting on his land if he allowed her to accompany him on any adventures he would take. Talis was reluctant to at first but eventually agreed and from then on, Fyona learned how to master the use of the bow.

When Fyona was 20 years old, the town of Surmia was ransacked by the rampaging Charr. Fortunately, Fyona and her family managed to escape, learning of the imminent attack from scouting parties. Fyona was worried for her love, Talis but knew he was a competent hunter so surely he would be alright. Sadly, she learned later on that Talis was in fact helping to defend the town long enough to evacuate all its citizens. He along with many other men perished that day.

Distraught, Fyona decided to run away from home and make her own way through life, stealing or hunting whatever she needed to survive. She also vowed she would get revenge on the Charr and make them pay for the death of her beloved Talis.
