Born into poverty north of The Kodash Bazaar, Atieno was a willful and independent street urchin. Like many of her peers, she made a living from alleviating the richer denzines of Vabbi from the burden of having to carry their heavy coin purses with them. This simple existence ended however when Atieno choose the target of her next act of "kindness" unwisely, accidentally choosing one of the forsaken priests of Abaddon. Capturing the would be thief in the act, he stunned her. When she awoke, she found herself securely bound to an alter, and being offered up, by the surrounding priests as a sacrifice to Abaddon. In terror she sought for anyway to escape and found a hidden well of power buried deep inside her. Feeling a rush of power suffuse her body, she surrendered herself to oblivion. When she awoke for a second time, she discovered that all that remained of her assailants, was a circle of minions to do her biding. From that day on Atieno has been an ardent follower of Grenth, convinced that she was granted the power to save herself through him. She now seeks to use those powers, to send any who prey on the weak, to an early meeting with the God of Death.
