- Never enter battle with a boss with an empty skill slot (Shadowphoenix)
- Identify everything (worth at least 15g or so) before you sell it. Even white items will go up in value, paying for the identification kit, and then some. (Lord Ehzed)
- Always bring a res into pve, unless you discuss NOT bringing one with your team beforehand.( Ryudo)
- Don't fail. You can avoid failing by using good skills and not bad ones. (Y0 ich halt)
- Use skills that work together ("synergy"), but don't stack your whole bar only with skills depending on each other. (Y0 ich halt)
- When putting together a build, consider what the purpose of your character is and how each skill, specifically, accomplishes or compliments that goal. For extra bonus epic win, consider how all these skills compliment the skills your party members are bringing, as well. (uɐɥʇıǝɹ)
- The key to success within the realms of both PvE and PvP is that of solid and cohesive team work. Talk to your team mates and discuss what you will do in the upcoming attempt. Be aware that regardless of how experianced you are, other team mates oppinions and viewpoints are still valid, however also be aware that even though other peoples oppinion are still valid that doesnt make them right. Always use your better judgement in these instances and try to avoid being abrasive about clashes of oppinoin as its not conducive to either team synergy or what you are trying to achieve (Salome)
- "Only fight when you know you can win." This means if you see 6 guys running at your 2 and you don't have some some sort of massive trump card, GTFO. (uɐɥʇıǝɹ)
- Know your role. If you're the Monk, then try not to carry Elementalist skills. People expect you to heal. Also, do your research! Using this wiki can go a long way to your success! (People of Antioch)
- Protection prayers outpwn Healing prayers because preventing damage is better/more efficient than filling up red bars. Add in a heal like ZB, WoH or Gift of Health to be super cool.(Mango)
- I know im not gaile, but if you go into RA 1, bring a res sig it will help, if only to appease those more "agressive" people, and 2, dont worry about people when making builds, put together what you think will work and what will be fun. after all your playing it for you and not them, and for PvE... Just go have a go, theres nothing you can do wrong, if you die you die, if your new i doubt you'll be going for Survivor and if your not new, chances are you've already died. so win win. And thats about enough ranting for me. Goodbye(124.184.86.163) copied from User talk:Gaile Gray, was in wrong place
- Another advice would be to carefully read what skills do and try to join groups of real players to learn from them. Learning how skills work and how you can combine certain skills to create powerfull effects is the road to victory in guildwars. (SniperFox) copied from User talk:Gaile Gray, was in wrong place
- Try a build out Before you do a mission therefore you know if it will work or not and will save everyone grief (Kharilus)
- Don't piss off your monk. (MiraLantis)
- If you are finding an area hard, or even if you aren't, take a look at the wiki page for that explorable area or mission and see if any advice is given, e.g. skill recomendations, and have a look what enemies there are (e.g. If there area a lot of enemies which use hexes you might want to take some extra hex removal, or if you are against destroyers you would be able to note that they are resistant to burning). You can never lose anything by researching first. (FirstSunspear)
- Don't tank. Instead, use a character for it's damage abilities. Except your healers ofcourse ;) (Mini Me)
- Advice to assassins: remember you are not tanks. You are designed not as a powerhouse, but one that functions to take out a single enemy with a quick spike chain. Wait for others to charge in (I.E. warriors, elementalists) and wait for aggro to be established on them. in most battles, chaos will be reigning. but this is your time to strike quickly, and get out. find either the weakest target or a target that is causing the most damage to the team, and move in to take him out. (A shadow step is a good idea, so you don't have to run through enemies and perhaps establish aggro on yourself.) Your allies will usually finish off the rest, while you retreat and either pull from a secondary skill and/or heal. (Wandering Traveler)
- Never ever EVER take a res into AB. you'll be laughed at and it's not even useful.(Sum Mesmer Guy)
- Always be sure to know your allies well, and your enemies even better. (User:Raiala)
