Hello everyone, and Bonjour,

My name is Stéphane Lo Presti and I am the French Community Manager for Guild Wars. I am working at ArenaNet offices in Seattle as part of the Community Team, also comprising Martin Kerstein and Regina Buenaobra. I will be monitoring GW French fansites, and writing or editing French content for our various communication tools. You may also meet me in person at conventions or tournaments, which I will help organise and run.

I am also monitoring the wiki-related requests of the wiki community and relaying them to the studio, and in particular to the technical team handling the wiki. My focus is on the technical requests which concern administrative elements of the wiki, as well as general availability and performance of the wiki. I am not taking care of game-related requests (which should be sent to either Support, the feedback portal or one of the fansites).

I have been playing Guild Wars for over 3.5 years, enjoying playing varied PvE and light PvP (and watching it). I started playing pong on an early 80's console and have since then played many games, not all on the PC, always looking for an interesting new challenge. I like playing mages, science-fiction and solving puzzles. I will probably be playing an Asura in GW2 ;). I love MMOs as they bring together players and provide new social experiences. I really look forward to interacting and working with the GW community!

I was trained in France as a Software Engineer (while enjoying some cool extracurricular activities such as tabletop RPGs or robotics) but decided to boldly engage in a PhD and an academic career in the following 10 years. I taught varied IT topics to a wide range of audiences, while spending my free time participating to and studying the birth of online communities as we now know them. I have looked closely (and from many angles) at MMOs and social networking as they are probably the most interesting social tools out there!

Mon nom est Stéphane Lo Presti et je suis le Chargé de Communauté Francophone pour Guild Wars. Je travaille dans les bureaux d'ArenaNet à Seattle au sein de l'Equipe Communauté d'ArenaNet, qui comprend aussi Martin Kerstein et Regina Buenaobra. Je suivrai les fansites GW français, et écrirai ainsi qu'éditerai le contenu en français de nos différents outils de communication. Vous pourrez aussi me rencontrer en personne à des conventions ou tournois, que j'aiderai à organiser ou opérer.

Je suis également les demandes liées au wiki exprimées par la communauté wiki et les transmet au studio, et en particulier à l'équipe technique qui s'occupe du wiki. Je me concentre sur les demandes techniques, qui concernent notamment les éléments administratifs du wiki, ainsi que la disponibilité et la performance générale du wiki. Je ne m'occupe pas des demandes liées au jeu (qui devrait être envoyé soit au service d'assistance, être mis sur le portail de commentaires ou sur l'un des fansites).

J'ai joué à Guild Wars pendant plus de 3,5 ans, prenant plaisir à jouer du PvE varié et du PvP léger (et à le regarder). J'ai commencé à jouer avec Pong sur une console du début des années 80 et ai depuis joué à de nombreux jeux, pas tous sur un PC, cherchant toujours un nouveau défi intéressant. J'aime jouer des mages, la science-fiction et résoudre des énigmes. Je jouerais probablement un Asura dans GW2 ;). J'aime les MMOs car ils rassemblent les joueurs et fournissent de nouvelles aventures sociales. J'ai vraiment hâte d'interagir et de travailler avec la communauté GW!

J'ai été formé en France en tant qu'ingénieur logiciel (tout en profitant de certaines activités cool hors cursus telles que le Jeu de Rôle de table ou la robotique), mais ai décidé de m'engager audacieusement dans un doctorat et une carrière académique durant les 10 années suivantes. J'ai enseigné une variété de sujets informatiques à une large quantité de publics, tout en passant mon temps libre à participer et à étudier la naissance des communautés en ligne telles que nous les connaissons maintenant. J'ai regardé de près (et sous de nombreux angles) les MMOs et les réseaux sociaux car ce sont probablement les outils sociaux les plus intéressants du moment !
