Born close to Ascalon, Vana Runedottir has witnessed horrible things, seeing her country destroyed by the Charr. Just before the Searing, she joined the Ascalon Academy to fight for her country, and since then her adventures have taken her to Cantha, Elona, and the Far Shiverpeaks.
She leads an alliance of humans, known as the Astral Travellers.

Vana likes to mix and match her armour, and is disappointed that she can't display the combinations in her Hall of Memorial. She collects minipets, and has employed a keeper of her peculiar pets, called Peculiar Petunia. She wishes for a minipetting zoo, like the menagerie one day, and wishes she could visit friend's menageries too, even if it meant not being able to charm the animals while she was visiting.
