Mesmers are masters of illusion and control, subverting the enemy’s Energy for their own use, and that of their allies. Combined with any other profession, their skills provide excellent support, turning enemies’ powers against them and changing the very fabric of reality to hinder foes and help allies. Mesmers have the ability to cast spells quickly, which can make all the difference in the heat of battle. Their powers of domination allow them to take control of enemy skills and Energy. Their unique illusionary talents can slow or even halt enemy movement and skill casting, or cause imaginary illnesses that drain Health and Energy from foes while healing and energizing allies. While Mesmers are not known for brute strength, their ability to confuse, distract, and drain the enemy’s resources more than compensates.

Attributes[edit]

Fast Casting (Primary)[edit]

Increases the speed with which you cast spells, allowing you to cast more often for greater overall effect.

Domination[edit]

Increases the duration and effectiveness of your Domination spells, which allow you to disrupt and damage your enemies for their actions.

Illusion[edit]

Increases the duration and effectiveness of your Illusion spells, which deceive your enemies and hinder their movement, attacks, and ability to cast spells.

Inspiration[edit]

Increases the duration and effectiveness of your Inspiration spells, which steal Energy from enemies, remove enchantments, and prevent damage.

Common usage[edit]

Interrupts[edit]

Many Mesmer skills interrupt a target foe's actions. These skills can also steal energy, cause damage or disable skills. Combined with points in the Mesmer's primary attribute, Fast Casting, these already quick activating skills are even faster to cast.

Shut down[edit]

Domination skills put Mesmers in command of a foe's health and energy. They can force their foes to choose whether they should cast a spell or attack, when the consequence is loss of health or having their skills disabled (from skills such as Backfire, Empathy or Diversion).

Energy denial[edit]

Mesmers can call on Inspiration Magic skills (like Energy Drain) to steal energy directly from their enemies. By taking the energy of their foes they can reduce the foe's effectiveness, as well as provide extra energy for themselves for casting more offensive spells at their foes. Skills such as Energy Burn can also be used to directly destroy the enemy's energy.

Health degeneration[edit]

Illusion Magic skills can drain away the health of those that oppose them. Spells such as Conjure Phantasm or Conjure Nightmare can cause incredibly high health degeneration.
