I've played Guild Wars since its release, in April 2005. A friend (Auron Kryndhale in Guild Wars) and I were looking for a good MMORPG, but we were dissapointed by the monthly fees for most of them. One day, while I was reading an online magazine, I found information about the future (but imminent) release of Guild Wars. I've talked to Auron, and he was also aware of the good news. We went to purchase it the release date.
We founded a guild, Vigilantes de la Luz [VL], and we were recruiting people. It could have been a big guild, we had an emblem and a guild hall, and most people had no guild, so we could have had a lot of members.
But there were some problems:
- Neither Auron nor I liked PVP. So the people than liked PVP over all didn't want to enter our guild.
- Auron finished the game quickly, so he quit playing because the game didn't offer anything new for him.
- I got stuck in Sanctum Cay mission. So I also quit playing for a while.
- My brother (whose main character is Nara Ten) was the most interested in the game of the three of us, so he continued playing and trying to recruit people. But he eventually get bored of being in a guild where nobody was playing, so he left the guild and joined another one.
The release of Factions didn't change anything. I was playing the campaign as an assassin, but I got stuck again, and I stop playing.
But then, the Nightfall arrived. And with it, the heroes. They made the game more interesting, the story was also absorbing and I finished it with a dervish character. And I haven't stop playing since that.
With the heroes beside me, I also finished the prophecies. But the factions' Raisu Palace mission was impossible for me.
Finally, the Eye of the North appeared. It was, possibly, the easiest campaign for me. After that, the Factions was the only game that I couldn't finish. And with the experience from the other campaigns, I realized that I didn't know how to use an assassin, so I read a lot of articles in wikipedias about how to use them. After that, I finished the game.
Actually, I'm trying to get achievements, elite armors and weapons, and finish quests and dungeons that I hadn't finished before, like those of Domain of Anguish and Slaver's Exile. My brother came back to the guild, and Auron bought Nightfall. A friend of my brother, Magic Terfall, has joined the guild too, so we are currently four members.
