Being an offspring of a pen-and-paper roleplaying generation I favor the PvE part in GuildWars. I crave for good storylines, adventures and epic tales. PvE allows me to more freely choose my profession and build, not being maxed for the best performance in an arena but for the mere fun of playing, roaming and exploring the colorful continents of Tyria. For that purpose I am hopping from continent to continent, from campaign to campaign and from mission to mission, helping players in need with missions and quests.
From time to time I play some halfway-PvP in Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry and I quite like the combination of random human teams and hordes of NPCs.
I personally am not a big fan of farming for money or reputation points (although title-hunting forces me to the latter) and I try to avoid stupid and monotone things in a game. And even though I am possessed by GuildWars I still see it as a game, making me dislike inappropriate behaviour of other players. Being kind, respectful, helpful, relaxed and (most of the time) mature is what I would like this community to be - and what the most of us definitly are, luckily.
I am the "leader" of a tiny guild which is only consisting of my girlfriend and myself. Having turned into a night owl I prefer to play at night on the American servers because the European ones are simply deserted at that time of the day.

I started playing GuildWars in September 2007 after my (now) girlfriend told me about this game she was playing for months. I always had been trying to avoid MMORPGs knowing what devastating effect they would have on my free time. Furthermore I always disliked the kind of graphic and powergaming some of these games offer (not saying any names here in particular). But as soon as I saw the quite realistic graphic design (in means of coloring, textures and proportions) of GuildWars and the equality the level cap brings, I took my first steps. Being fascinated by Asian design, I immediately wanted to play Factions, creating my first Assassin...and bringing the art of being perma-dead to perfection. I learned my lesson "never run faster than your healer" and got more experienced. Not much later Prophecies, Nightfall and Eye of the North followed. Since then my account has been upgraded by several new character slots, the Bonus Mission Pack, the Factions Collectors Edition and the EotN pre-release pack. And some day the Prophecies Collectors Edition will follow...
