May I ask?[edit]

What are you trying to achieve? I thought you were editing from your IP to contribute without your history causing an issue, but you're bringing back an issue that should have died five months ago. Why? --Riddle 03:58, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

I didn't originally want to elaborate, as noted. Rainith wanted clarification. I gave it.
When people ask questions regarding my motives, I provide answers. Some people may not like those answers.
I had contributed at least twice while editing as an IP, though only by addressing a grammatical error on one talk page (in fear of being chastised for editing the mainspace for whatever reason) and clarifying the existence of a bug were a certain skill to trigger a certain effect on its respective talk page (for fear of the same). So, I have not been wholly useless to the wiki while editing as an IP. Of course, neither was I wholly useless while editing as a logged-in user, for I had constructive contributions then as well.
Tl;dr: It wasn't my original intent to beat a dead horse, but I answer the questions I'm asked. 76.106.245.213 14:44, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
Really? I'm pretty sure Rainith hadn't done anything for more than a month until you had edited his talk page with a bitter remark about (some of) the sysop team. It was only natural for him to ask about clarification. --Riddle 15:14, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
Did you read the whole section? My first comment was merely that I liked his quote and my opinion of it. It wasn't bitterness, it was relief, as I've noted several times. The off-hand remark afterward was simple honesty, no ulterior motive behind it. I think you're just reading too much into it, no offense. (On another note, I thought he was a she. My apologies.) 76.106.245.213 15:42, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
I'd appreciate it if you'd drop the subject, as I'd prefer not to be harassed into yet another unnecessary ban. 76.106.245.213 15:45, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure how you can't interpret "I wish all sysops held this very same standard. Unfortunately..." as not being a jab at a few sysops, especially given your circumstances. Out of respect for your wishes, I will leave it at that. However, I do ask that you be more mindful of how you are contributing; starting discussions that will inevitably circle back to your being banned won't do you any favors. --Riddle 23:18, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
Again, that wasn't the intent of the original comment. Again, because of past circumstances, someone has read more into a comment I've made than there really was. I'm not surprised. Since you're not sure how it can be interpreted differently, I'll explain. "I wish all apples were as delicious as this one." is no more a jab at all other apples as my comment was a jab at certain sysops. I didn't name any sysops, nor did I say "I wish certain sysops held this very same standard." I said all. It is general, not aimed. A jab is typically aimed, even if indirectly.
Had you truly intended to respect my wishes, you would not have continued to challenge my intentions. My being banned is a fact of the past. I'm not going to avoid the issue simply because certain individuals may not like that I disagree with how it transpired. The fact that my opinion of Rainith's quote is linked to said circumstances only came to light when I answered his inquiry about my reason for praising his quote. In fact, I attempted to avoid the issue as seen here: " I feel that, if I elaborate on its significance to me, it would cause more trouble for me than it is worth... again." and again here: "It wouldn't solve anything by getting into it now." After which, Rainith questioned my understanding of the context of the quote. I simply didn't want to go in circles by avoiding my reasons for praising his quote, so I explained in full (as I'm attempting to do now).
I dislike being misunderstood. Because of how I communicate via written/typed word, especially on this wiki, people tend to assume poor faith concerning my intentions. Ironically, that violates some policy somewhere on this wiki. No matter how many times I say "No, you're reading too much into it." or "That was not my intention.", people continually assume the worst... and badger me about it. Now, please discontinue this conversation (at least on the talk page for this IP address). 76.106.245.213 00:23, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
