Hello, Adeira Tasharo, and welcome to the Official Guild Wars Wiki! If you need help with anything, don't hesitate to add a message to my talk page. I highly recommend that you check out the "Welcome to the wiki" page - it's extremely useful as an initial guide. Best of luck and happy editing!--§ Eloc § 01:44, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Image cache issue[edit]

Hi, just an FYI when I noticed Image:Engineer Xapp.jpg. When you upload a new image, this wiki actually has a caching issue, so even though you've uploaded your image correctly, the image that the browser shows is still the old one. For some reason, it's takes a while to refresh the cache, so it might be up to an hour before your new image shows up for you (but it does show up correctly for users who've never loaded up that image before). Cheers. -- ab.er.rant sig 07:02, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

The image doesn't even show up for me. — Eloc 11:41, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Hmm... that's strange... It loads up fine on Engineer Xapp but doesn't when you go to the image page. -- ab.er.rant sig 13:18, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Delete then reupload under I2? — Eloc 13:34, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
My apologies for the duplicate upload then. I don't replace pictures very often, so I haven't run into the issue much. How long should I wait to check, about an hour or so? (The only other time I recall having an issue with a picture upload, was also replacing an image. As I recall, it showed one picture, distorted to the proportions of the other... is that a sign that the upload worked properly and that I just need to wait for the cache to catch up?) If you need me to reupload the image, just let me know, and under what name to do it. Adeira Tasharo 04:33, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
No worries. If you could, could you re-upload it to Image:Engineer Xapp.jpg? Thanks. The distortion (and the history log) is an indication that the upload was done correctly. You don't really need to check it :) Although I'm not sure why this one got corrupted... it was working when I noticed it. Weird. -- ab.er.rant sig 05:43, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Images[edit]

Thanks for uploading images! But sadly, GWW:IMAGE states that there should be no name or targeting ring in NPC images. The besat way to accomplish this is by pressing CTRL + H before taking a screenshot. Thanks, Calor Talk 18:58, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

I believe that's CTRL + Shift + H Calor, not CTRL + H. Nbajammer User Nbajammer sig.png 03:37, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the info! I'll do better in the future. Adeira Tasharo 14:16, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Salvage Research[edit]

I generally keep track of what I get from salvaging. Is there a general layout to use when reporting? Is there a way to list multiple results on a single line, so that repeat hits of the same salvage don't fill a large page volume? I've seen several times that people have reported the gold value of salvaged items, is this considered necessary? I've recorded item color (white, blue, purple, gold, blue with runes salvaged off, purple...) Armor value, damage, req... Another thing I have not recorded has been % HSR inherent on staves. Any suggestions? I can post some samples if that would be helpful.

Where should one report vandalism/etc?[edit]

I recently posted on the Admin Noticeboard because I wasn't sure where to properly post it. Please leave me a link to the GWW policy that I should have read that I have overlooked. Adeira Tasharo 05:26, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

You posted in the correct space. You can also tag pages for deletion using {{delete}} if the only content is spam/advert/etc. The admins don't respond instantaneously, but they are pretty quick. (Plus they've also created an impressive spam filter that blocks 1000s of edits altogether.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:30, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
I figured that someone would likely see it, but I wanted to make sure. Strange to me was that the link was in the Summary, is this uncommon? Adeira Tasharo 05:39, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
I haven't seen it too often, but it happens. ~FarloUser Farlo Triad.pngTalk 05:43, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
