[edit] Images

Images you have uploaded are in violation of the wiki's policies due to image naming, and is therefore up for deletion. Any image that is going to be used only for guild or user pages need to follow a specific naming pattern, to ease maintenance. Please see the image policy. Fall 06:42, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Good policy. I uploaded new versions that follow policy, and don't mind at all if you nuke the old ones. Sorry for assuming all was the same as in the previous. Auntmousie 06:05, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Alliance Contact

This is just a pre-generated space for alliance contact. I'll check it as often as I can. Auntmousie 09:27, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Changed your Guild Page

Fixed the Alliance NavBox issue we were having...trick was to embed the whole thing in one big table, one big row, with the schtuff on the left being in one column, and the guild box in the other. Hope you like...revert if not ;-) Scion Of Erixalimar 06:30, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Looks good! I might slide the navbox up to fill in the blank space better. Or maybe I'll just blather on more in the first area. Thanks regardless. Auntmousie 03:51, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Easiest thing to do (I just did it to mine) is to add valign=top to the first |- line. It keeps the wiki from auto-centering everything. Scion Of Erixalimar 06:46, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
thanks again. Auntmousie 07:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Awesome templates dude.

Wow, these templates rock. (If anyone wants to see it, my old page is here.) Re-naming and mucking with templates is NOT easy, but I stand on the shoulders of giants; thanks particularly to User:Scion Of Erixalimar, who did the bitchin' switchin' tab bar, but also to the people whose work he worked on - User:Xelnaga, User:Lensor, User:Fusa. Auntmousie 11:13, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Information resources

Have you tried Quick access links to connect with collector information? It's pretty complete. I like your character pages btw. --Go to Wynthyst's Talk page Wynthyst 00:55, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for that! I still prefer the way the guildwiki page is organized, but it's a minor thing to be sure. As for the pages... I can only take credit for the content, the formatting is as credited above. Auntmousie 01:32, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] character images

Hey, I was just perusing your characters.. and the images are great. You've got an eye for framing and backgrounds.. very nice just to poke around and enjoy. - THARKUN 06:30, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! Almost all of them are deliberate, and some are in-jokes ... for example, Mieko is posed at the gate to Maguuma Stade - a town that pretty much only a Cartographer ever finds. Auntmousie 07:16, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Permissions

In case it's ever an issue, I hereby grant permission to edit my pages and upload new images to the following users:

1. User:Myoung, my RL spouse.

2. User:Scion_Of_Erixalimar, who created the templates I'm using.

Auntmousie 00:30, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Speaking of it, may i suggest moving the permission list template into your userspace? Not that it is needed or anything, but if it stays on the Template namespace, other users may try changing it to allow adaptability.--Fighterdoken 00:41, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for that. Stupid oversight on my part. List moved. Auntmousie 01:12, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your signature

Hi there. It looks like your sig image is a little large. The Signature policy states that sig images should be no larger than 19 x 19 pixels, but yours is 117x21. Do you think you could shrink it down a bit. It looks like you could easily do that by just having the mouse as the image (and shrinking the mouse a bit), and using text for the "Aunt Mousie" bit. Biscuits Image:User Biscuits sig.png 05:10, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Something like this: Aunt Image:User Auntmousie Small Sig.gif mousie! (TALK | HISTORY)
-- Biscuits Image:User Biscuits sig.png 05:36, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Much as I appreciate the concern, the reason I made it the way I did is so that the entire name is the link. However, I did save your smaller version in order to obey a 19-pixel height which is within the non-text-disrupting intent of the policy. (TALK | HISTORY) 06:06, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I'm pretty sure that even just taking the mouse image into consideration, it's still larger than 19px by 19px. You really should use something like Biscuits suggested. If you want the whole name to be the link, just add a link to the words before and after the image. Kokuou 06:39, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
If I make "Aunt" and "mousie" both links, with the mouse image in the middle, the signature looks like this:
Aunt [User:Auntmousie|Mousie!]] (TALK | HISTORY) which is a line and a half in the text editor even with my very wide screen... which makes it dangerously close to a policy violation to do it that way. I've started a discussion on the policy thread, and if the concensus is that limiting the height alone is enough, then I'll change it... but for my two cents it isn't presently a problem. (TALK | HISTORY) 08:29, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Update: I made a minor change anyway, because (a) I like this better, (b) it's shorter both visually and in wikicode, and (c) it strongly refocuses the argument because my signature is now shorter than many/most out there. (AUNTMOUSIE) 09:45, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi there. We haven't had much input on the wider-signature-images issue from other users yet, but as it currently stands, your signature is in violation of the current policy. As was seen with the J.Kougar issue, breaking policies simply because it seems unfair or restrictive to you is not the way to get your point across. Until a consensus has been reached on the issue, I would advise you to change your signature image so that it complies with the 19px by 19px policy. Kokuou 23:13, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

To fix this, just change the code to . --Pling! \ Brains12 \ Talk 23:21, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
I know how to restrain an image size - but I recognize that your intentions are good in posting them, and I thank you for those intentions. Kokuou, although I don't think this such a big problem, I also assume that your intention is to keep me from being banned, and as such I thank you for your concern as well. And as you both can see, I've temporarily complied. Meanwhile, now that I've thanked you both for your kindness, I can take this moment to say that while I'm sure the people who wrote GWW:SIGN are good and well-intentioned people, the policy as written is a great big pile of Wurm Spoor. The reasoning behind the image restriction does not logically support such a tight restriction on width, and thus the policy as written is fundamentally flawed. If nobody ever stood up and defied dumb rules, we would still have segregation in the south and a British tax on our tea. This policy is stupid and I'm only following it under the implied threat of a ban. I'd like to point out for the record that I'm speaking specifically about the policy, not about the very intelligent and well-intentioned people who originally drafted it, and thus not violating GWW:NPA. (AUNTMOUSIE under protest) 03:08, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey, again. Yeah, I really didn't want to see anyone get banned over something that silly, so that's why I let you know. Personally, I'm for the width restriction because I can't stand how messy and juvenile some of the talk pages over on GuildWiki look, and so far that problem has been limited here thanks to that particular restriction. However, should you feel strongly enough and are able to convince other users, then by all means, rewrite the policy. (Off topic, I love the 'under protest' bit of your signature! :D) Kokuou 04:02, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
I like it too. Unfortunately it's also against policy and I've had enough of actually breaking policy for now. With some help from Scion I've tweaked the 'better' rat image to utilize more of the meager space I'm currently allowed, and in the meantime, the under protest now links to the talk page for my signature - which in turn is temporarily redirected to the discussion. Technical compliance FTW. (AUNTMOUSIE under protest) 08:09, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
