Official forum suggestions[edit]

I had an idea to incorporate the feedback suggestions into the official Guild Wars forum. As you and a a small group of others love to suggest things, and the feedback space pretty much dead, it would be a better place to get our ideas visible and a better fit than the wiki. I posted a a topic here, https://forum.guildwars.com/forum/forums/web/Would-it-be-possible-to-incorporate-Wiki-s-suggestions-into-the-forum and if I could get your support, thanks! I think the idea will go nowhere but if enough agree maybe their stance will change or they can humor us! What do we have to lose!? Previously Unsigned 00:59, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Regardless of how wrong you are...[edit]

I said I'd back off for a while. You should, too. Now let's see if you can read. 76.106.241.157 23:17, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Simple and elegant.[edit]

Thanks. I got bogged down at first, but your idea was just too good to pass. --Boro 10px‎ 14:08, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

FYI[edit]

"OK stop right there America has by no means such power and influence and any american who think his/her country does have so if foolishly mistaken since America is no longer concidered a superpower and has very limited influence and power" source

"“They obviously weren’t aware how closely the FBI has been building its international relationships over the past few years.”" source

Remember what happened to bin Laden? Generally speaking, when the US wants to do something, it does it. This post isn't an attack. I hope you find it informative. Sardaukar User Sardaukar sig.png 19:14, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

The USA are the terrorists now. --Boro 10px‎ 20:46, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
But they achieved it after a failure of a war, but then again war is something america has failed in quite bad. Also Bin Laden was a terrorist hated by the entire world and wanted dead, the topic you queoted me from isn't about a terrorist of any sort ...no like Boro said about the terrorism on america on the free internet and about a buisness that completely fails to adept to the changing digital world. The FBI did something stupid and can not be called an achievement of any sort. For each such site they remove more than 10 replace it increasing the problem. That action is typical american and like always fails at it's purpose. Bin Laden may be dead but the terrorism continues, Mega Upload may be gone (for a while) but the downloading still occurs, the problems are still there and did not decrease even a bit. If america wants to attack and have it done they should do it properly and not mess up or making things worse than they already are. Da Mystic Reaper 22:58, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
I didn't highlight the quotes to show the effectiveness of US endeavors. I quoted you as saying that the US doesn't have the power to exercise its will on foreign soil. The article about Megaupload and the killing of bin Laden show that the US does have the power to carry out its will with (as in the case of Kim Dotcom) or without (as in the case of bin Laden) the cooperation of other countries. Again, the effectiveness of the action is not the issue I'm bringing to your attention. You asserted that the US does not have the power to carry out its actions throughout the world. You are wrong on that point. Sardaukar User Sardaukar sig.png 04:20, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Happy to see that you are at it too, so I thought about sharing plans. If you check that navigation template, you will find outdated lists of all henchmen builds. If you can fix those pages too, would be of great help. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji talk 15:29, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

I'll see what i can do with that list. My first objective is to properly adjust the builds sjows on the henchmen pages, after that based on those updated lists i'll update the quickref. Maybe after that i'll see how certain henches use their builds after some updates. My main interrest is to see how Gehraz uses the feeder->teardown mechanic properly. Well if it really matters is also a bit questionable with the 7 heroes update but i do know that there are still people that make use of them. Da Mystic Reaper 17:31, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for all your research it has been of great use. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji (talk) 10:43, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

Following up this matter, I think Alesia needs to be re-checked. I was updating my personal project (User:Yoshida_Keiji/Tsubagakure_Oboro/Tyrian_Vanquisher#Henchmen) and I just realised that between the 4 henchmen of level 3-6, all the other 3 have 5 skills in their early stages...but Alesia only 3? User Yoshida Keiji Signature.pngYoshida KeijiCanthan script - man.jpg(TALK) 17:02, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

I checked her on multiple characters at that time and she only used Orison of Healing and Healing Breeze. I myself expected she would have Heal Other but i never saw her use it untill she reached level 8, same with Dwayna's Kiss. I can recheck it if i have overlooked it but the 3 skills limit at that level is not exclusive to Alesia, untill she reaches level 9 Khim also has 3 skills and besides the rez they are the same as the ones Alesia has. Taya however starts with 5 skills while Kisai starts with 6 and Mai only with 4, a different amount of skills at that level is not uncommon, and Alesia ends up with only 7 skills in the end anyways so it would not be suprising she starts with less either. Da Mystic Reaper 17:31, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
Seems common sense to only give monk henchmen as few skills as possible so they don't burn their tiny energy pools up. Chieftain Alex 18:00, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
And after testing it again the result is still the same, Orison of Healing, Healing Breeze and Restore Life. Da Mystic Reaper 19:19, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Lol[edit]

Thanks for catching Stefan's skills. Totally wierd that the ultimate bar I copied bore no resemblance to the builds I'd noted in my sandbox. zzz.. File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 20:51, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

"and add the source"[edit]

I did so in the edit summary. We can visit Granite Citadel in GW2 and see their graves there. TBH, the "when she passes away" bit is unnecessary, as obviously they'll die before being buried. Konig/talk 20:29, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Henchmen evaluation[edit]

Instead of just stating "Outdated build" in the Evaluation sections of henchmen pages, give an explanation why. --Silver Edge 19:54, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

I tagged them outdated because their builds have not been properly updated since the elementalist skill update, unlike Gehraz who did had his build updated after the dervish skill update. Outside the reason they are simply outdated, with a few exceptions that still work even after the update. You can update the new pros and cons but please do leave the outdated part since they still need to have their builds adjusted to the latest elementalist skill update. Da Mystic Reaper 00:02, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
How about adding a note to their "Notes" section instead? E.g.: "Unlike Dervish henchmen having their skill bars rebalanced with the Dervish skill balance update, <Elementalist name> did not have <his/her> skill bar rebalanced with the September 2012 Elementalist skill balance update." --Silver Edge 05:26, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
"Outdated" isn't very helpful to the casual reader. I thought you meant that the build had been altered, but that the community hadn't gotten around to updating the article. It would be fair to include something in the evaluation, along the lines of mentioning that skills have changed substantially and that the current build fails to take advantage of synergies. I believe we did this for one of the assassin boss articles, after he was unable to complete a skill chain because a key skill was changed, removing their lead attack. If something like that has happened to hench, it would be helpful to know how that change has reduced the effectiveness of the build. 75.37.20.148 08:31, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
The pages in question (Cynn, Kisai, Headmaster Vhang, and Herta) currently mention that in their Evaluation section. --Silver Edge 08:50, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
Remove outdated information and tag with:
{{section-stub|Evaluation update needed after the September 2012 Elementalist skill balance update}}
User Yoshida Keiji Signature.pngYoshida Keiji(talk) 10:13, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
As shown in the links I provided above, those Evaluation sections have been edited to reflect the changes that update had on those skills. --Silver Edge 10:30, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

ummm question.[edit]

Those userfeedback suggestions are for this right? If so that's PvP i might actually try. Totally a good idea.(note to self read the wiki more = less foot in mouth... i blame insomnia and those couple months of using Discordway. Ohhh maybe Discord could summon Ian McKay xD) i'm with stoopid→Durp da durp 22:27, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

It's a sandbox i made for a future suggestion for PvP, altough it still isn't complete. When iv'e fully worked them out it's going to be combined with the data in sandbox 1 and made into a suggestion. I actually planned it for GW2 PvP, allowing GW2 players to enjoy the old PvP of GW1, including the new professions. Currently the content you can enjoy yourself with in GW2 is rather limited and i planned it as a suggestion to increase the optionals you can enjoy yourself with. I doubt it could make into GW1 so i'm keeping it to GW2 (for now). Well for sandbox 1 to be useful for that suggestion all of the "remaining" skills need to be updated first. Da Mystic Reaper 18:47, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

Your input requested (again)[edit]

So I'm beginning my work on elementalists, and I wanted to somehow incorporate a focus on energy and energy usage (similar to the use of incantations and Divine Favor and ways and Critical Strikes). Currently I have developed the "arcana" skill type, which modifies spells cast based on their energy cost (examples can be seen here). Any input you have to offer would be much appreciated.
