Heya Gaile!

Wow so I finally learned how to wiki.. well kinda hehe. Anyways I just wanted to say hi and since you aren't GM in game anymore im assuming you are rarely on Gaile Grey, is there another account you play on, I'd like to play with you sometime since we never "officially met" and I dont know if you recieved my email or not but I still have something to give you ever since the farewell party so feel free to pm me in game sometime.. and I hope all is well in the country :D

Oh also the GW2 suggestion link appears to be down is there a different or better method of sending in ideas? --O Frost O File:O Frost O Sig.GIF 18:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

The GW2 Suggestions Pages are not down -- or at least I hope not! What they are is embarrassingly late for an edit because the crew of hamsters I hired to do it staged a "Sunflower Seeds or Nothing" sit down strike, and it's been slow going doing it myself lately! :) Reorganizing that page, and in fact learning where it should be housed from Mike O'Brien, is a matter that I will try to get all sorted out this week.
Not sure about the email that you sent me, and I'm sorry. Did it go to through the wiki? Or to the SupportLiaison@arena.net address? I play on my Gaile Gray character for some things, like holiday events and so forth. For instance, she was the char I was on most during the recent 3rd Anniversary Party. My other accounts are used for other things, like storage or helping administer a tournament -- you know, like flagging a match to get it on Obs Mode. I also have accounts for working with the Support in other territories. So the account with Gaile really is the most likely for us to meet up in the game, and I hope we'll do so sometime soon. I'm off to go see if I can find the mail you sent. Take care! -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 23:28, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
So that was you playing in the Dragon Nest. For a while I didn't recognise you without the purple text but I suppose only one person has the frog mini. ;) You were very good at it. --Lytel 23:31, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh, gee, thanks! *beams* But in truth, compared to some Dragon Nest players, I'm a total slacker. ;) I've tried to figure out how some of them do what they do, but it's beyond me!
You are right, that small amphibian is a dead giveaway it's me. (Did you check out the hop on that guy?!) Anyway, it was super nice to see folks at the party. A few asked about our travels through the countryside; it's sweet to see the continuation of the Farewell Party lore. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 23:39, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
lol yeah the last email I sent was through guru actually right after the farwell.. its all good though as im sure you are very busy still and ill keep an eyeball out for your main account then :)
oh also does dragon nest really only have to be for canthan chars? I always hear about it but never had a chance to play since my account with factions is always on the circles hehe but I have to admit I jus tried rollerbeetle racing and it was very fun--O Frost O File:O Frost O Sig.GIF 22:33, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
I play my Ranger in Dragon Nest all the time. As long as the character can get to SJM, she/he is in! Well, don't forget to buy a ticket, too. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 00:03, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Gold bows =)

Hi Gaile. I might have 2-4 gold bows which may be of interest to you. I do have a gold Dragon Hornbow which is not in your list, and I do have some others that also might interest you. I'm usualy logged on afternoons (gmt+1). Looking forward to hear from you =D -- Titus The Third User titus the third.png 03:01, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey Gaile

I hope you're doing well on your new job within Arenanet. I regret not seeing you so much in game, but I'm sure we'll meet again, hopefully even in real live ;-). I tried sending you an email twice before through wiki, but I don't know if it arrived or not: As I promised you in Paris, I'm going to invite you to our 3rd international guild vacation, which will be in Belgium this year. Currently 18 people are staying the full week, people from Denmark, England, Holland and even one guy from America. I read on one of the fansites (gwonline I think) that you were considering traveling to Holland and Europe this summer, would be so lovely to have you as a guest on our holiday (if possible, but I do have hope ^^). Any other people from Arenanet who might be in the neighborhood are more than welcome as well. The link to the website with more info is in both mails (7th of Mai and 17th of April).

P.S. Did the chocolates arrive? ^^ grtz!--User Tribina base.png (Tribina / talk) 15:48, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Hiya, Trib. Let me poke around and see if I can find those emails! Thanks for letting me know; I'll drop you a line. -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 21:34, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

A question about the old Community team...

Hello Gaile, I have a question about the old community team: we know that both you and Patrick have changed to new jobs within Arena Net...But what about Natasha? I remember hearing a lot of praise about her during one of those "players meet the Arena Net staff" events in Seattle (when she was responsible for meeting some of the recently arrived players), but we never really learned what happened to her, if she's still in the team or not...I'm not sure if you may answer this kind of question, but if you can, I would be glad. Thank you! Erasculio 17:21, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, there. Yes, Natasha is great -- one of my favourite people in the world. I'm happy to say she is still with the company, working with Lisa LaFay, our awesome office manager, on a part-time basis, one that fits into her other job and school schedules. Thanks for asking; I will pass along your kind words. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 21:23, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Havent forgotten!

Gaile, my finals are done, so I can finally get a chance to get you that bow I've been trying to get you. Provided nothing else comes up, I'll be wasting my life away on GW, so I'll hopefully see you on. --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 17:41, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Neither have I, so if you've time today I would love it that you come and hop on(see my post some up for more details why :D (Hint: B-day) EDIT:guess you didn't read this on time, just pm me a new time but remember that I live in europe..Dutch Sunshine 19:02, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
That's very sweet of you both -- I will look for you very soon. (Sorry, Dutch, I was super swamped yesterday and frankly, I lost track of the time until it was waaay past bedtime in Europe. I do apologize, and hope you had a marvelous birthday!) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 21:24, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Heya Gaile, ofcourse my B-day was great :) I'm 16(Finally!)now, and np that you forgot to come on, it can happen to anybody, we are human afterall :p Dutch Sunshine 21:54, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Sorry gaile for just logging off without saying goodbye, there went something wrong at my place just at the moment I was going to say good-bye to you, I hope you don't bother :) ttyl Dutch Sunshine 06:46, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
No problem at all, Dutch. It was good to see you again, and thank you so much. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 19:56, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Wandering Traveler, thank you also for your kindness. It is good to speak with a fellow classical music lover! Don't worry about being outside the usual on music tastes. I like all kinds of music, and think they all have their fans and their fun factor, too. But 100, 500, 1000 years from now, I do believe it will be be the few whom people will still be calling "gods," and they are called Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Bach... :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 19:56, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Pahah, its good to see other people that actually enjoy that kind of music. I love todays kind of classical music, but its hard to play if you're a trombone player. you barely get any notes! >.<. But its still quite a good style :). Glad to see you enjoy it! --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 21:03, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Just saying hello

Hey Gaile, haven't talked to you in a while. I dropped by just to say hello. So how r u going in your new role? Hope its not as stressful as the Community Manager role, and hope I'm not annoying you with this useless post :P --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 21:38, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, MM. I'm doing just fine, thanks. Helping players, helping the Support Team -- it's all good. :) Thanks for stopping by! -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 21:47, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Good to Hear, Hope froggie is not bothering you, otherwise I have a French friend who would like to chew on his legs :P --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 22:01, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Chew the Frog's legs?! How rude! ;) -- User Elveh sig.png Elv 07:41, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
I think Gaile would wind up putting an arrow through the tookahs of the man trying to eat the frog....whoo, that'd be painful. --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 13:27, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
What if he had Deflect Arrows active? :P --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 19:02, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Gaile's arrows never miss. :P --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 03:03, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Remember also that Froggie is blessed with that unique skill, granted by Dwayna to The Frog only: The Divine Aura of Amphibian Protection.
I also think he's so old -- "as aged as the cobblestones in Lion's Arch," he once said -- that his little legs would be tough and stringy, not at all worth the time and trouble to try to snack upon...if anyone could even catch him. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 03:11, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Besides, even the french would be in awe by his cuteness. Wonder if he could clear the shiverpeaks in one fell hop.... :P --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 03:56, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Now I'm curious Gaile, what are the effects of The Divine Aura of Amphibian Protection --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 15:51, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
The way I understand it, the specs are something like this: Elite Enchantment Spell. For untold seconds, The Frog maintains an zone of approximately "touch" range around his being. This zone is impenetrable by any acts of hostility, including projectile attacks and would-be frog smooshing. (Miniatures and those engaging in the dance are welcome within the circle.) When The Frog is the target of an enemy spell or onslaught while under the influence of this enchantment, he sustains 0 damage, gains +20 to loquaciousness, and the would-be attacker suffers a -10 to reputation. This spell causes exhaustion.
Hmmm... that "exhaustion" bit might explain why Froggie slips off into Napland so often, eh? ;) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 18:03, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
oo I should start poking Izzy to nerf it, and you made me use the dictionary for loquaciousness :P. Another question, what would happen if I go near froggie using the Disco Dance of Doom? :P --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 19:45, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
BTW Gaile, take a look at this ^^ --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 09:24, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

That's adorable. I added a few more links, to make it look even more "official." Then I realized it was off your user page, so I hope it's ok with you that I made a couple of changes! :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 03:08, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
lol np Gaile, and thnx :P --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 07:35, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Present from your favorite bear

Hey Gaile,

Since this is the place for chit-chat and all, I'd though I'd leave some. Your own personal WIKI-page huh? Nice. Then again, you are as much part of the face of Arean.net and Guild wars in particular as anyone else, and it is no small wonder Gaile-worshipping cults have arisen across the world. Why, yesterday I was walking through the city of Nijmegen, where I have my dwellings, and there I saw some fanatical Gail-lings, as they are called, perform a somewhat strange ritual in front of a freshly minted Statue of Gaile. Gail-lings are called "Gail-en" in dutch, "Gail" being a bastardized version of your name, and "-en" being the multiplication, and not Gail-lings, and the cult is called "Kerk van Gaile, Wonder van Guild Wars" which translates to "Church of Gaile, Miracle of Guild Wars", which is nice and all, but they were performing a ceremony the likes of which I have never seen before. Before that statue of Gaile, which they called the "Beeld van Haar","Statue of Her", stood a man dressed up as a Charr Shaman. He was surrounded by a group of people all dressed up as Guild Wars player characters, and they almost hung to his lips. He was chanting some strange sentences which do not bear translation very well, and every sentence was repeated as a chorus by the others. It went something like this:

" All hail Gaile, mistress of Guild Wars , We who worship you ask for your blessing , We who have bows ask for arrows straight and true , We who have arrows ask for bows mighty and strong , Oh Gaile, Lady of the Bow and Bringer of Knowledge , We beg of you to grant us Your Sight , We beg of you to grant us Your Strength , We beg of you to grant us Your..." Well, I cannot translate that last part, it is a dutch word which resembles homelyness and cozyness, and a general feeling of well-being, of outgoing spirit and festivities, of merryness and happyness with friends and family, of candles and good food and being together. The word is "gezelligheid". I think they have the same kind of word in Danish. At any rate, it is a Very Good Thing when dutch people think you are "gezellig".

After this strange chanting, the man dressed as Charr Shaman picked up a mask made out of crudely forged sheat-metal resembling a feminine face, strapped it to his head, and placed an apple on top of his head. The others then walked to a locked strongbox at the bottom of the "Beeld van Haar", opened it, and in unison cried "Aanschouw dat wat gegeven is door Gaile. Aanschouw de vondst! Aanschouw het geplunderde!" which translates as "Behold that which is given by Gaile! Behold the finding! Behold the loot!". They removed what appeared to be a perfect replica of a Recurve Bow from the box, together with at leat two dozen arrows. Then, they all took pot-shots at the apple on the head of the Charr Shaman. It was a good thing he wore a face mask, as most of them were really bad shots. One of the arrows even landed in a tree some three meters to the right of the Shaman! Not good I tell you. As this was getting rather hazardous, the police, who was standing nearby, intervened, and the Charr Shaman was, uhm, well, arrested, of a sorts. He bellowed something which I shall not translate seeing that are ladies present, and went for his crudely made replica of a staff. Alas, for the thing was made out of cardboard, and the policemen, carrying rubber clubs with a wooden core, were not impressed and bashed him to the ground. The others all ran for it, including the statue, which, I noticed now, was no statue at all but rather a "living statue" cunningly dressed up to the likelyness of you. Likelyness, I say, as of course nothing can be as lovely as the real Gaile, but one cannot blame a group of frenzied worshippers for trying right?

Looks like I'm back to work now Gaile. Take care. If you feel like chatting a bit, drop me a line at yggedrassil@yahoo.com. Might take some time for me to reply as its not my main adress, but I can't drop my real email here on a wiki page... don't like spam ;)

Kindest regards,

Baranor//Stefan

Stefan, how nice (and surprising) to hear from you! Yes, I admit it, I lol'd several times. I see you have lost none of your wackiness over the years. Of course, those who don't know you might wonder (raise eyebrows, scratch head, call the crew with the nets and uncomfortable jackets?) at the nature of your post!
Don't worry, folks, Barry is a kindly polar bear whose effigy lives in my curio cabinet in the guise of a one-inch china figurine. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 02:45, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
I lol'd, that was a nice story stefan, also your translations were quite funny :) so as you can see gaile, many dutchies know you :) Dutch Sunshine 10:37, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
I feel, given my affection for all things Dutch and Netherland-ish, this is a very good thing, indeed! *beams* -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 02:17, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
I must admit I did raise my eyebrows, but I also lol'd =) And he got a point, you've become more or less a godess; the godess who bring (brought) news from the even higher gods..
And Gaile, haven't heard from you, do you want the bow(s)? =P -- Titus The Third User titus the third.png 08:42, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi, Titus. Thanks, but comments of divinity are only the stuff of chuckles, snickers, or guffaws. :)
Yes, I would be delighted to have the bows! I have you on one of my Friend's Lists -- I will watch for you to be online and send you a message, ok? Thanks so much! -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 17:42, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
You're like Kormir a newly made God :p, I will look the things up I told you gaile, and I'll send the mail, asap Dutch Sunshine 19:36, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
o.O How dare you compare Gaile to Kormir??? =P I don't know if you know it, but Kormir is more or less the most hated and flamed godess within the gw community, no one seems to like her. I guess mostly because she just follows your group doing nothing for the entire NF campaign, then at the end pretty much takes all the credit for all the work you've done and leaves you in the dust while she gets all shiny and stuff. :P And Gaile: alrighty then, I guess we're in different time zones, but I'll keep em safe for you =) -- Titus The Third User titus the third.png 23:51, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Sigh...it still nice seeing you (Gaile) online

Somehow it got very quiet from Anet..Hows your little George? --Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 16:42, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Ah, George. Thanks you for asking! He's doing pretty well, even though it's clear to see his is getting up there in years. "He's aging gracefully," he asks me to write, "and with a distinguished silver gleam to his fur in just the right places." ;) He's been to the veterinarian more times than he would like this last six months... but then, he'd be the first to say that any visits to the vet are "more times than he would like." He has developed a feline thyroid condition that requires twice-daily meds. He's pretty good about taking the medication -- he's quite the little trooper, in fact -- but I've noticed lately a certain glint in his eye when I pop in the pill, and occasionally I catch him looking around shiftily to see if anyone is watching, weighing whether he can discretely slide the pill back out. I caught him when I heard a tell-tale "ping" as he dropped the pill down the heating vent on which he sits. Little rascal! :) Oh and then there's this growth (benign, thank goodness) on his cheek: It seems to change size and to tell the truth, he looks pretty funny some days, like he's a squirrel keeping acorns in his cheek.
I suppose, looking at that description, it sounds as if he's in bad shape, but I feel sure his quality of life is such that he's still got some good years left. His favourite time is late at night when I (finally!) leave the computer and go upstairs, calling "Ok, George, reading time" on my way up. He joins me, leaning against my side, and while I enjoy one of my stacks of 10 or 20 books at the side of my bed, he does some power napping.
He just came downstairs and meowed imperiously at me. I picked him up and he sits in my lap still, purring. I guess you could say "This post is George-approved." *lol* -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 20:25, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Aw shucks, it sure sounds like George is having it good. :) – User Barinthus Magical Compass.png Barinthus 21:59, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Now that responce made my day. A cuddle for George and 5 pawns from my "feline rulers".-- Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 09:56, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
Ehhmm...ok...5 sets of wiskers and wet-noses rubbing my screen. Cannot get more approving than that. :) -- Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 10:00, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
I just got back from a 2-day business trip to Austin, and George refused to look at me when I walked in. He's not at all happy when I'm gone, and he lets me know his thoughts about my travels by sitting in the suitcase before I leave (sort of a body-block for packing) and then snubbing me when I get back.
Later today, someone dropped by to borrow my camping gear, and George had a most panicked look on his face, like "What, you're leaving again? How could you!?" -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 01:07, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Aww, poor George really misses you.....though I can sympathize. We have a border collie that will do the exact same thing. At one point, when we were going to leave to visit my grandparents, he snuck out the door, jumped into the car, and hid in the backseat. Didnt notice he was there until we left the house and heard a "THUMP!" as we stopped short at a red light.....boy, he was mad when we put him back in the house. He snubbed us beyond recognition in the end, but he came around in the end. (still doesnt like us to leave without him though) :) ~User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 01:20, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
That's one smart dog you have there. Gaile, a random thought - if you're online and talking will you still have your famous lavendar text? – User Barinthus Magical Compass.png Barinthus 01:36, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
WT -- I agree, that's a pretty clever pooch! (George, having read the above, has turned his nose snootily away, wondering how a conversation about that superior creature, the cat, turned into a discussion of that lesser being, the dawg. Actually, no, I'm just joking about that. George was born into a house with a dog, and he's pretty ok when people bring their dogs over here, so he doesn't appear to have the average kitty disdain for the canine. Either that, or he continues to loll around when the dog approaches because it takes too much energy to poof out the fur and hiss. :D
Bari, the dev team kindly retired the lavender text when I moved to my new position. I understand that The Frog, were he to speak publicly, would find his golden text is also retired. Since we are traveling the countryside and not speaking publicly, we talk together -- as most do -- in party chat. Now, whether our party chat to one another is lavender and gold, that's a secret and he and I will keep.  :)
I do have access to the current colour, which is sort of aqua. However, I would only use it for GM purposes and not for chatting, and I've had no occasion to do so at this point. -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 19:10, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Check your mail

Heya gaile,

I just sended you a mail about some things + a little present. So how are things going? Hows your new job?

Greetings, Dutch Sunshine 18:16, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Ok, Dutch, I will watch the mail. *puzzled* I'm doing very well, thanks so much. It's finally become spring in Seattle, and I do love the long days and the balmy weather. I hope you're doing well, too! -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 07:07, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Good to hear that you're doing fine :) and yeh I'm doing fine too :) btw my first attempt on a survivor didn't work out so I started a new one with a new name, new chapter and well, new everything :P ? oh and I saw somewhere you were coming to The Netherlands this summer? is this true? that's all for now, cya Dutch Sunshine 10:51, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi, Dutch. Sadly, it does not appear that I will be coming to The Netherlands this summer after all. It was a dearly-held hope of mine, but it does not appear that it will be possible. Thank you for asking, and I hope that I'll be in your wonderful country soon! -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 01:04, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Where Is This Armor?

I have seen a beautiful armor but i cant find it anyone know where I can get it? Is it somewhere in Gwen because it looks like destroyer skin. http://www.guildwars.com/products/guildwars/gallery/screenshots/gw044-lrg.php 145.53.242.142 15:29, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

That armor was removed from game before the release of prophecies, Elementalist Aziure is wearing it though. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 15:38, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I knew instantly what screenshot you had noticed; it's one of my favourites of all we made "back in the day." I love that armour too. That and the "fairy princess" armour, which also never made it into the game. Elementalists do have nice togs! :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 07:14, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Have you got a screenshot of the fairy armor:D I Would love it. 145.53.242.142 11:44, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm curious Gaile, why was that armor removed? and is it possible to add it to the game again if the probs (if there were probs) with it are fixed? --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 11:50, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Development is an iterative process, and much more doesn't make it into the game than does. I believe that the armour in question did not get included at release because the team developed others that they preferred to add to the overall Elementalist armour sets. The Art Team - principally the Art Director -- chooses the overall look for the visuals within the game. Any number of things could influence accepting a design: How it looks in motion, how it dyes, how it interacts with weapons and in-hand items, how it compliments the other choices in the profession's set, how it melds with the perceived character traits of the profession, etc. So I'm sorry that I do not know the answer to your question, but perhaps an artist would be able to comment on the question on his or her GWW page.) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 00:41, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Sry for being a bother again, but can u link me to an artist page on GWW. Thnx ^^ --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 12:03, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
BTW, I think this is the fairy armor Gaile mentioned. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 12:09, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes, yes it is. However, it's even prettier in lavender. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 17:55, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Howdyhow, do you want my bow?

Yea, that's right, I still have all these gold bows laying around. Req9 15^50 Tyrian old school ones, or req9 inscribable. As I never see you online I'm kinda wondering if your status is hidden (because everyone have you on their friends list waiting for a moment to jump you with messages of all kinds) :P, or if it's just the fact that we live in completely different time zones. Well, I guess I'm sleeping mostly when you're out in the forest singing and picking flowers with Gwen. SO! To solve this little time issue, why don't you tell me when you're online (either a spesific time and date, or a general hour of the day I should go in to check on you), and I'll be sure to locate you, even though I must admit that you're pretty good at playing hide and seek. =) -- Titus The Third User titus the third.png 11:18, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Titus, I look for you often when I'm online. I do not want you to think I've got you on ignore, as nice as you've been! :) I will be on a LOT during the Dragon Festival and hope to see you then. Thanks so much. -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 07:22, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Bows

Hey Gaile, a quick question. Have you updated your bow collection list on your userpage lately? I remember giving you that Deldrimoir Longbow, yet it is not on the list >.>. I only ask because I got several bows during a farming excursion and need to make sure you don't need any ^.^. Thanks in advance. ~User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 00:46, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi, WT. Hmm, you're right, that was an incomplete list. (Updated now.) I know what happened: I created a girl especially to hold my Greens, and her inventory is full, so I had them on my normal Gaile character and forgot to add them to the list. Also have a new Amber Bow which I added to the Golds. Thanks for pointing that out. And for the bow! :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 17:58, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Maybe the meanest question i could ask you...

I am sorry in advance Gaile. Here be it though...Since you where/still are a well loved representative of Arenanet and moved on to CSupport it has been different out here for us folks. Some players didn’t care in the first place, many do though. The details will all be mentioned every where (here on GWW and probably on other forums too). We were spoiled rotten by your attention, answers and heart for the Player Community and the question rises “Policy change concerning the Role CC or just a different personality?”. --Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 09:09, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

First sign your comments. Second, personality does make somewhat of a difference of course, and this will always be a factor in any job. However, I feel like Regina is in an awkward spot here, and has alot of unnecessary criticism against her. Not only is she following in the steps of an extraordinary CM, but also has stepped in at the ideal time of Guild Wars 2 in development. She does take a less personal more straight out facts approach then Gaile, but unfortunately, as Guild Wars 2 is in development and nothing is set in stone, she doesn't have many facts that she can tell, explaining the "We're sorry but no answer is available at this time please try again." answers we've been getting at every turn. On the Ursan matter of everyone being split, thats not Regina's fault, thats the superb balancing team's fault, though complaining to Regina must get through to them at some point. I know Regina is becoming the scapegoat of all the problems in the guild wars world, but shes just the representative of them, and what she says isn't always her personal opinion.-Warior Kronos User Warior Kronos Sig.jpg 15:59, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
You're just dealing with a different individual. Everyone works differently. You're just not used to Regina's style. By your "well loved" statement, you might not realise that there were many who couldn't get used to Gaile's style previously. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 16:32, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Ab and Kronos said it all. I'll admit that at the first I was not used to Regina's style but like two comments above said, we're dealing with a different personality. We're really better off for Regina to do her job in her own way instead of trying to copy her predecessor - that is the path to fail. I have this feeling that Regina is still finding her own style and at same time I feel bad at how much flak she've gotten lately. – User Barinthus Magical Compass.png Barinthus 17:06, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
It is not about being a "copy" it is about being absent and no answers. --Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 19:06, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
It'n neither up to Gaile nor Regina to decide what information is revealed, but like in a lot of places, people tend to shoot the messenger... --User Tribina base.png (Tribina / talk) 19:17, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
It is not about being a "copy" it is about being absent and no answers. --Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 19:06, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
"I'm sorry, I can't tell you any more at this time." is one hell of a lot more comforting than blank silence, which Regina employs a little too much. --71.229.253.172 09:15, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Lmao silver leaf u in love with gaile or somethin? There is no diffrence at all. Richi2k7 --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:90.209.63.225 (talk).

On-topic...Not in love with Gaile (am a female gamer and do not feel for females that way) but i did like her approach and her in-game presence. Even a no is an answer and Gaile admitted if she didn't know something and tried to answer them. A different approach then Regina is understood. --Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 12:39, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
I just wonder how everyone else will feel if they were put on Regina's shoes? I mean she's constantly hounded by the same question over and over again and with alot of attitude I might add. How I wonder would anyone else react? To say "There are no news at the moment still" on every inquiry? Create a banner or a headline that states "No new GW2 news at the moment?" Give the poor lady a break. I myself would probably rarely reply when 95% of the question sent to me is all about 1-2 (GW2 & Ursan) questions, and the fact that I've the questions a gajillion times but this is how I would react. I wonder what's yours? Renin 15:55, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
I would be in-game to tell people about the upcomming HoM changes. About attending to PAX. About the PvP-PvE skill split. Most of all i would be approachable and representing the company as CC the best way i could. Not be afk for players while many could use a boost to stay patient for more news about gw2 or simple a moral boost. "I'm not hiding for your questions, we are still here and still care". If the job is tough at the moment, well hell..that's what getting paid to do a job is for. Even under more difficult circumstances. --Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 18:22, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
So what about your other responsibilities? The fact that the CC has to have tons of discussion with the Dev team. The constant meetings, the other fansites to read, the 5-page rants of everyone that sends you a private email/messages? You really think you'll have an adequate amount of time to really do all that, while having a real life outside work? Maybe what you're asking for is a bot, that is programed to respond at every single whim and every single letter that was sent to the CC. What you want is inhumanely impossible as Gaile herself have had spats of silences as well. Like you said, it's a job and some people are only willing to spend an amount of time of their day and lives for work and IF you'll be saying that you'll do overtime for this then Regina may not be the same as well. Different folks, different strokes. Don't bash her because she's different. Renin 18:39, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Because of this.--Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 18:48, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
So you're disallowing CCs to actually have fun even while they're at work? I do remember when Gaile did her tango line or whatever that was, ain't no one was complaining about that when there were pressing issues during those times as well. The questions that keeps popping up have already been answered, they've already made a FAQ about it. What more do you want from her? Twist her arm just so she'd play nice with you and everyone else who are dissatisfied with the game? She's doing her job the best way she can, and let's be honest. A person can only take so much negativity in a span of a day. I'm sure if 95% of the messages sent to you were negative you'd probably be doing the same thing. Renin 19:02, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi, guys. I hope you understand, but this whole discussion, and its placement here, makes me pretty uncomfortable. With all due respect, I'm going to move it into archives. I know I've gotten some questions for moving things away quickly in the past, and I want to do "the right wiki thing," but I think it's fair to make a move now and hope you understand. -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 19:33, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Concern about throwing a Presearing Party

Good Evening Gaile,

I posted this question to regina, however everyone has told me to post this question to you, for you may have an answer.

My name is James, IGN Peri Woodbane, a proud member of TYTN. In the past TYTN has thrown some pretty big parties for the presearing public, giving away an average of 1 mill in gold and items free of charge during parties we host to give back to the community. The guilds one year anniversary is arriving, and we are planning to top everything we have ever done for the community. However, there is a concern people have mentioned about the new protections built in the software. Some are afraid that if they accept our prizes, or even our members are worried that because they are giving away large amounts of items and gold, that there would be reprecussions. Is there anything we can do, to be assured that our members who have worked so hard to earn the items being given away, and to assure the presearing public, that it is safe for their accounts to join in the festivities, and enjoy the free items we will be giving away? If you would like more details about the birthday party, feel free to email me at peri@legendarytitansgw.com.

Thank you in advance for your response on this,
James
Peri Woodbane
TYTN Webmaster

We have had a lot of parties in Guild Wars, and the software hasn't been changed in quite some time. Sure, we do tweak the parameters we use to try to eliminate RMTers. However, I don't remember anyone getting blocked for accepting a prize in a contest, nor for other related activities. Our focus isn't on something as simplistic and one-dimensional as "large trades" or "those items," or "XYZ amounts of gold." Our focus is on gold sales and gold purchases and we vet each report that we have on file -- whether that comes in through the page or through the /report system -- to try to assure that there are no false positives or accidental blocks.
There are no guarantees about such things; the team is human, after all, and humans can and do make errors. However, it would be extremely rare for someone to get blocked when he is picking up a prize or getting involved in party activities. And I know that if someone does experience a block, we would make it a priority to unblock and reset the character logs so that the slate was cleared of such an accidental block. All someone needs to do if he/she is blocked in error is let us know and we'll take another look at the records in order to clear up the error as quickly as possible.
I hope that helps relieve any concerns you may have had. And I'm sure the party will be most enjoyable! :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 01:01, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your prompt response to this Ms. Gray. I will post it to the guild, and we can begin letting people know of the party. You have eased alot of peoples minds:-)
*PERI*
That's great, Peri. I hope it's a very successful event and, if it's open to all, The Frog and I might just be there, too. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 07:15, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Just a Friendly Neighbourhood Quick Talk

Hey Gaile, I really just wanted to ask how you were, I haven't heard from you in so long, I hate having opposite timezones :( So how are ya going? I hope your going fantastic! And I hope your relaxing from all your hard work over the years! I miss talking but you know, things have to change for a reason. Anyhoo, I really only have enough to say that and thanks for the hard work over the years!!! Everyone loved you as a CRM and that your still out and about! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Dwaynas Hot Friend (talk).

Hey, there, DHF. I sure remember seeing you when I was visiting in the game. What's new with you? I'm doing great, thanks. Just returned from a business trip to Austin, Texas. I had some adventures; I should update my journal, I think! Anyway, I guess you could say I'm not really relaxing these days; I find that there's as much to sink my teeth into with the Support Liaison position as there was with being CRM, so I... well... if the objective was to cut back, I'm thinkin' I'm not really doin' it. But shhhh, that's just between you and me. ;) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 19:21, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

The Name

Queen Kylanf again, had to help my brother on his pokemon game by telling him what move to use and blah blah. But i saw a pokemon name that caught my attention. Where exactly did you get your name from Galie? Because i saw an ice pokemon called Glalie and i realised if i took off the first of the l's in it it spelt: Gaile

Btw,just a quick reminder-The party is this saturday [28th june] at 8:30pm GMT in Temple Of Balthazar international dis 1.

erm its like... her real name
Correct, it is my name. There's been a tad of confusion, at times. I remember a few people asking me in Diablo II if I chose my "handle" based on the Rogue NPC's name. "No," said I, "the NPC was named after me." And yes, generally that was met with disbelief. ("Suuure it was.") Someone more recently thought I chose "Gaile Gray" as a handle because it abbreviates as "GG." While I love that I can sign my emails with GG--and I often do--I assure you my parents didn't have a clue how handy that appellation would be, back in the day they were crowding around my newborn self, celebrating the arrival of a girl after two boys.
My father chose to name me based on our shared Welsh heritage. I'm told that Gail (of which Gaile is a derivation) is loosely translated as "Father's beloved daughter," but I have yet to confirm that fact with my Welsh-speaking friends. It would be pretty embarrassing if it was "Hey, we really didn't plan a third child but thank heavens she's female!" or something like that. *lol* -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 00:16, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
It's funny reading the part about NPC's named after people and so forth. Someone I knew in-game once thought he'd made a profound discovery after finding "WarBlade" in a screenshot printed in the Diablo II manual until I told him it wasn't me. Then along came Guild Wars and I got the same assumption about Hagnon Warblade. Eventually Nightfall gave me a little present that throws more humour into the mix, but very few people know of that particular connection. For more fun and merriment there is now a player character named after the NPC named after me! :D --WarBlade 05:19, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Too funny, WarBlade! I took screenies of my NPCs to post in my office, but my characters all have "Ceol" in them. For EotN, I like trying to figure out which of the Dev team is immortalized in the different NPCs. Blarp's a bit of a puzzle, though. :P Oh, and hi Gaile! Long time, no see. I often drop by here just to lurk and see how things are going with you.Ceolstan 13:10, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
I've also run into similar name fun with Melek the Virtuous sharing the same name as my main Melek Thervold. I got the name by modifying Malak from KotOR and created him before anyone outside the ANet dev team set foot on the Ring of Fire. Imagine my surprise when I first ran into him! --Thervold 15:50, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
I think it's cool that we can see so many friends in the game. Sometimes, our best friends. Sometimes, ourselves. :) And hey, Ceolstan, how nice to see you here! *hugs* -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 07:26, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Internet Cafe

I am going on holidays but I want that new dragon mask since I have till now all masks ingame from the beginning on. So I was thinking of going to a gaming internet cafe in the town were I go on holiday. But my question was how save is it? And what can I do to make it saver because I dont want to lose my account of 5000hours for just a stupid mask, but otherwich I just want to hold my collection complete. And you can buy the mask later because I go 3weeks on holidays:/. And you can give me the mask after the eventXD. So what can I best do? Death Slighertalk: Death Sligher 10:08, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

The game is quite large, you could try copying the whole .dat file to a memory stick. You may find some internet cafe's have it installed already though. There is no way of trading the mask, or buying it. If you have 250 victory tokens already, or you can buy them, you can trade them for the mask for about a week after the event usually at Imperial Supply Master Kagno. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 11:29, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

An Event of Frozen Proportions!

Hey-ho its off to event making i go. Hey Gaile, dont think i have forgotten that you still play the game! as ever im inviting you to come to an event within an event. The Dragon winter-fest! , Bladeradio is a sponsor of it so there will be lots of gifts and merriment!. Besides i want to see my pal froggy, ill keep him company while you play at your favorite haunt at the dragon nest this weekend. Im turning shing jea into winter! it should be fun, dont you think? even managed to turn Regina into an elf yesterday! hehe!!

ill be in International Shing Jea 1 all weekend, Anyway Hope to see you there! Frozenwind 19:27, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey again! Thanks a bunch for participating in my event! Made it all the more fun! Made me smile to see you mingle with the district as a player, and some of those outrageous comments made me laugh, that tonic i dearly want to see you know.Wolfie and Blade radio send there thanks and best wishes. And i must apologize for my eratic behaviour on the sunday i was getting tired (A bet is a bet). Ill send the pictures soon.
Hope you had fun Gaile and im sure i will see you again sometime. Frozenwind 13:17, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Yeah but then the entire community will be in an uproar since everyone practically knows that there is only one froggie in the entire guild wars universe. My question is this though, will froggie have a frog 2.0 for GW2? Renin 19:03, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi Gaile, remember me? I'm the User "Eleanor Murtor". We met in Shing Jea. I'm a friend of a Moderator from the german elite fansite called "Wartower" and we need a screen of your Minipet Froggy, for our database It would be nice, if you could bring that screen in a good size (best bmp) Please send this screen to talon@wartower.de

i know, I was there :P I was trying to help ;) --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 00:33, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi. I'm a little confused. If I take a screenshot and send it to you, the copyright remains the same. Or at least so I believe! Why would the copyright be any different if you simply took a screenshot in the game, or asked one of the many people who has taken such a screenshot if you could use it on the site? Why would it be different than using the screenshot from the Guild Wars Wiki, which is under a creative commons license?
I would be very happy to help in any way that I can. Wartower is a wonderful site and of course I'd want to extend help to the staff, just as any other player might do. If there's a desire for a new, different shot, I totally understand that desire. But could I understand the copyright concern better? Thanks so much, or rather, danke. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 01:06, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

The truth is, i dont understand this thing with the copyriths too. I'm just a User of this page, no Staff Member. The only thing i know is, that we cant use the screen on wiki. For further questions, you can ask our admin Nr. 1. He can explain you better about the copyriths in Wartower than me. This is for a private message on our website. I'm not sure about his email. I think it is savage@wartower.de but i'm not sure about that.
Thanks for your efforts ;)
--Maria Murtor 11:11, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
I tried to look up some stuff on screenshots and copyrights and stuff a few days ago, but couldn't find anything at the time. It confuses me too. And there's nothing in the EULA about it. --Star Weaver 17:23, 7 July 2008 (UTC) (forgot to sign this one, 20 minutes ago?)
It's probably because the GFDL on this wiki isn't usable with wartower's license. You could probably send it in an email, or upload it on imageshack or something. -- Mini Me talk 17:12, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Template:screenshot dosen't say GFDL, it says ARENANET PROPERTY. Which honestly sounds bizare to me; Anet owns the stuff the picture is of, obviously, but I would personally think not the actual composition of pixels and resultant image file, e.g., photography. But I couldn't find anything about what the law actually thinks about this subject, so, who knows.
But yeah, aside from that, if person A makes item X and uploads it to the wiki, person B can take X and use it per the GDFL. But person A can give X to B directly and the GDFL will not be binding upon B, or A could upload it at site L under the BSD liscene where person C can use it by those rules, or whatever, because ownership trumps liscencing except in the case of a contract to grant exclusive rights. --Star Weaver 17:23, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Are there still questions about the copy rights? I miss a statement from you Gaile. Did you contactet someone of the Wartower team? --Maria Murtor 20:47, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Why do you ignore me ;( ? --Maria Murtor 13:31, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
I am sorry, Maria, I am not ignoring you. I should have been more clear. I would rather not take the screenshot. I would prefer to meet a site staff member in the game and have that person take the screenshot. In that way, the image can be exactly as needed for the database, including size, resolution, focal point, angle, file type, etc. (That is why I suggested that you take the screenshot the evening we spoke; it just seemed a good idea.) And by meeting a staff member and having them take the screenshot, I believe we can avoid any confusion about the copyright, as well, for many people take screenshots every day and there are no issues with the copyright in those cases.
I hope that Talon or another site staff member will write me an email -- my email on the wiki is accessible -- and then we can get this request fulfilled very soon. I am more than happy to oblige! -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 17:07, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
All right. I will handle it. Thanks --Maria Murtor 19:28, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Looks like we got that screenshot taken care of, and it was delightful to meet you, Maria. Thank you for organizing this image-taking venture. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 06:07, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

D3

Hey Gaile. We know your a big fan of the Diablo series. What do you think about the recent annoucement of the new game? Have you seen the gameplay trailer? Also, what do Jeff Strain, Mike O'Brien and Patrick Wyatt think about D3. We know all 3 were ex-Blizzard men who worked on Diablo/battlnet. --92.235.8.13 18:49, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Things Diablo 3 needs: less color where it doesn't belong, less cartoonish, and a light radius. I really don't like the direction blizzard is taking the graphics. — Teh Uber Pwnzer 21:35, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
The Cartoon-ish-ness is kinda blizzard's style. --Wolf User Great Darkwolf UserImage.jpg 02:24, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

IMO it's the least cartoonish looking Blizzard game to date. -- Gordon Ecker 23:46, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
People's memories of a game and what the game actually was do often differ. Looking through some of the Diablo 2 environments again, I can't say they really do look that realistic - though they do have a different style and ambience from the Diablo 3 screenshots so far. Act 5 especially seems to remind me of Renaissance-era paintings with its artwork. Detailed, lifelike, but not completely photographic. Other acts vary a bit; the detail in act 4, especially the way it's lit, seem to be trying to carry an apocalyptic/hellish feel (unsurprisingly - but I have to say the rendition doesn't work as well as it could), act 1 is a little more dreary/gothic etc.
By contrast, what we've seen of Diablo 3 seems to carry a bit of a "fairytale" look to it, for some reason. I notice things appear a bit more washed-out, there isn't really much surface detail on some things such as rock slabs, and so on. That applies even in the dungeon - it's not a Diablo 2 Catacombs style dungeon but more the way you might imagine a dungeon to appear in a family movie. ;)
That said, the art styles in all the acts of Diablo 2 seemed different. Indications are Diablo 3 will be doing the same thing. Perhaps the so-called "cartoony" style is in fact intentional for this, probably first, part of the game? -- Sirius (talk) 04:46, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

What do you like to eat?

Hey Gaile! I know this sounds like a strange request, but seeing how it will be my first time in Seattle in August when we go to PAX, I was wondering if you had any restaurants or eateries you could recommend us? High-end, casual, any ideas would be great! We're very open to all kinds of foods, too! If you (or any other ArenaNet employee, for that matter) has any suggestions, could you list them here? Thanks! :D Kokuou 03:15, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I forgot about this! I'll list a few places in Seattle that I like. Most are on the "fine dining" side of things because I don't live in the city, so when I go for dinner it's usually in conjunction with something special, like a Seattle Symphony concert, opera, ballet... yeah, you know, the non-gamer side of things that I love to I do. :) Ponti is a personal fave. McCormick & Schmick's is another. Some people like Brooklyn, near Benaroya Hall, and I love their fish and chips (served lunchtime only, I think) but they're a major oyster place, and oysters give me the willies so that's not a place I often select. (I do love how they built a skyscaper around the restaurant, though, rather than tearing down the older building.) At the Pike Place Market, Cutter's Bayhouse is pretty good and has views to die for, being right on the water. For more casual fare, there are some really nice microbreweries near the Market, and a cute Irish-style pub in Post Alley, too. If you can find a Romio's, and you like Italian, stop and enjoy! I adore Romio's cheese pizza -- it's my favourite pizza in Washington state -- and their garlic cheese bread and pastas are really yummy, too. Beware the salads -- I saw one served to a nearby table that looked delicious but was big enough to feed a family of four. :) We have some great Asian restaurants in the International District, and several good Thai eateries are scattered around the city. I've not had Indian food in Seattle proper (and I looove Indian food!) but I'd told India Bistro in Ballard is good. And some of my family members like The Spaghetti Factory on Elliott (I am personally not a huge fan, preferring Olive Garden myself).
Have a great time at PAX, and I hope you enjoy Seattle, as well! -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 19:52, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Stupid Question...

hey gaile, would it be alright if i added you to my friends list in GW, i think you're really awesome and so does my sister. Beriya of Newts 7/29/08

Another question... possibly stupid also... Gaile, I've often wondered, do you ever get to game on the Live server in peace? :D -- WarBlade 12:55, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
She has said that she does have personal accounts thats not known to players. But as soon as she signs on her work account people search the guild wars world to find her. But thats because she's such a awesome person and fun to talk to :D --BabyJ 13:31, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
Aye she has a lot of accounts, you may actually have partied with her without knowing. I wonder how many times she was called 'NUUB' by players not knowing it's her :P --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 13:53, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
I only refer to people as "noob" or "nub" or the like if they truely are quite new to the game and still figuring things out, but then it's only in context like: "He's still a noob, cut him/her some slack." It wouold be interesting to know if we have partied with Gaile at some point or another and not known it. --Wolf User Great Darkwolf User Image paw.png 14:08, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, exactly. That's why I'd only use henchies/heroesm(or friends). I can boss them around as much as I want and they won't complain! Well, I won't do it when I'm playing with friends, but, you know. I'm too busy having fun to boss them around, and everything usually goes well. With PUGs, on the other hand... -- Mini Me talk 21:45, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
Bah@PuGs. I don't find myself wanting to boss people around, but I do expect a certain level of compitance from the average player. The reality of that "certain level" has dropped too far for me to think about picking up a PuG again, or atleast for a long time. --Wolf User Great Darkwolf User Image paw.png 21:48, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Adding me as a friend is not just ok, it's very nice of you. (You guys ought to not tease -- someone might believe you with the "auto-ban" nonsense! :) )

I do have a lot of accounts and I play quite a bit. If I'm working on my Party Animal or Sweet Tooth titles, I play on my main (work) account as Gaile Gray, because that is the character on whom I spend all my sweets and party goods. I probably should have done that on a real, player character -- you know, a Level 20 ;) -- but I like that character and will probabaly get Drunkard on that one, too, at some point. So you'll catch me online with Gaile sometimes, and with others on her account -- most of them mules. (Yes, I *feeeeeel* the storage pinch, with bow collections, mini stables, green items, "pretty items that I just happen to need to keep," unique quest item save-ables, and more.) And I'm on with my other accounts, too, although you may not see me then.

Hope we'll run into one another sometime. And if I call targets, you'll see "bossy" at a new level. *lol* :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 21:54, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Haha, I have gotten bossy from time to time, although most of it is focused into me calling targets like a zealot. --Wolf User Great Darkwolf User Image paw.png 22:10, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

When people indent, they usually either indent it one more than the comment to which they are replying, or one more than the last comment (regardless of who they are responding to). Using {{ri}} shows you're continuing with the discussion but going back to the beginning of the indent, whereas an undefined reset might indicate a general comment not related to the ongoing discussion. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 22:18, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Wait, so you're saying this is bad? ;) ;) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 06:35, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
I don't know, it can be quite interesting if somebody is trying to make a point but doesn't quite get there and just rambles on and on and on about something that's vaguely related to what they are speaking about but could really be expressed in much fewer words. At least you'd get to practice vertical reading ability anyway. Or more likely somebody will just come along and reset the indent for you. :) Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 11:42, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
I try to reset indents when I am speaking to the OP, or to another major point in a busy thread. Sometimes we have bits and pieces of convo between the original comment or question, so I think RI makes it clear to whom I'm responding. But you might notice I sometimes add comments to the extra bits, too. I also use the reset when I'm answering several comments in the same thread, so as to avoid the assumption that my response is to that intended subtopic.
In this case, responding to this subtopic, I'm aligning without a reset. I think I'm doing things the proper way, but as always, welcome feedback if I should change my wiki ways. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 23:01, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

A Word of Appreciation

Today I, once again, was listening to the Guild Wars soundtrack CDs and I want to say, Beautiful, just beautiful. Ppl may already said this million of times, but I want to say a big thank you to Arena Net and the Soule Brothers for the wonderful soundtracks (especially Factions CD, track 1 :P), money well spent. Anyway, I know this is an out of subject topic when compared to the rest of the discussions around (even though I'm famous for going out of topic :P) but I wanted to show my appreciation for the wonderful pieces of art. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 23:15, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

I agree with you -- the soundtracks for Guild Wars are simply marvelous. I often stop to listen to a favourite piece when I'm in the game. I pick certain areas to farm based on their themes. And even after three years, I find the music so awesome I often fire up the CD and listen when I'm writing. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 20:09, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Introduction to GW2?

Hi Gaile. I was wondering with a friend that a lot of people would really appreciate the addition of new stuff to the game. We were giving it a thought and in my personal opinion it would be great that you could add some introduction to GW2. The players would like to see the things that change the world between GW1 and GW2. We were guessing that maybe Anet could add something like BMP new missions. In each of these new missions you could play a role in the fall of Ascalon, maybe playing yourself as Pyre. Or, we could play a mission as Livia were she founds the Orr Scepter, as seen in the ending cinematic from EotN, maybe she even wakes up the undead dragon that raises the Orr realm from its under sea bed. Also, I think that it would be awesome to play a mission with our characters fighting against Primordious, and failing maybe even to death. What do you think about this kind of missions? --ReiNaruto 08:26, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Honorable Ms Gaile Gray is now for support issue's. Your question can be directed to Regina. Be a bit patient with Regina though, she is extremely busy. --Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 08:59, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
It's more for the suggestion page rather than Regina's, and i like the idea where there's a mission showing us how our character died (if died in an honorable way) :P. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 11:34, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
I would say that something like this will happen, but not until after the release of GW2. Just like the BMP was released in order to provide lore, but it was release a long time after the release of the game and I think if Anet does this it will be in the same fashion. Maybe they will suprise me and it pop up in the ingame store idk :) --ShadowphoenixPlease, talk to me; I'm so lonely ;-; 15:09, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
