Teller of Tales

Could you delete this page Teller of Tales please, seems I recreated it with gwwt the second Rainith deleted it :P Fall 00:43, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Nvm heh everyone here is so fast :P Fall 00:46, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Not a sysop anymore either. :) -- Gem (gem / talk) 00:48, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

fissure of woe chest

Not worth keeping the old article as a redirect, I could imagine typing that as a search term? --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 19:09, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Don't think so, i thought about it already. But do as you wish, it doesn't matter to me. I'll be putting links to the real article anyway. -- Gem (gem / talk) 19:10, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeh I think unless it is a completely bizarre redirect it is always worth keeping them. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 19:15, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

User Page

...Just finished uploading the last of my character images, and reworked my page recently as well... thought you might want to see it! And before you say anything, I am fully aware that I probably did a lot more work on the page then I needed. (never thought I would come close to breaking page size policy, but it's actually not far off.) any comments? :P --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 20:48, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

It's nice. :) And long. The colors are a pretty 'dirty dark' shades, which work well for most of them, but a couple are a bit problematic imho. Ofcourse it's a matter of taste so no prob as long as you like it. :) -- Gem (gem / talk) 21:01, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
I had particular trouble with some of the profession colors, I based the headers off the skill icons and made the secondary color darker; some of those came out a bit too dark. But all in all, I think it's still readable, so no reason to spend too much time on it.
And I was debating scooting the character profiles off to a separate page, but I kinda like having it all self-contained, rather then spread out. :P Thanks for the comment! I made the page, I showed it off, and now I guess... I'm done with it? Bleh. Guess I have to actually play the game now. :P --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 21:06, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Nope! Next is, redesign ofcourse! (That's how I do it ;) ) - anja talk 21:16, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Moving the characters to a separate page is my preference, but I guess you know it already. -- Gem (gem / talk) 21:20, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
I'll probably add more stuff the the page, until I'm forced to split it into multiple pages. :P I'm running out of personal information to list, though! --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 21:35, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Howdy: On Oct 8th, you set up the above names page to have a redirect, that doesn't exist? where you working on a project? or should this be fixed? Thanks...LeFick 02:54, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

I set the image to redirect to the article page just like every skill image should. If the article is missing then anyone can add the article if they have the in game information for it. -- Gem (gem / talk) 07:27, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
I see what you did now, thanks. I was considering doing that for other items, like fireworks, festival hats and such, as for me its more intuitive to click the picture than click the word. Do you think redirects should be used on most inage files to point back to the aricle page? If so, can you think of any examples of images types that should not be redirected? LeFick 12:22, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Hmm, I think we have a formatting guide on this, but I'm not taking the time to check on that now. You should probably though. Skill images must always be redirect pages due to them being used instead of text link on many pages. I'd also imagine that all 'icons' such as item inventory icons from the game should be redirects. -- Gem (gem / talk) 12:26, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
I'll look into that further, but speaking as a relative newcommer, I imagine I could get a Masters degree just sorting through all the formatting guides and policies I've read so far. Cheers! LeFick 21:33, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
I might take the time to look into this if no one else helps you out. -- Gem (gem / talk) 22:39, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Progress Lists

Hi Gem, I've been checking out your userpage, and I came across your progress lists for missions, vanquishes etc. I've long kept lists like this for my own characters in a nice little spreadsheet, but up until now I hadn't found a nice way of adding such info to my user page. Would you mind terribly if I stole the idea as a basis for my own page? -- Elveh 16:32, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Not at all. :) I always encourage experimenting and going for a personal style, so if not in a hurry I suggest trying out some stuff and making it look personal and unique, although still keeping the basis intact. -- Gem (gem / talk) 16:47, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Great, thanks! I always butcher the models I steal anyway, because I have no li- er, that is, because I like to take the time to adjust things to my personal taste. I like the basis you set up, though, so the tables won't end up getting changed beyond recognition. :) -- Elveh 17:01, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Hehe, great. Let me know when you're ready and I'll view 'em. :) -- Gem (gem / talk) 17:22, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
I'll probably get around to that somewhere around midnight. I'm editing my pages right now, and lord knows that once I start editing, I go on a frenzy. :) -- Elveh 17:35, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Draft version up in my Sandbox. I've taken out the mapping part, as I do my mapping and vanquishing at the same time anyway. I'm going to be working a little on the colouring, but this is the overall layout I'll stick with. :) -- Elveh 10:28, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
It looks less crowded and a bit nicer wihout the extra column, but unfortunately it's necessary for me since I've explored areas before hard mode was available, and I've sometimes forgotten to explore while vanquishing. -- Gem (gem / talk) 19:41, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
I think most people suffer that problem- while vanquishing Cantha I missed an area or two because a friend and I used to go on vanquish-marathons. I'm doing things at a much slower pace now though, because I don't have time for six-area runs anymore. I'm less likely to forget this stuff. :) -- User Elveh sig.png Elv 19:50, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
