User images[edit]

Hey, as you probably already have noticed, I moved your images to Image:User IIFearII Banned Angel.jpg and Image:User IIFearII Kaine Vale.jpg to be conform with out image use policy. It says that images that are for use in the user space should be prefixed with User and your username. So for you, the images have to be prefixed with "User IIFearII" and then you can add whatever description you want to add :) Happy editing! poke | talk 13:46, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

You did understand that, right? poke | talk 15:36, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
i do... thanx for the move/edit and letting me know about it :D IIFearII 16:03, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
I have moved Image:User Koloth Nornblood.JPG to the correct location and changed your userpage to match. Please name the images as poke described.- TheRave talk (talk) 16:17, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

graphic glitches in GW[edit]

hey eeryone, im thinking of making a little blog of this discussion page... and the first topic i want to mention are the graphic glitches in GW. all sorts of texture glitches resulting in GW crashing or causing a BSoD. no way that its me or my pc. only way that would be possible if that its possible to have a GPU to strong and fast to run GW, but thats unlikely. i already did a -image to my gw and it didnt fix it. suggestions are alway welcome ofcourse, because this problem is pissing me off a little bit and makes me not wanna play GW because i cant farm because of the glitches, i cant join parties to venture into dungeons or other elite area's and stuff like that.

User Page Layout[edit]

If you are interested in having your pages on tabs, the first thing you will need to do is create separate pages for each tab you think you would want to have. I looked up your pages and right now all you have is your one main page. You can add additional pages to your userspace as you need them. For example... your main user page is http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User:IIFearII ... you can add a new page to that simply by adding /name_of_new_page at the end of it in your browser's address bar... i.e. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User:IIFearII/name_of_new_page or by creating a link to the page as I have done for you below.

If you want to create pages as I have done below all you have to do is add this to any one of your pages. User:IIFearII/New_Page_Name Don't forget to change "New_Page_Name" to the name you want. I know its silly to mention but some people don't get it.

If I were you, the first thing I would to to get started is... I would start by putting each of my characters on their own page. Copy and paste each of your character's info on the main page to these pages below. When you are done you can remove those characters from your main page and then we can create tabs or a page nav for you to work with.

User:IIFearII/Silan The Empowered ~ User:IIFearII/Koloth Nornblood ~ User:IIFearII/Rimiz Aldorezz

User:IIFearII/Shimini Hirashiro ~ User:IIFearII/Iromato Hotomachi ~ User:IIFearII/Moraya Haoshi

User:IIFearII/Minion Of Whispers ~ User:IIFearII/Kaine Vale ~ User:IIFearII/Banned Angel

Cool thanx... i did it now, didnt know that i could make extra pages like this... now i think i can make a basic character navigation but i would really love to have my characters on tabs. your help so far has been great but if you could help me with a tabs menu that would be so very awsome.
I'd love to but I don't know a whole lot about the tabs. I have not gotten that far in my wiki-education. It has to do with borders being drawn based on what page the nav bar is on. I haven't learned the if command well enough to use it. If you want you can try just creating a nav bar and go from there with it. Elric 14:40, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
well as you might have seen ive made a table with links to my characters pages. but wat i really would like to make would be images that link to my character pages. ive tried some things so far but none of them worked. here is wat i tried so far:

and

and
image:<image>.png|User:IIFearII/Silan The Empowered
none of them worked though so i hope you know the code that could help me out. thanx in advance. IIFearII 15:04, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
I went through this same problem. This wiki has an issue with linked images. You can edit the image to add a redirect like this -- #redirect <page_name> to the page of the character if it is your own image or You have to use this template -- if you want to use an image that is already on the wiki or already has a redirect some where else. Elric 15:15, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Another thought... You might want to try adding _NOEDITSECTION_ to the top of your pages to get rid of the edit button inside of each of your characters tables.
getting rid of that edit button wont stop people from editing it anway... just type http://wiki.guildwars.com/index.php?title=User:<username>&action=edit in the browser searchbar and you will be able to edit any page you like except when its protected by admins.

(Reset indent) I know it doesn't keep other people from editing the page. It's just a personal preference for taste and appearance. The edit tag is only there because you used the headline command to make that text bold. To get rid of that specific edit tag and still be able to use the = for making letters big all you have to do is add _NOEDITSECTION_ onto your page. Elric 17:22, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

about that redirecting pages, that would become something like:

right?? only this doesnt work. maybe you could help me a bit once again ? i really apreciate that your helping me btw :)
you have too much in the template. Take out the "image:" after the image= in the template. The template already has the image: part of the command in it.
Like this

results in this

Character Nav[edit]

I made you a page for a character nav... you can use it on all of your character pages by inclusion like all the other templates. I put it on your main page so you can see how it works. Here is the char nav I made User:IIFearII/charnav you can edit this one nav and it will change on all of your pages instead of editing 9 different character pages just to add a new item on the nav or to change something about your nav. If you like you can add it to the top of all of your character pages like I have on mine. Elric 17:18, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

thank you very much elric, i really apreciate all your help and all the work you put into this. props to you IIFearII 17:43, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
It's no problem. I tried helping the wiki by doing things in the Main section but the sissy ops here don't like the changes I make even if I believe they are only for the better. So I try to help people that want to work on their own pages now. Screw the main namespace. There are enough anal retentive jerks working on it. Anywho... sorry short rant...
Here is something you might want to learn and bookmark in your web explorer. http://wiki.guildwars.com/index.php?title=Special%3APrefixIndex&from=IIFearII&namespace=2 This is every page that you have created in your userspace. You might find that you have a lot of pages to work on after a while and not know how to get to and find each one. Elric 17:49, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
that will be very helpfull indeed. i cant thank you enough. and if you ever feel like ranting, just come on my discussion page. i dont mind :P anyway thank you again, also for making that template. got it working like a charm now :D IIFearII 17:54, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
I didn't make the template. Someone else did and showed me how to use it. I am merely a vassal of knowledge. Albeit only half full but whatever. I spent a lot of time exploring the wiki for a couple of months straight and taught myself a combination of wikicode, css, and html. It was a fun education until I tried to start actually helping in the mainspace. Major philosophy differences between myself and most of the sysops. Elric 18:02, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
i know a bit of html and css myself aswell. its the php and wiki code that are killing me :P
You can do a lot with just css. A lot of the wiki code seems to follow some of the same kind of command structures that css does. It helps to read the Help:Contents extensively and explore as many of the pages there as you can. Personally... I just kept working on my pages and exploring other peoples, I saw something I liked on another page and then hunted down the info on how to do it until I understood how it works. Don't forget.. you can also use a sandbox to practice your wikicode. Here is a link to one for you. User:IIFearII/sandbox You don't have to use the public sandbox, you can have one of your own. There you can practice your code and then move the working code to the page it needs to be on when you are happy with the way it looks. Elric 18:11, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

HTML page...[edit]

I might be up for that. i don't often log into this, but I'm up for it! Taka Ragranok 01:30, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Soz, I forget Wiki doesn't auto sign for you...lol...

but yeah, general stuff, such as:

"I am a proud member of the Wintersday Legion [Wntr], a guild that tries to promote Wintersday cheer year-round. While we are small (to my knowledge, we probably only have two people, as it's our hectic part of the year), we'd love company! If we go for titles we tend to give away most of the drops (unless its something uber, like a BDS), as gift-giving is a part of the Wintersday credo."

"This user is a Luxon."

"This user follows Balthazar."

"This user is a Wintersday fanatic."

I do not know how to work out HTMLs for builds and that sort of thing...but I hope this gives you a general idea! Thanks, if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Taka Ragranok 01:30, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

You around, bra? Taka Ragranok 04:51, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Ey[edit]

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! You user page looks fine, but have a look at my userpage templates. Don't edit them, but add them to your main user, edit the texts, userboxes, and images, and you will have something like mine! If you need any help, get back to me on my projects page!

Thanks for waiting ;)--DAVAUser Dav Tick green.png 16:25, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
