Eye of The North Armor[edit]

While I'm still disappointed by the crappy re-skins that make up the majority of the armor from the Eye of The North expansion, I did buy the Monument Armor for my Male Mesmer last night, and yea, I ended up hating it (the pants ad boots might be okay with something else) but at least it gave me a chance to take good clear shots of it to post here in excess even.  ;) Had shots of that quality been up ahead of time, I probably would not have wasted my money on the set. lol Oh well, no big loss. I'll find a use for some of the armor pieces. ~ User:J.Kougar J.Kougar 22:39, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, I found a use for the Monument stuff (awful top excluded) I just had to get an Elite Rouge top to put with it, then try and dye everything to match the pnats and boots. Think it came out okay. Click to See ~ User:J.Kougar J.Kougar 00:56, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
A pretty funny combination. Not as bad as it could be. :) -- Gem (gem / talk) 09:20, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

GWW:NPA block[edit]

Given previous recent warnings, your recent contributions show a knowledgeable disregard for the policies of this wiki, thus you have been blocked from editing for 1 week. Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 03:11, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Look, dumbass... you should already know you can't ban me, they tried before, and as long as idiots like you stay the heck out of my way I don't have any reason to maliciously do anything to your site, and can instead work on positive and constructive things like the Monument Armor gallery for the Male Mesmers that I did earlier today (as well as all my other submissions) but your idiotic reasons for trying to block me now are only keeping me from fixing an error I made in that page, so back th hell off and let me finish my work okay? That way the users can get accurate information and after I finish that I'll deal with morons like you. Thanks. :) ~ J.Kougar
My fiance, J.Kougar, is just trying to help you people. He spends hours working on images and coding for this site, and you want to nit-pick and block him because he doesn't like some of the idiots who work for ArenaNet? That's idiotic. Yes, he gets to be a bit much at times but he does more harm than good. Why can't you see that? User:Sabastian Sabastian 04:05, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks hon. I don't think Aiiane was around the last time they tried to ban me and then sat pulling out their hair trying to block an unlimited supply of proxies that I kept throwing at them and posting with. You are right though, the only reason she banned me is because she's got her nose so far up Gaile's butt that my pointing out the fact that Gaile has made so many mistakes and doesn't know much about the game, is more than enough reason for her to try and throw a ban at me (personal bias). I really wonder why I work so hard to do things for this site at times, but then I remember it's for the other players... not the idiot fan boy mods who do nothing but kiss the staff's butt all day. ~ J.Kougar
My question to you, Mr. Sabastian, is such: if you donate millions of dollars a year to charities for the homeless, does that give you permission to rob a woman blind on the street?
Violations of policy are violations of policy, regardless of other contributions. There were plenty of warnings given, and the actions for which the block was given were easily avoidable and unnecessary. If your significant other were truly acting in the good faith of this wiki, then he should have pursued options within the bounds of its rules. You spelled his name wrong, try reading before you post. Yeash. I think my above message to Sabby explains it pretty well. I really don't have much more to say to a foolish butt kisser like you.  ;) ~ J.Kougar
J.'s harsh criticism of Gaile and Izzy are hardly comparable to physical violence. He is just like a lot of users and doesn't like them or how they do things, or all the mistakes they make. I don't blame him. He's just one of the few willing to be honest about how he feels, but his contributions to this site greatly outweigh any aggravation he might have given to someone who is trying to do a job they know very little about. User:Sabastian Sabastian 04:19, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Is mugging someone really comparable to criticizing someone's job performance? --Edru viransu 04:11, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Nope, she's just a big drama queen. ~ J.Kougar

Aiiane, I'd like to apologize for the above outburst. You should know as well as anyone that I don't normally 'name-call' or use 'foul language', and normally conduct myself in a courteous manner when posting content to this site or simply taking part in debates. However, the fact that I was attempting to correct an error (lazy cut & paste job with some of my coding) in a page I spent hours on today to better serve the users of this Wiki, and you were getting in my way with attempts to block me without due reason (other than your personal feelings towards Gaile) and forcing me to have to stop for a second to select another proxy from the list in my MultiProxy program before I could continue, and while that list is nearly infinite and it's not much trouble to jump around at all, it was aggravating to me to spend more time than necessary when trying to fix an issue on this site. Thus, I rather rudely snapped at you. I'd also like to apologize for the threat. Yes, I could easily cause you and the rest of the staff quite the headache with reverts and such on a very wide scale, but I don't want to do that when I've worked so hard to contribute to this site. I'm not saying you don't deserve it for your abuse of power, but I don't want to put the other users through that. So, I'll respect your poorly excused reason for the ban and stay out of my account for the time being. I'll only further side-step your ban to reply to others whom reply to me on something that really can't afford to wait a week. ~ J.Kougar

Good apology, except that going around your ban for any reason is enough to ban you even longer. I highly recommend just waiting your 1 week and just get the people who you need to talk too, to PM you ingame or through email.--§ Eloc § 07:21, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Good point, but considering the circumstances I think it's forgivable for the time being (especially since I'm only posting on my page and when I wasn't I was editing a page and uploading images to improve an article... nothing disruptive or destructive), and I don't have people on here that I need to converse with except for those who respond, much like yourself, and I certainly don't have your IGN handy.  ;) ~ J.Kougar
Threats of vandalism and disrupting the wiki are also violations of GWW:NPA, and are also worthy of administrative action.
Kougar, even those of us who have don't particularly support Gaile Gray/Izzy/ANet and many of their decisions can see that your comments are far past what's acceptable; valid criticism does not justify personal attacks, especially when they are as persistent as yours. If you genuinely want to help the wiki, then you are going the wrong way about it. Please seriously take this time to cool off and try to step out from your shoes and read your contributions from the point of view of an impartial third party, and you'll see how terribly rude and hostile your comments towards her are, going far past just valid critique of how her she does her job. Allowing those kinds of comments towards anyone, Gaile Gray or not, is just not right. --Dirigible 07:37, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm well aware, but dwelling on that after it's been apologized for just comes across as a challenge and could be perceived as an attempt to egg someone on to try and get away with more serious rule violations than simply pointing out the faults of various staff members whom are harming the game overall with their actions. I don't want that anyone than you or anyone else does, otherwise I'd not spend so many hours working on images and such to post on this wiki to improve it for the other players and community. This wiki is linked to in game now, any player can find it and use it, so having moderators running around all willy-nilly and banning people over nothing isn't going to do much in a positive kinda way.
As for personal attacks, well, opinions do vary I suppose. As far as I'm concerned I've never made a personal attack against Gaile or Izzy, doing so would require insulting them on a personal level such as saying they are smelly, stupid, ugly, or whatnot... which I would not do. I have pointed out their lack of qualifications for their job, the mistakes they constantly make that have led me to those conclusions, and suggestions about how they might improve their performance in their positions to better help the game instead of hindering it, but banning me and claiming I made personal attacks against Gaile today when all I did was point out why I thought the excuse she gave me in response to my inquiry was likely something she didn't actually check in on but rather used only information that she currently possessed, which I feel to be incorrect. There was no personal attack in the post I made that Aiiane linked to at the start of this, what she banned me for, I simply pointed out some of the mistakes that everyone is already aware of that Gaile has made, to justify why I thought her explanation was incorrect. Nothing ban worthy and worth stirring up all this trouble for, and exactly why it's clear that Aiiane abused her powers in light of her personal feelings towards me, to enforce a ban that she should have known would only result in more trouble than it was ever worth due to it being unjustified.
Sure, I do point out the mistakes that Gaile and Izzy make, often at that, but it's because they are doing this for a living and should be far more knowledgeable about their game than I am, and when they flaunt their lack of necessary knowledge, it really irks me and a lot of other folks. People like to point out my past mistakes on this Wiki and never let me live them down, so why should I be willing to just forget the mistakes that they make, especially since their mistakes are gravely hurting a game I enjoy? ~ J.Kougar
While a persons definition of personal attacks do vary, we do have some pretty strict rules regarding personal attacks and what is considered a personal attack.--§ Eloc § 08:39, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
...okay, and given I didn't hit any of those points in the response I made in question, I only explained why I thought that Gaile was incorrect in her statement and backed it up with instances where she's made other mistakes, so why was I banned? ~ J.Kougar

Someone just permaban everything here and we won't have this happen again. Lord Belar 14:46, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

I doubt any of those are still good, it says they were last updated on June 20, 2003 and proxies don't often last more than a few weeks. I know J. gets his lists from several other sites each week and just runs them through that program, so blocking a few hundred out-of-date ones on that site won't help much I don't think. The sheer number of sites offering up lists of hundreds of proxies every day makes blocking them all pretty impossible. At least that's how it's been explained to me; he's more savvy with that stuff than I am. User:Sabastian Sabastian 16:25, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Their problem isn't maintaining a list. It's that they think people might actually use proxies to contribute positively here: Guild Wars Wiki talk:No open proxies. ~ J.Kougar
You know, I wondered how long it would take before other people started posting as me, like the comment above, claiming to be me or signing my name to things, as the above poster did, but not actually being me. Makes me curious if this is happening anywhere else on the site now, and what else people might be getting blamed on me. ~ J.Kougar
I don't know how you think you can justify the position you are making, not only are you openly circumventing a ban, you are threatening further disruption to the wiki to make your agenda known. You then thrown out more insults calling Aiiane a "dumbass" and an "idiot". Your comments about Gaile are clearly personal, you have made your objections to her position known more than once, but when you turn every conversation with Gaile into the same attack it is clearly more than an objective assessment, but goes much deeper into what I would go so far as to describe as harassment. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 20:18, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
If you think I'm threatening to disrupt this wiki, then you missed some important information in this section, and it would be good to go back and catch up, as that's anything but the case. I did explain my outburst at Aiiane and apologized to her for it. My comments about Gaile and Izzy aren't personal attacks against them, just against the fact that they aren't qualified to do the job they are doing, and are inadvertently hurting the game and the community as a result. I'm far from the only user who is giving them a hard time for their mistakes, Reamem and Edru viransu, are two examples that automatically spring to mind when I think about all the people who are resisting and objecting to the work that Gaile and Izzy are doing... so it's not like I'm the only one who is unhappy or posting about it. ~ J.Kougar
Also, in light of the post that the previous purple response was to, would you be so kind as to let me know if my name is appearing anywhere else besides this talk page, as I am not posting anywhere but here, and only in response to persons like yourself. ~ J.Kougar
"Look, dumbass... you should already know you can't ban me, they tried before, and as long as idiots like you stay the heck out of my way I don't have any reason to maliciously do anything to your site," That did sound like a threat in there to me. As for your other points, I think they have been addressed by myself and other users already on this talk page. As for people signing their comments and pretending to be you, I have not seen that anywhere else as yet. But if you were not circumventing a ban and posting anonymously then this would not be a problem, as far as I know this might not even be you now. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 22:18, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Good point, but I'm pretty sure I'm me, and as for your quote I already addressed and apologized for that, explaining why that isn't the case to a couple people on this page so far. You forgive people for little outbursts all the time, and given it isn't a common thing and not something I'm standing behind and claiming is what I'm doing or planning to do, or how I feel (as I have with most of my other statements) I'm hoping that you and everyone else can just look past that and if need be instead focus on the statements that I do support, like the lack of qualifications that certain staff members of ArenaNet have, and how its affecting the game. Still, I have to admit that you have a point on the whole circumventing of my ban bit, but as I already explained it was initially done to fix an article and then only has continued as a means to respond to those responding to me here, as if I simply ignore the responses and then once unbanned return and respond, I'd only be dragging up a week old issue at that point which I would assume would be far worse. If you can lock this page to prevent further comments from anyone until the week has passed that would be great, or once people stop responding to me here I'll stop responding to them, and then let this al sit till the ban expires. ~ J.Kougar
