[edit] User talk:Tanaric#RFA: Slander
Hi. I know you've no idea who I am, but yeah - basically.
A F K When Needed 20:03, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- Don't say that, I've seen you around (not that I'm stalky or anything, just saying.. ahem). --Lensor (talk) 23:25, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Unconditional apologies
Must consist of this, I presume: [1]. Pika Fan 16:37, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- I chose to assume good faith here. He obviously was frustrated, wrote something snippy, and then thought better of it. It is still has the feel of "oh I'll give you an apology covering anything and everything I may have done so you'll stop complaining" to it, but at face value it is unconditional so I choose to read it that way. --Lensor (talk) 16:42, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- I suppose. But I really feel that if he can't even handle doubts cast onto his character properly, he's really not ready to be a sysop. Pika Fan 16:46, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, I am not voting support. I just don't feel strongly enough about it to go out and oppose outright either. --Lensor (talk) 16:55, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- I do respect your opinion, but nobody really needs reasoning to maintain neutral...it's just being neutral. I just find it odd to trust someone with big things when they can't even handle smaller ones. Pika Fan 17:00, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Just a question
So, I cannot even delete my own ex-guild, even if I should have never made it in the first place? Thrain
contribs 20:32, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Not to my knowledge. The basic rule is that guild pages are not deleted (much as a user also cannot be deleted from the wiki). Of course, historical guilds are into the thousands, so one more or less hardly matters, but I think that decision has to be made by a sysop not us mortal users :P.--Lensor (talk) 20:37, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I'd rather ask a friendly question than start a revert war. I'm still rather new here, and I am not familiar with all of the rules. Again, thanks. Thrain

- Well, according to my reading of the policy, they can be deleted, it's just not really necessary, and there might be some hoops to jump through (proving you're the leader, no one else edited the page, etc.). My $0.02. -- FreedomBound

- Thanks Freedom, I had missed that part. So you can delete a guild page if you really want to (a simple delete tag would not suffice if I read that correctly though), but it is not really worth the trouble. At least not IMO. Just think of the historical guilds category as an archive of all guilds (on the Wiki) that ever were. They do not really serve any other purpose than just being a reference. Btw, welcome to the wiki Thrain, and happy editing!--Lensor (talk) 20:49, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- I thought a guild was deleted if it had lack of information in it. Am I wrong or what am I missing? --
riyen ♥ 20:57, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- That is part of the policy, yes. There's a following sentence that allows for the normal deletion process, if desired. It has some hoops to prevent unnecessary deletion. -- FreedomBound

- (Edit conflict) If there is no info at all, a guild page can be tagged with the guild cleanup template. If info is not added within 14 days, the page is then deleted. This is just to prevent cluttering the guild name space with empty pages. This situation is different though, since it is about deletion of a guild page that does meet the minimum content requirements. Such a page can only be deleted at the request from the proven guild leader or all members. Now, it is not super clear how to make this request, but I do not believe a simple delete tag is enough. Especially in this case, since it was not the same editor that made the page that requested the delete. I may be mistaken though.--Lensor (talk) 21:06, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Leaders can change in a guild. Secondly, if this person can access the wiki and knows that the guild was disbanned. I don't see how it couldn't be deleted, but if the guild still exists. I don't think it should be deleted. --

- Guild pages, as every other page on the wiki, can be target of the normal deletion process by tagging a normal deletion tag on it. Given that guild pages are community content however, everybody on the wiki is allowed to object the deletion process (as everywhere else too). So if you see wide objections on the deletion by now already, it's likely that it won't happen. But it's still worth a try to get consensus if you really care. poke | talk 23:03, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- That makes more sense. Thank you for clearing it all up. --

[edit] Historical guilds
Just move them, there is no need to tag them for moving. -- Wyn
talk 10:57, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, didn't think we were supposed to move guild pages outside of the bot. Anyways, I was a bit wondering about those guilds too, so thought it may be good if someone else looked into it. The reason is that User:Malta has been tagging a lot of famous PvP guilds as historical, and I am not too convinced they all are, in fact, historical. For instance RAWR. That guild may have stopped active PvP-ing, but the guild as such still very much exists.--Lensor (talk) 11:06, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
- Please don't tag them as historical if they haven't been moved, and if you don't have personal knowledge of their status, they must meet the set requirements for inactivity, and go through the process. Both Stealing Society and Straight Outta Kamadan both have active forums, so they shouldn't be tagged, or moved. By tagging them for moving, you are moving them back to the start of the inactivity timeline. Also, by changing them to Historical guilds, they are removed from the inactivity timeline completely. So unless you have personal knowledge that the guild has disbanded, you should just leave them alone. -- Wyn

- Dont tell me, tell User:Malta. He is the one who has mass tagged famous PvP guilds as historical. I just put up some move tags on already tagged guilds, for the exact reason that I was not too convinced that all his tags were correct. He has been doing this for some time, and I have told him that if guilds are historical they should be moved (and that they should not be tagged as historical unless he knows that they are), with no response. --Lensor (talk) 11:19, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey Lensor, I had to tag this file you uploaded for deletion as I believe it's a copyvio. If it's not feel free to contest deletion on it's talk page! — Why

[edit] Hi
I needed to add additional tabs to User:Lensor/PageNav for a user's navbar. Take a look at my changes, make any edits accordingly. All I did really was change the width, and add two more tabs. Just a heads up.
Ryuu - Meow~ ♥ 16:50, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up, but I would prefer if you would save your own copy with the added tabs. The reason is that with the different width (14% in stead of 20%) my tabs now do not fill up the entire width of the table, making them look all scrunched up. Thanks for understanding. --Lensor (talk) 09:17, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Leaving
I had no other way to get to you Lensor, and i did not want to leave the guild without saying good bye. Sorry that didn't workout. Char: dont mess w me.
- Sure no problem. Thank you for telling. Good luck with everything :) --Lensor (talk) 18:37, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
