Your research project[edit]

While I appreciate your wish to get community involvement with your project, Guild Wars Wiki is for documenting the game, not for advertising personal projects. Your notice has been moved to your userpage. I might suggest you create a guild page for your guild, where you are welcome to explain the project and request people contact you etc. You might also want to post on some of the fansite forums like GuildWars Guru. If you need assistance setting up your guild page check out HELP:GUILD. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 13:33, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Strengthening social interaction and teamwork through MMO's is a bit strange, because usually they do the direct opposite. VoIP helps with the problem of the lack of emotion in text messages, but anonymity and non-personal representation are also barriers that stand in the way of good communication. I hope you have thought of solutions for these issues.
A more solid roadblock is teamwork. While it may seem a good idea to overcome some of the major challenges this game has through better cooperation and leadership (oh, how many groups have failed because the party did not act as a team), I do not think the game is balanced enough for it. Take the Foundry of Failed Creations for example. Normal (balanced) groups have a really hard time even on NM, and really no chance of completing it on HM because the area punishes the use of tactics and rewards gimmicks. Ravenheart Gloom pretty much removes any profession relying on weapons from play on HM, with no ways to get around it. And do not get me started about PvP.
But still, it is a good thing to use this guild to strengthen communicative and cooperative skills. I would say Guild Wars is not the best platform for it, but I would like to hear your response to the issues I have with it. It would be interesting to read at least.
