Hello, Llandale, and welcome to the Official Guild Wars Wiki! If you need help with anything, don't hesitate to add a message to my talk page. I highly recommend that you check out the "Welcome to the wiki" page - it's extremely useful as an initial guide. Best of luck and happy editing!

Signature[edit]

Hello Llandale, I noticed that you sign your comments with Oye. Since you have not registered Oye for yourself, you are in violation of GWW:SIGN#Appearance and color. Either you have to register the username Oye and make a redirect to User:Llandale, or you have to change the way you sign your comments from Oye to Llandale. -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 03:40, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I made llandale's nickname 'Oye'. Is there a rule that says the nickname has to be exactly the same as the username?
Is there more to this? I sign comments with 4 tildas. Am I OK? Oye 01:12, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

File:AreaOfEffect.png[edit]

Hi. Is there a particular reason you uploaded the above file? Was it simply a question of larger labels for each of the area rings? You didn't link to it anywhere. Which article were you thinking of amending?

I only ask because I saw the file name and thought that I'm sure we have similar files already, and sure enough we do:

  • File:Area of Effect.jpg
  • File:AreaofeffectMedium.png

I think it would be best to agree which file to keep, then delete the other two. -Chieftain Alex 09:52, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

The problem is my clumsiness and ignorance. I was figuring to upload the new Area of Effect diagram to my profile, then go to that discussion page and ask for advise and assistance on getting onto the page. But I didn't see the file after I tried to upload it and then gave up, having no idea if I was successful. I'm not sure what to do nor how to do it.
I argue the new diagram provides better comparison scaling showing the radar, notably including how far away the "In the area" selected target is in the radar (the hard-to-see diamond) and also visually how far away something is at the edge of the aggro bubble. Yes, the labels are larger as well. I see the resulting diagram is not as good as I figured it would be when I started editing it (with program Paint). For me, I can never really tell while playing which foes are "in the area" making skills such as Lightbringer Signet" worthless for me.

Hey Llandale, my apologies for not noticing this conversation before I moved the file to File:User Llandale AreaOfEffect.png. If you were trying to upload a new version of File:Area of Effect.jpg, please make sure that you upload it as a .jpg. Greener (talk) 18:22, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
I've then gone and updated the mainspace file, and renamed it to File:Area of Effect.png + deleted the duplicates. -Chieftain Alex 19:17, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

Regarding recent location additions[edit]

There's a discussion regarding adding more specific NPC locations going on here, and given your recent edits it seems like your opinion on the matter might be a good addition to the discussion, if you're up to it. horrible | contribs 22:05, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
