Reason why they can't nerf UWSC

An average UWSC drops, on average, 4 ectos per person (counting end-chest, drops, ...).
That's an average of 32 ectos per team, per, on average, 20 minutes.
There's also the matter of consets. The player-made conset sells for:

  • 50
  • 3

People farm the mats, which makes the actual conset worth a time value (time spent farming mats), which, while not great, is still existent.

The point is that ANet can't eliminate SF, just impair it (keg farming didn't nerf SF, just the kegs; SF had it's duration shortened, but still maintainable}

Grabbing images off google search is almost always a copyright violation, unless you get really lucky. Even if an image does happen to be GFDL, you need to attribute the source. Given how easy it is to get webspace that won't run out for years, the pure existance of a page is no sign for activity of a guild. I know a lot webpages from guilds that still exists although the guilds are disbanded for years.. Especially if there is a measurement for activity on said pages (here: a post date) it is quite easy to say if they are active or not. poke | talk 21:39, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Let me rephrase: you believe that people should be using their site forums (who are completely unrelated to GWW) on a consistent basis. Otherwise why keep a forum running at all?`Anyway we don't delete Guildpages anymore for quite some time already. Also no Guilds are not _required_ to have a webpage or a forum at all to have a Guildpage. I agree that a forum/site with no updates for over three months is to be judged as inactive. After all, free hosting can make stuff last "forever" on the net. However, in this particular instance, this is not the case. There has been updates on the forum in late June 2009. There is a total of 7 Posts made in Mid June 09 and all but 1 of them was posted by a single Person. Additionally he wasn't at all talking about making a new forum but rather cleaning up the old one and moving stuff to an archive. Now honestly do you think that forum looks cleaned up in any way? Additionally the 3 Posts in the Member Events Section... he offered ppl an Ecto and nothing happened. He even said that noone was on. So honestly would you say such a guild is active? Not to mention those whole 7 Posts where made in like a week from now at which point they would be past 3 months old. I don't count these kind of stuff as an active Forum and thus the Guild in question is inactive and shouldn't have the tag removed. --SilentStorm 13:11, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

You claimed there was only stuff from 2007 and 2008, which just isn't true. I know it is a border case, but still IMO at the right side of the border, since there have in fact been updates within three months. I do not agree with your interpretation that they were just archiving the forum. This is the exact quote: "But we're making changes to the guild and forum! Change we can believe in! Hope for the future!". That to me does not sound like someone about to just do some archiving. Thirdly, the person offering the ecto (probably in attempt to get his members to register in the forum) did not say noone was on, he said almost noone, i.e. there were some people on. I.e. there was activity at least in the end of June, by at least two people, and they had plans. People leave for vacations or whatever, so what is the harm in giving them the benefit of the doubt? Is ANet on your collective backs saying something akin to "delete all inactive guild pages on our (read:GWW) site so it doesn't waste space"? An inactive user page means nothing. It can sit there forever and it will do no harm. Inactive guild pages can have consequences if not weeded out though. Like if a new guild takes the same name as a disbanded guild, coming to GWW to make a page, just to find the name taken. Also since guild pages are there fore the users, users (maybe looking for guilds to join) should be able to browse guild pages with some confidence that they are in fact existing guilds.
