USER TALK GOES UNDER HERE[edit]

I've removed your guild article, as such an article is typically inappropriate on a site of this nature. Because we're so new, we do not have established policy on guild articles; if we decide later on that such articles will be allowed, I'll happily revert! Thanks for understanding. —Tanaric 19:22, 7 February 2007 (PST)

Policy[edit]

I noted you said you aren't sure how to create a policy article. There aren't any set guidelines on how they should look. I would suggest you set out your proposal and then in the body of the article give arguments why. I'd say for your first draft, just work out with the other people you are working with what exactly you want and why. Then just put it out in paragraphs or use bullet points. If you want help with wiki code leave me a note. And it also might help to have drafts to look at to see on the page what works and what doesn't. I'm not sure where you should put this, because there isn't a policy on user pages at the moment. Tanaric may be able to help you with that. - BeXoR 21:24, 7 February 2007 (PST)

Moving articles[edit]

Instead of just deleting one article and re-creating it under a different name, you can just use the move tab at the top of the page. That way any history the article has will be kept.  :) --Rainith 12:29, 12 February 2007 (PST)

Oops i'm going to go ahead and do that. thanks. :) --Narcism 12:32, 12 February 2007 (PST)

Linking to categories[edit]

Just a little tip, since I've had to struggle with that in the past as well. :Category:PvP tactics (extra colon in front of the word "Category") should do the trick, resulting in Category:PvP tactics. The same can be used if you ever want to link to an image. inserts the actual image in the page, while :Image:Nightmare Weapon.jpg correctly gives a link to it instead, Image:Nightmare Weapon.jpg. Cheers! --Dirigible 20:52, 12 February 2007 (PST)

Be sparing with your delete tags[edit]

The delete tags are only to be used for obvious deletion requests such as housekeeping or vandalism. For everything else propose the deletion in the talk page please. For Tactics (PvP), there is an excellent reason for keeping it: targetting users to an amorphous category blob from the main page is less than helpful. This page should be treated as an introduction to items in the category. S 21:07, 12 February 2007 (PST)

Using ban[edit]

Please don't do this. Leave a comment on an admin page and let them take care of it. Please let ban be used only for obvious vandals. S 18:59, 13 February 2007 (PST)

Sorry if I came across as rude, but the use of ban on guildwiki has been the source of endless drama. I think we want to be careful not to repeat that mistake here. In the morning I will make the push for a proper administrators' noticeboard where such cases can be reported. S 19:06, 13 February 2007 (PST)

Colapse[edit]

I figured you should start on your segment so I can get a better idea of it, because my term and yours do have sort of the same meaning. Also since you are/where in a top guild I am sure more people will support your version. I just want to see what happens though.Arcad1a 06:19, 14 February 2007 (PST)

Your version looks good :P Arcad1a 14:31, 14 February 2007 (PST)

Signatures[edit]

Guild Wars Wiki:Sign your comments#Customizing your signature

Essentially, if you want to just change your name or add an icon, you put it in the Nickname form under my preferences. Icons have to be 19x19 and uploaded to the wiki through Special:Upload. If you want a colored name you have to use HTML codes in your nickname and checkmark "Raw signatures".

To sign your name, you either click on Button sig.png in the editing toolbar or type ~~~~ after your comment. - Savio mini.gif Savio 07:07, 16 February 2007 (PST)

Yeh... it's all in the Raw Signature checkbox. Once you click that, anything you put in the Nickname box (formatting and all) will be posted whenever you leave ~~~~. You can do some neat tricks, like coloring your sig text and all... or have an image in the sig that links to your user/talk page. It's pretty neat. Once you get an idea of how you want your sig to look, I'll help you format it up so you can throw it in the Nickname box. -Auron My talk 07:31, 16 February 2007 (PST)
