Talk Like a Pirate Weekend Rocked!

It wasn't just getting grog, but update notes with references to the pirates. Kudos to the team involved, and also cheers for the offbeat humor that the company isn't afraid to put into its game! Next year--assuming we're not abuzz about GW2--how about one or two small pirate quests? ceolstan 01:34, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Missing Wallpapers

Hello Regina. I'm not sure whom to turn so I figured I'd ask you. I visited guildwars.com today to get some wallpapers and I noticed some were missing. For instance I have a nice Nightfall wallpaper with Mad King on it yet it cannot be found anywhere on the official website. Perhaps in moving wallpapers, some were "lost"? Anyway possible to have them restored? Or at least can this official wiki host those wallpapers so we can download them any time without worrying about the official website removing them from public access? Thanks! – User Barinthus Magical Compass.png Barinthus 04:41, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

well there have been lots more but they just remove some i guess:/, in past it was wednesday wallpaper day but they have stopped that too. 145.53.242.142 12:15, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
It's funny that you mentioned this. Two years ago, when I was just a fan, I actually wrote in to the Guild Wars Community Team, asking where the old wallpapers are. At the time, I had gotten a new, bigger, more awesome monitor, and I needed higher resolution wallpapers, but wanted the old ones. I received a reply that just said that they would think about putting them back on the website at some point in the future. I spoke to Emily about this issue a few weeks ago, asking why we decided to remove the old wallpapers, and she didn't really know why. I asked her whether we could put all of them back up, and she said she would. So, yay. But please note, this is a downtime project, and it will take quite a bit of time for Emily to get all of them back up on the site. There is no timeframe for this. Thanks. --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 02:01, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Xfire Chat Guild Wars PAX Prizes

I haven't heard anything about my prize from the PAX xfire chat that you held since I spoke to you last. I am getting concerned since I thought that I would have recieved the prize by now. Has anyone else not recieved their prize? --Empressdonna 18:09, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Everyone should have them by now, even the international recipients. --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 01:57, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Corsair Prisoner vs Sunspear Volunteer

Hi Regina. I have read the full discussion about the Corsair Prisoner and his supposed "torturing" by players in the training in Churrhir Fields. The fact that the name is changed to Sunspear Volunteer is an adjustment giving in to (in my opinion) unjustified rants, but gives opposers of videogame violence less reasons to complain. Still, the NPC has affiliation and although it might not be intended to be torture, according to how some people look against it, torture stays torture. To decrease the chance for any more complaints about the situation, might it not be a good idea to remove any affiliation from the NPC (by renaming him "Target Practice Volunteer", "Training Volunteer" or even just "Volunteer") and/or change the moment he is considered hostile (i.e. being a red dot on the compass) by having him neutral towards players until the training in which he is the target takes place? That would be much like the Master of Damage on the Isle of the Nameless. In my opinion it would remove any possible objection against this particular part of the game, except for the fact that there is violence in the game in the first place (as long as people can understand it's a game wihtout any bonds to reality, there would be no such complaint of that kind). P.S. I have made a post at the said discussion page (the discussion page of the Corsair Prisoner page) in hopes of ending the discussion there with the arguments I presented there. It's somewhat more extended then this post, since I have responded to the statements brought there as well. Good luck on the matter. :) Juriaan Cuthalion 01:07, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Well there are only two people on the Guild Wars Live Team. -- Gordon Ecker 08:01, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
will we at least get a RP for the monthly? on the 13th its highly disappointing that the update is getting pushed back again. 75.165.119.176 08:47, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Can you let us know if the Xunlai reward points will be available on the 13th even if the rest of the build is delayed? I appreciate you keeping us in the loop on the possible delay.

well thats not going to go down well, the update is already a month and a week overdue. I hope by delay you mean simply a few hours, and if not making us wait another week would be very cruel. Cant you just update on the next available day rather than wait for a Thursday. --92.235.60.31 22:12, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Out of curiousity, what information is floating around that gives rise to the assertion that the update is "a month and a week overdue"? The only projected release date I've seen is the 13 of November. -- WarBlade 22:23, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the update, Regina. And, good luck to all involved. --Ravious 00:08, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Bravo!!!

One of my requests fulfilled. That was a very nice way of making GM's & teamwork visible in-game to players!!! I think the three of you (Martin, Regina & Peter) did a great job yesterdy. */bow. --Silverleaf User Silverleaf sig.pngDon't assume, ask! 14:19, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Tim the Charr

Thanks for the pics! I could tell without even reading the credits that Katy Hargrove designed the costumes. Her work is unmistakable! ceolstan 04:21, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes, thank you for posting pics! It's great to see Tim getting some love. I had considered making him a hat, but the timing wasn't working out for getting it to him and I had a suspicion someone there might beat me to it - and what a beating it was! Love it! Katy is awesome, please pass on my appreciation, she did a great job (even the little dragon got a wee little hat, that's extra cute).User Purple llama sig.png purple llama 03:05, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Everyone at the office was so impressed with your work. I think the front door was absolutely the best place for Tim. :-D --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 00:41, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
