Upon reading the information at http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/GWW:USER#User_talk_page_restrictions. I must state that personal attacks, as the ones which i deleted, and profanity, although not strictly adverse to wiki policy is against the nature of the wiki itself. Also as this wiki resides upon the domain of wiki.GUILDWARS.COM, this wiki is still subject to the policies and restrictions enshrined by Anet itself. This includes a ban on profanity and personal attacks, such as the ones which i deleted. Please review the legal standings of this wiki in light of its official standings in relation to anet. You will find that the policies and regulations of the wiki take a minor role when compared to those of anet itself. (P.S. im not sure if ive posted this in the right place on your page and if i havent i apologise) -- Salome

The page which you blanked has NEVER been regarded as a personal attack against any of the sysops I've spoken with about this. -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 19:20, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm assuming that you spoke to all the people involved? Then also continued that investigation to see if any member of the community found people ranking admins based on their own personal opinions to be both offensive and counter productive? -- Salome19:27, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
You make it sound like YOU did do such an investigation, how come I've never had a question from you asking ME if I found it a personal attack? I talked to the majority of sysops on that list, yes. And no, I didn't ask the entire community about this page, since that would be feeding the trolls, like you are doing at the moment. -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 19:41, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
no i dont, you simply misunderstand. The simple reasoning is this. It is not a question of if anyone finds it acceptable, its more a question of if anyone finds it to be offensive and a personal attack on certain members of this community. As myself and a few users who i know personally found it offensive, then the requirements were met. The need to poll the whole community was not needed; however for you to discern that no one was offended by the post and that no one saw it as a personal attack on certain very well respected members of this community, would conversely require you to poll the entire community. you see, my argument was that some people could find it offensive and a personal attack on members, where as your argument is that no one found it offensive. Thus to back these points up i only need to find a few people who found it offensive, whereas you have to poll everyone to find if everyone finds it acceptable. Also i think having this debate on someone elses talk page may be somewhat inappropriate. If you so wish you can move this discussion to my talk page. -- Salome 19:54, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
To be honest, I do not find that page in Raptors space either funny or entertaining and I don't particularly like my name being there. Personally I believe it is detrimental to the community having it there, Sysops volunteer their services and time to enforce the policies of the wiki, and saying they are, and I quote "awful" because they are doing their jobs is not great for morale. I understand that he may think he is being funny, but I think the longer it is up there, the longer the "joke is on us". I have tolerated it thus far because I did not want to feed the trolls, but if other users agree with me, I feel I must break that silence and complain out loud.
To address your point Salome you are incorrect about it only taking one person to find something offensive to have it removed. If that was the case almost everything would need to be removed as I am sure someone somewhere could find anything offensive. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 23:14, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Let us be clear the entire page was designed as an attack on myself, Aiiane and Bex, as we were enforcing policies that he was breaking, and he didn't like being told off. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 23:16, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
A generic message of profanity like that was firstly, trolling, secondly, directed at whoever looks at the page, and thirdly, against the Rules of Conduct for guildwars.com websites. I was disappointed that other sysops and bcrats didn't see this the same way so I stepped away from the discussion. - BeX iawtc 01:38, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Lemming, if it was directed at just you Bex, and Aiiane, then I would have just had you three on there. I don't much like User:MisterPepe/Raptors, you don't see me complaining about it. --- Raptors

(Reset indent) That page is referring to a series of troll acounts, as seen here, here, here, and here... just to name a few examples, so I'm afraid you're going to have to put up with it. Unless, of course, you are the one behind those accounts. --Santax (talk · contribs) 06:45, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Yea me and my buddy were the ones who did all that, and we got banned for it too. I never said I wanted to get rid of the page did I? But if I have to get rid of the admin rank then MisterPepe/Raptors is going to be gone too, because they are both essentially the same. --- Raptors
...let me get this straight, you just admitted to being the account holder of a perma banned account, and you are dodging that ban with this account. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 20:20, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
....no, my friend made the accounts. This is a different account on a different computer made by a different person. --- Raptors / RAAA!

User talk pages

From the user page policy: "Do not put any formatting on your talk page that makes it more difficult for other users to leave you messages (such as borders, background colors, text highlights, font sizes, etc.)." -- Gem (gem / talk) 20:12, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

The way I interpret that, it only applies if it interferes with the actual placement of messages. Leaving messages on this page is no more easy or difficult than on any other page. Readability is another issue, not covered in the policy, personally I find that the current font and colours are extremely user friendly, but should I recieve repeated complaints, I'll remove the formatting. --Santax (talk · contribs) 06:45, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
At the very least, could you make the font used for messages the standard font, please. Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 08:33, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
I agree that the formatting doesn't make posting messages harder and your background color is pretty ok, but just like Aiiane said, the font is very disturbing. -- Gem (gem / talk) 10:07, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Your formatting also does something very strange to the page history, compare differences thing. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 20:32, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Hmm, ok, I'll remove the font. I can't see a difference with the diff function though, this one looks fine to me. --Santax (talk · contribs) 16:05, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
Now I look again I think it was because of some long links like this --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 16:08, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I must be the only person that doesn't have a problem with the font. :P - BeX iawtc 02:01, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Template:Merge

Hi Santax, what did you try here? And why did you revert my edit after that? poke | talk 13:36, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

This edit seems to have broken the template, I tried to fix it without looking at the diff but that didn't work so I reverted it to the last working version. The articles I was looking at were Kormir and Goddess of Truth. After a quick bit of testing in my sandbox, it appears that it only affects mainspace articles. --Santax (talk · contribs) 14:01, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Should be fixed now :) poke | talk 14:28, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey there!

Hey Santax. You sound like quite an awesome guy, very much like myself. I used to use Wikipedia frequently however I quickly became bored. I only started playing Guild Wars yesterday and currently only have a level 2 Ranger. Info here.

  • Level: 2
  • Nationality: Tyrian
  • Height/Sex: Medium Sized Male
  • Armor: Ascalon Armor
  • Date Started: 23/09/07
  • Secondary Professsion: Monk

I'd love to meet up and chat to an experianced gamer like your self in-game so we could discuss some questions I have regarding the game. I'm currently Pre-Searing however I am considering choosing a secondary profession as Monk to begin the Searing.

Cheers for reading, Smashman2004 17:16, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't have a character in pre-Searing at the moment, but once you get past that point I'd be more than happy to meet up with you in-game, and answer any questions at all that you have. Remember to enjoy Ascalon as much as possible before you leave, you won't have a chance to go back. I certainly regret not exploring a bit more the first time I played through the area. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing you :) --Santax (talk · contribs) 19:50, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Alright Santax

Hey Santax! I was just wondering can I use Smashman Lossenhelin in Nightfall and Factions if I buy them? Cheers, Smashman

Yes, you can. After playing to a certain point in the storyline you canswithc your character to othe rcampaigns and return back when you want to. -- Gem (gem / talk) 07:35, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
