Welcome to the wiki[edit]

Hello and welcome to the wiki. I see you are currently working on your user page which is cool, but if you could kindly tick the "this is a minor edit" box when doing so, that would be appreciated as it prevents your changes from spamming the recent edits page. Anyway warmest welcomes to the wiki and I hope you enjoy your time here. -- Salome User salome sig.png 09:00, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

also the categories you are placing yourself in shouldn't be there. Those are for documenting the game itself not for user fiction. Thus you are currently appearing in the town categories which shouldn't be the case. If you could remove them that would be much appreciated. :) -- Salome User salome sig.png 09:02, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh also user talk can not be deleted. You can archive it, but you can't delete it. (well only in a very small amount of cases can it be deleted, like if it breaches NPA and the like, but wiki advice doesn't fall under that). Also I noticed your changes to Emily's pages. You have to be careful about stuff like that as many people do not like you changing their User Pages and it's normally accepted the only page on someones User space you have free reign to edit on is their "Talk" pages. Not moaning at you here, just trying to be helpful as I know you're new to the wiki. :) -- Salome User salome sig.png 09:22, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

didn't mean to change her page, I changed it back right after.

No worries mate. We all do things accidentally on here. Thought you were testing something out on her page that's all. oh also you can indent your comments using ":" and you can sign your comments using 4 tidles such as this ~~~~ -- Salome User salome sig.png 09:34, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Also if you need any help with user page, just ask. Many people on here will be happy to assist you. :) -- Salome User salome sig.png 09:35, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
I'd make my own page but I'm not exactly the HTML / Blogging / Editing type so until I teach myself all of this I'll most likely have a blank / horrible page like I currently have :P. I was also on emily's page trying to steal a box :P Baddock Warrior-icon.png
LOL, fair enough matey. Well you'll find wiki code fairly easy to get your head round. If I can, then anyone can. The preview button will also help you alot as its what helped me learn alot of the wiki coding, that and looking at other peoples pages and seeing what they did and how it looked on their pages. You'll get it in no time though, so dont worry about it. :) -- Salome User salome sig.png 09:43, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Image naming[edit]

Heya SirBaddock! The image you just uploaded Sig.jpg doesn't meet naming requirements and will be deleted. If it is for your signature, it should be named User SirBaddock sig icon.jpg. --Wyn's Talk page Wynthyst 00:08, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I noticed that and Reuploaded it after with the proper tags, etc. Sorry about the upload :) User SirBaddock Sig.jpg Baddock

Just a note...[edit]

You might want to be careful when adding comments to talk pages - when you added these comments, you'll notice you also (I'm assuming accidentally) removed over 25kb of comments other people had put on the page. I'm sure it was just a mistake, but perhaps something to check before submitting (you can use the "Show changes" button below the edit box to verify that the only thing you're changing is what you meant to add). Cheers, Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 00:25, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

If I deleted those I did not mean to, I'm sorry if I've caused any trouble for you or anyone else. I'd imagine that the reason they where removed was the warning that I got stating that the page was over 25KB and that I should split it into multiple parts User SirBaddock Sig.jpg Baddock 00:33, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Baddock

Signature image[edit]

Ok.. now I'm going to be just a pain in the butt, but our signature policy requires signature images to be no larger than 19px X 19 px. Having yours set to 25px breaks the text lines. --Wyn's Talk page Wynthyst 00:55, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Image:BlackTideDenEnd74.jpg[edit]

are you going to use this image for a bug report? As otherwise you'd have to reupload it with proper naming in your userspace (see GWW:IMAGE). The naming is follows: [[Image:User <User name> <Image name wanted>.<image type>]] (In this case then something like Image:User SirBaddock BlackTideDenEnd74.jpg.)
But in any case, you can also use your user images for bug reports, so you don't need to be afraid of uploading images in your usespace. ;) —ZerphatalkThe Improver 22:47, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

So many rules :P, I guess I'll have to start uploading images to my userspace and even start making a list of bug's I've found.Sir Baddock 23:11, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Guild page naming[edit]

Heya, just to let you know Guild:BoDC has been moved to Guild:Bookahs Of Devastating Carnage for proper page naming as per our guild page policy. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 12:28, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Wyn Thyst, I noticed that but didn't know who submitted it for speedy deletion, sorry about the mixup with the naming. User SirBaddock Sig.jpg Baddock
No worries :D I also added the {{guild}} tag that is required for all guild pages. You may want to read the guild page policy over. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 12:31, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Why all the excess whitespace? --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 12:34, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Spacing, I can't figure out how to make the line not intercept / overlap the guild information box. User SirBaddock Sig.jpg Baddock
The infobox floats, adding all the white space is just going to make the page look bad. The sections and text will adjust around the infobox automatically. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 12:36, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Thats what I thought but after adjusting the white space so that it didn't exist the line goes through the infobox.

User SirBaddock BoDCError.JPG

I don't see it on my browser.... --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 13:17, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm using Firefox 3.XX (Beta, etc, etc), but if it works for you it's all good. Now I just need some of my Guild Members to edit it to there liking!

User page table[edit]

Hi there, I see you're using my table for your userpage - I'm fine with that, but I wanted to ask if you could make your own copy of User:Brains12/Table instead of using it directly. Any change I make to that table would affect your userpage too, and I'm assuming you don't want that. Also, it would allow you to customise your own table to your liking so you would be able to choose the colours and whatnot.

To do so, simply copy the code at User:Brains12/Table into a page in your own userspace (for example, to User:SirBaddock/Table) and make sure you change your main userpage to reflect that. Just ask if you need any help. Thanks. --User Brains12 circle sig.png Brains12 \ talk 21:17, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Done, have been busy the last few days, didn't get around to moving it over yet. Baddock User SirBaddock Sig.jpg

Revert war[edit]

I understand your desire to revert vandalism on your page, however, we have a policy here GWW:1RR that is in place to stop revert wars. If it happens again, you can revert ONCE. Then place a notice on Guild Wars Wiki:Admin noticeboard (handy link in the Support box on the left of every wiki page) and allow an admin to handle the situation. There are plenty of people watching RC to make sure that no vandalism stays for more than a minute or two. Another revert war will result in the vandal being banned for vandalism, and you being banned for violating GWW:1RR. There can't be a revert war if there are no reverts. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 04:39, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism is an exception to the one-revert rule, so you wouldn't get banned for that. However, I do agree one should wait for an admin to block the vandal instead of constantly reverting. It's more effective, and makes the vandal's objectives less successful. --User Brains12 circle sig.png Brains12 \ talk 14:34, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Block[edit]

Mate you went offline in game before i could answer you, basically not sure whats up as it seems you are unblocked. I'm gonna see what else could be causing it. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 04:19, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Accomplishments[edit]

The comments you have on your warriors page about each campaign and the elite areas is pretty cool. Well done.Talk page Drogo Boffin 18:20, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, they're not done by me it's part of the Template. By the way I see you had an interesting chat with my friend on Guild Wars, he doesn't like to be bugged LoL. Baddock User SirBaddock Sig.jpg 19:35, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
I was trying to have a normal convo. Ive never had any problems, it cought me off guard.Talk page Drogo Boffin 19:39, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Guild page[edit]

Please do not blank your guild page. If the guild has disbanded, it should be moved into historical status. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 06:07, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Hasn't disbanded, just doing something to it, it'll be back shortly. You can revert it if you want. Baddock User SirBaddock Sig.jpg 06:24, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

My page[edit]

I'm sorry you feel I was being rude. I was simply telling you that my userpage does not look like the screenshot you sent me to anyone but you, so that tells me it's an issue with how your browser is reading it, not with the page, but I did add the additional coding so you would see it properly. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 07:08, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

I have the answer as to why you were seeing my userpage differently. The table background default is a setting in the global css file that is attached to each wiki skin. You are not using the monobook skin when you view the wiki, I'm not sure what skin you are using, but it would seem that the css file for that skin does not set the background default color to white. Thus you were seeing those tables as transparent making my page appear black. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 14:58, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
I'm using "Modern" under "My Preferences-->Skins", I'm glad you found the reason as to why that was happening.Baddock User SirBaddock Sig.jpg 22:30, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
