Welcome[edit]

Hello, Thor79, and welcome to the Official Guild Wars Wiki! If you need help with anything, don't hesitate to add a message to my talk page. I highly recommend that you check out the "Welcome to the wiki" page - it's extremely useful as an initial guide. Best of luck and happy editing!--§ Eloc § 22:24, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Missing Mini[edit]

I'm missing the Gray Giant from my page solely because I don't have one... If I added the others I don't have, I'd have to add in all the others too and I'm too lazy atm for that ^_^ -elviondale (tahlk) 00:18, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Hmm...ok...just noticed you were missing a couple others and you had marked them minis you need. Guess that was only for series 1 or 2 minis...not special minis.--Thor79User-thor79.pngTalk 00:21, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
yep! -elviondale (tahlk) 01:21, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Pet Evolution[edit]

Hi Thor, I read you on the Animal Companion page regarding your pet being stuck at "aggressive". This is not a bug, this can happen. Sometimes pet do not evolve or become elder. The reason people claim for this is that your damage output was not enough to warrant one more step of evolution on the dire path. It is not a "bug", this is how it has always been. I fear you have to ditch your pet for a new one. I fear we all have to ditch our preview GWEN pets, not sure if the upcoing fixes to GWEN pet evolution are retroactive, I would not count on it! I suggest death-levelling, as described on the GuildWiki, to get a Dire Pet. --Longasc 13:46, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Yeah I've done the death leveling...you'll see some of my posts about evolving to dire on GuildWiki (unless they've archived them)...I just had the Lion on my Ranger who was my first character to be taken into GW:EN and when I saw pets had to be evolved to be added to the monument I decided to level him up. He doesn't mean much to me so I probably will drop him for another and death level properly (I've done it before). I was just trying to knock out two birds with one stone...he went from level 11 to 19 while I was gaining ranks in the Norn title track. So it seemed to be an efficient way to level him...but with no evolution it seems rather pointless to level him that way.--Thor79User-thor79.pngTalk 20:38, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Gaile's Page[edit]

Raptors page[edit]

Do not engage in a revert war, it's not productive in any way. - anja talk 22:28, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Then can the admins make it clear that the language included on his userpage is against the current User Page Policy? If I had any power the user and the userpage would no longer exist. He and others like him are clearly trying to start crap. Nip it in the butt if you have the power otherwise it will spread.--Thor79User-thor79.pngTalk 22:40, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
As the discussion is ongoing, I will not do anything to his page. I simply disagree that it's against the current policy, my interpretation of it differs from your. But that is not the question here. Revert wars brings nothing good to this discussion, and appropriate actions will be taken as soon as the matter is solved. - anja talk 22:40, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Congratulations, you just broke RV1 =) Readem Hate Mail Goes Here 22:42, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

As we don't have a revert policy, there's nothing to break here. - anja talk 22:43, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah perhaps you should read up on the policies...clearly you and your cohorts don't know what they are.(in no way talking to Anja)--Thor79User-thor79.pngTalk 22:53, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Cohorts? Where? I have never met them. Oh, and I merely thought this being a wiki, that such an important policy would exist. I thought wrong. Readem Hate Mail Goes Here 23:02, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
There are proposals for a policy on reverting, however a couple of ideas are being tossed about, and neither is a finalised policy at the moment. As for bad language, this has been discussed, I agree it is inappropriate, however it was concluded that unless the language is directed it is not directly a personal attack, and simply swearing was not disallowed. Raptor's has taken this to heart in posting swear words on his user page to make a point, however immature behaviour is not a policy violation either. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 23:57, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

I'm not breaking any policies with what I'm doing. I do not know what you have against me, but I certainly contribute positively in the namespace, saying that I don't is completely ignorant on your part. Also, your PERMA-BAN RAPTORS!!!111-one!! is completely stupid and I have already been banned for things breaking the policy. If they make a policy disallowing swear words I will certainly remove them. As for now, I am breaking no rules. --- Warrior Raptors

Yeah a lot of people keep saying what you have there isn't against the policy....I believe it is since they are generally offensive words (it says nothing about them having to be directed at anyone). I think the bigger issue is the fact that you can't say the same thing in the middle of Lion's Arch over and over and not expect to get away suspension/ban free...as long as someone reports it you're likely to get suspended/banned for saying exactly that even if it's not directed at anyone. Well guess what...user pages fall under the policies of the game's terms and conditions...so yes...you are doing something that is against the rules...turns out the admins don't want to enforce that rule though. Lucky You. If you've already been banned for being disruptive and breaking policy then shouldn't we reach a point where the admins just say "enough is enough" and ban you permanently? I think we've reached that point...especially after this crap you've pulled recently.--Thor79User-thor79.pngTalk 03:29, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
We might as well perma pan you too with that reasoning. --- Raptors
Oh really...remind me...what policies have I broken or been banned for? Further more have I become a known troller of the wiki like you have? I mean you have an entire WikiSpecies named after you.--Thor79User-thor79.pngTalk 03:43, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Thor isn't an asshat. The logic we're using bans only asshats. -Auron 03:47, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Then you should have been banned a LONG time ago Auron. Cause I heard they ban douches and asshats. --- Raptors
Whoa dude... wayy NPA. I remember reading in your talk page you're a Christian? Is this how they all are? -elviondale (tahlk) 04:04, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Obviously you've never been to a southern baptist church :P And I'm not the only one here who can be considered breaking npa. --- Raptors
About NPA, I don't disagree, but thats the most blatant I've seen in a while. @church, I really don't think denomination matters when the action goes against black & white Christian morality. Pr.8:13 perhaps. -elviondale (tahlk) 04:28, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Calm down, all of you, or you will get your time out. - anja talk 08:39, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Your Bow[edit]

Hey matey,

it really is a great wee design mate, but i have to be honest i didnt know that was flame. Your idea is cool and i agree with you, a flame effect would be fab! However your design to my eye looked like a wooden base/handle with some sort of vine making up the other side intertwined with the bow itself. It honestly doesnt look like flame. Perhaps a note of some sort on the entry would have been helpful as personally i think its a great drawing but honestly it doesnt look like a flame animation. -- Salome 20:22, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Just a heads up[edit]

Hey- I don't know if you've heard or not, but just so you're in the loop- Guild_Wars_Wiki_talk:User_page -elviondale (tahlk) 14:22, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

User Image Tags[edit]

Just a heads up, some of your images in your user space are tagged as screen shots like Image:User Thor79 Freya Rae.jpg they should be tagged like Image:User Thor79 Idunna Rae.jpg no big deal rly just thought id let ya know Fall 05:27, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

That was an issue I bought up on one of the policy talk pages, I can't remember which. When I did I think it was determined that either way would be fine. They are User images but they are also screenshots (although heavily edited screenshots). Also there was a specific thing in the User image policy that the two tags should not be used at the same time. I was in the middle of uploading them and tagging them when I made the change and I just haven't gone back to correct them all. I intend to have them tagged as user images though the way they are marked now is technically correct as well. I'll get around to it one of these days.--Thor79User-thor79.pngTalk 05:31, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Do you possibly remember the link to the discussion? I would be very interested in reading it. Fall 05:49, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Here it is: Guild_Wars_Wiki_talk:Image_use#Heavily_Edited_Screenshots. Guess I forgot...the two tags are separate. User Image identifies it as being used in the user namespace. Screenshot identifies it as having the copyright appropriate to all screenshots. Both should be used in this case...I forgot about that. I'll be editing the images accordingly.--Thor79User-thor79.pngTalk 05:54, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Your Character Page Images[edit]

Hey, I was wondering how did you make your pictures in a such manner that background is blurred with your characters crispy. I assume you cropped characters out then superimposed them on blurred versions of original background? In any case, they looks great! – User Barinthus Magical Compass.png Barinthus 15:37, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for the late response...been off playing some other games. More simple than that really. You need an image editor capable of dealing with layers, applying blur, and erasing pixels from individual layers. I used photoshop. Basically you duplicate your image so that you have two layers. Blur the top layer however you want. You then use your eraser tool to erase the blur from the top layer to reveal the bottom non-blurred layer. Pretty simple but very nice looking imo. Can't remember where I got the technique from (sorry to whomever it was) but someone else came up with it.--Thor79User-thor79.pngTalk 08:42, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
