Today in Factions pvp...[edit]

My ally decided to play alliance battles on both sides to move the line in Luxon favor. Anet tipped their hand finally, it seems they want us to do this even though it might be borderline match manipulation.Yumiko ^,~ 19:03, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Archive?[edit]

Any way I can clean this up and archive this? If so, how? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Yumiko Ishida (talk) at 19:18, February 4, 2012 (UTC).

To archive a talk page, simply create the page (User talk:Yumiko Ishida/Archive for instance) and copy/paste any discussions you want archived onto that page. It might also be useful to add an archive box at the top of your page (which you can customize):
{|cellpadding="10px" valign="top" style=" width:100%; background:White; border: 1px solid Black; border-top:none; border-right: 2px solid Black"
| {{archive-box
 |title=none
 |header=Archive
 |header-color=LightGray
 |background-color=White
 |border-color=Black
 |
* [[/Archive]]
}}

As well an "archive tag" to the top of the archive page:

{{Archived|User talk:Yumiko Ishida}}

Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else. ~FarloUser Farlo Triad.pngTalk 04:36, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Xun Rao's Justice[edit]

I currently have one of these and on the item's talk page you mentioned liking the item. Do you want to purchase it? My info is on my userpage. Mango 03:09, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

Oh actually it isn't. IGN = Duke Mango Of Here. Mango 03:10, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
My guild leader was nice enough to hand me his. Thanks for caring. I appreciate it ^.^ !Yumiko ^,~ 19:09, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

I need help in a wiki of mine.[edit]

I want to get a page in my own wiki to look like the category listing pages for a clean look. How do you make one of these in another wiki format such as wikispaces? I can either learn how to do it from someone here, or I can invite someone to set up pages for me.Yumiko ^,~ 22:39, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

I tried to edit a category to see what it looks like in wiki code, but all I get is [[category: blahblahblah]].Yumiko ^,~ 00:47, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

A category article is a page that automatically displays articles in a specific category; there's nothing to edit.
You can create a similar effect using DPL queries (if your wiki's host supports it). Your Feedback home page does something like this by default. Mine does something a bit more complex. Let me know if you need help translating it to your wiki (keeping in mind that not all wikis support stuff like this). You might want to try creating a sandbox page and experimenting on this wiki before attempting the same thing on a wiki less familiar to you (or the people who might be assisting you).
There are resources for DPL queries linked from my home page; those are worth checking out. About half my sandboxes (also linked from the home page) include other types of DPL queries, if you want some other examples. Good luck. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:23, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
I may just need to get a team that knows how to use that type of wiki exclusively. I can't figure out how to use these DPLs. If you want to take a look around my wiki you can here: http://theofficialesgardumwiki.wikispaces.com/Esgardum+Wiki+Home
Maybe you could create a sandbox page with a mock-up of what you would like to see.
In the meantime, if you want e.g. Earth and Fire to belong to category: elements, then (1) add that to each page (as if adding a link) and (2) create the article, Category:Elements; any article with the category added (directly or via an infobox) will automatically show up on that page.
It's possible that wikispaces doesn't use categories like this wiki does. It might use tags, keywords, or a variety of other other types of classification systems that work similarly. I don't have editing rights for Esgardum Wiki so I'm not able to see which options you have, but iirc, wikispaces makes it easy to categorize/tag. (I don't remember if the online help is any good.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:17, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
I can add you or send an invite if you want. I have it as read only and only editable by people I can trust for the time being, and not editable by outsiders because it's only info that is kept by me that's added atm and none of the books are released yet, so its more like our GW2W atm, just info that is not too spoiler filled or only info we actually know or info I provide. I hope that was clear enough about the state of it. All I need is an email or someone that joined the site to make a request to be added.Yumiko ^,~ 02:09, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
I think you should keep edits off limits to the general public (to prevent robospam if nothing else), but I'm not really ready to create yet another account for yet another site at this point. I'm happy to offer advice or spot check stuff or point to online resources. You can also email me through the wiki, if you want to show me what you're trying in the background.
However, I think you might find it easier to work on developing the tools you want here (in your sandbox) and then migrating them to the equivalent code in wikispaces. (1) You can get lots of help here and (2) it's generally easier to start learning on a well-established wiki than when starting from scratch. Good luck. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:48, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Reporting bots[edit]

I have been searching for and reporting bots in JQ. As you might know, some bots have names of pure gibberish of various letters (Ex: Asgdashdgh Abhdahs) which is very common. Yet I noticed even legit players may have names of gibberish as that they are damn lazy! Am I at risk being accused of report abuse because of this? As far as we know this is one of the only ways for us to ID and report bots at this time and help our fellow staff.Yumiko ^,~ 02:04, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

The risk is non null, but i doubt you will be baned for reporting a false positive since they got a procedure that include various checks anyway, intentionally reporting someone you dont like might be another story though...

The gm visited us in JQ lobby last night and they just gave us free reign (with reason) pretty much.24.160.87.94 04:08, 16 April 2012 (UTC)-Yumiko.
I remembered what gaile once said, that's how i knew you werent exposed to any serious threat by reportingeach and every suspicious bot. Yseron - 90.15.50.125 04:23, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Hmm yes, but was a npc planned at one time to have that name like in cantha where skills are named after old canthan heroes? Yumiko ^,~ 20:49, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Seem the May 11th update was due to dupers....[edit]
