Verata is the first Necromancer Profession Trainer in Pre-Searing. After the Searing, he went further in his research on undead minions, but his eager desire of knowledge made him use forbidden practices to research faster. That turned him into an outcast of his necromantic order. He then formed his own guild, called the Cult of Verata.

[edit] Notes
- In Kessex Peak, he'll be surrounded by many groups of his follower (members and officers of the Cult of Verata); carefully pulling is a must to prevent being overwhelmed.
- The Armor he is wearing in Post-searing is Necromancer Krytan armor, dyed orange.
- He will not appear while the quest "The Villainy of Galrath" is active.
[edit] Trivia
- Verata may be a reference to the old quote "Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!", that widely appears in movies, games and other media since its first appearance in The Day the Earth Stood Still.
- Like Jarrel the Tamer and Van the Warrior, Verata has a completely different appearance after the searing.
- This NPC has four Skills named after him, Verata's Aura, Verata's Gaze, Verata's Sacrifice and Verata's Promise, although Verata's Promise was removed before the final release of Nightfall. This amount of skills is matched only by Teinai.
