The following upgrade components can be used to modify various weapons.

  1. Only for the purposes of a skill's green numbers, the inherent effects of primary attributes are not affected.
  2. Available for all Monk and Ritualist attributes, as well as all Necromancer, Mesmer and Elementalist attributes except for Soul Reaping, Fast Casting and Energy Storage.
  3. Available for Charr, Demons, Dragons, Dwarves, Giants, Ogres, Plants, Skeletons, Tengu, Trolls and Undead (the same affiliations and creature types as of slaying). The Ascalon Aegis shield (Prophecies) and focus items and shields from Jonathan Blunt (Eye of the North) come with Armor +10 (vs. Charr). Four green shields Aegis of Terror, Aegis of Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh, Stygian Defender and Stygian Aegis with inherent Armor +10 (vs. Demons) bonus are available as drop in Nightfall.

Suffix bonuses[edit]

Suffix bonuses are available through upgrades for martial weapons and staves. Suffix bonuses are available as inherent bonuses on Prophecies and Factions wands, shields and focus items, and through upgrades for Nightfall and PvP wands, shields and focus items. Suffix bonuses are also available as inherent bonuses on unique items.

    • Versions for martial weapons always correspond to the weapon's own attribute (e.g. Axe Haft of Axe Mastery).
    • Inherent versions for shields have been observed with caster attributes (e.g. a Tactics shield with a chance to boost Illusion Magic).
    • Staves have been observed with this suffix for all spellcaster attributes except for Fast Casting, Energy Storage, and Spawning Power.

  3. Available only as inherent bonus from the Prophecies collectors Nicanor Gannel and Ouran Odwin and as reward for quest White Mantle Wrath: Demagogue's Vanguard.
