ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Cloth, Hide, and Iron armor sets

I removed the part where it says "keeps armor balanced" If you can expand on how your system will still be kept balanced, then outline it in more detail in your suggestions page (Terra Xin 05:23, 24 June 2008 (UTC)).

Well it is balanced. What I meant was that, at the cost of movement speed and energy regen, you could have more armor, and vice versa. Also, I was under the impression that the suggestion page itself was not supposed to be edited, that all proposed edits went on the talk page. Whoever edited the article page did so in a grammatically incorrect form (I believe that for every class (caster, ranged and Melee), gain the option to create...) where is should be "...that every class should gain the option..." or "for every class, the option to create...". But that's just me. Also, this is merely a suggestion. Like I said, you gain something but lose something else, which prevents an armor set from creating an overpowered class. This system is already under use, somewhat, with Warriors and Paragons only having 2 pips (steel armor), rangers having 3 (leather) and all other classes, which bear cloth armor, have 4 pips of regen. The armor level is also consistenr, as W and P have 80 armor, ranger have 70, and all others have 60 (with the exception of assassins and dervishes whom have 70 armor). I hope I've been able to clarify my idea some more, but again as far as I was concerned this was just a SUGGESTIONS page, and suggestions are merely that! If the dev team decided to act on a suggestion, they would have to create the parameters to keep such suggestion balanced themselves, but I've used enough data to support my theory, which would basically upgrade an existing component and provide for some interesting strategic combinations. For example an agile melee character, or a heavy armored caster. --ChristopherRodrigues 07:12, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
I was the one who made the edit. The suggestions page should only include suggestions. To provide ease of reading, it should be void of any personal opinion (which is what discussion pages are for), background information (which is why we have a wiki) and repetative information on the same page. Anything left is what you are aiming to suggest. I'm only trying to help you with your suggestion, if you feel that I have made a mistake, then you can revert my edits by going to the history tab, clicking on your version of the edit (cur) and then look for the undo link on that page. Just remember to keep those three guidelines in mind before reverting. (Terra Xin 08:01, 24 June 2008 (UTC))
Forgot to add. When you ask about balance, I removed it because you also added "players could find a way to abuse the system". If you are unsure of whether it is balanced or whether it will be exploited, then leave it for the developers to decide instead. (Terra Xin 08:15, 24 June 2008 (UTC))

When taking away the movement speed part (which would be the worst effect probably) you'd simply end up with interchanging armorsets between professions, correct? May be easier to merge with that article and simply give a penalty when taking an armor that is not your own type. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:217.122.225.60 (talk).
