Keeping the action moving
In Guild Wars the game is a lot of running and a lot of time wasted in between action. To avoid this in Guild Wars 2 I suggest speeding up player movement outside of combat and lore situations. Meaning if your character is just exploring they should be able to move faster.
Using the way Guild Wars plays as an example, if your character were running and you aren't within spirit range of an enemy or not in a situation where npc conversation/interaction is occuring your move speed steadily increases while you run. After over the course of 2 seconds it moves from normal to 150%. Then when 2 more seconds go by it ups from that +50% to +100%. I don't think there's reason to go much faster than that... maybe +125% for a total of 225% move speed at most.
If you are within spirit range of enemies the the fastest you should be able to move is +50%. While just outside of the range of an enemy maybe you move only 25% faster.
The point is to reduce the amount of time spent waiting in the game. Running isn't waiting, but you are waiting to reach the next point, destination, node, or w/e. I'm not sure exactly how exploring will work in GW2, but if something like that could be implemented to make moving around the world quicker it would sure save a lot of time wasted. If it was implemented in the 1st GW I'd probably have 15% less hours played, and I've played a lot of hours. Can't get time back, but something like this would be good for everyone in the next game.
