Good lord man...You hit up every single possible skill/mechanic...Some things are blantantly imbalanced but others can just be left alone. The only thing I see that needs immediate fixing are the R/A, Mind Blast Eles, and Hexway teams *partially, they are already down a good bit and people only lose to them if they are bad* Weapon spells already exist, and retooling them all *while although would be nice* would most likely take too much time. As well as several of the other fixes you have suggested. I think most/all of them should be implemented...but they kinda are already here now. Adapt and deal with it. Who knows how much time all those fixes would take...--Malchior Devenholm 21:31, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

That's the exact attitude Anet has taken, and that's why we're left with a crap pvp game. Hexway is still very potent, and along with all of the other things listed, they all need fixing. -- Tha Reckoning User Tha Reckoning Sig.png 21:35, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Counter[edit]

  • /Agree with you on the assassin/palm strike thing. Check my options out.
  • AoS. The new one is lolworthy. It'd be more lolworthy if I actually brought my derv into PvP...
  • Non elite Hex removal- Meh, maybe. But hexes/pvp have been around for a long time. I haven't heard a whole lot of complaints about them. Healing against them works just fine. I can never seem to kill any good player with a necro Curses build. Oh well.
  • Para Stacking- Idk. We need to find a way to avoid this, w/o making a solo para bad.
  • Searing Flames- To each his own lol. It's an awesome elite. I use it occasionally. Maybe if we increased the recharge to 5 seconds.
  • Wail of Doom- I actually havent gotten this yet. But it seems lolworthy. Maybe increase recharge to 30seconds?
  • Blackout- I dont think it should be a touch spell. end of story.
  • VoR- "Spiteful Spirit costs more energy, for 1/3 of the damage of VoR, and SS is balanced." Maybe we should buff SS. lol. Revert damage. Change dmg to 'per attack skill ' basis.
  • Backbreaker- Hammer skill = no strength scaling. Maybe energy loss? or we could just do nothing.
  • Wounding Strike- This is fine the way it is.
  • Mind Blast- Should give energy back && should be moved to energy storage instead of fire.
  • Weapon spells- They're either over powered or underpowered.
  • "Scythes need to autoattack for less." - Now your asking for a HUGE change. And no. They have the largest range for a reason.
  • "Minions and spirits should cost players significantly in PvP. Soul Reaping shouldn't return energy from minions or spirits." No. This mechanic is fine. Necromancers are supposed to be like this. thats why they have 60 armor and very little healing.
  • Aura of the Lich- I actually like both versions. They should bring back the old one as a new elite.
  • Fastcasting- Nah. I think thats fine. You can use E/mo to have massive nrg for healing. N/mo to have vast nrg supply as ppl die. R/N for those dumb ass Touch Rangers. Lots of these. No change should be made w/o changing it for all professions.
  • Shadow steps- HELL NO. Sorry. just no. Shadow steps rock. They can be used by any profession. Not just assassins and they are a staple of the assassin. Besides, every melee class has a... how do you say it... Every melee class compensates for its close range attack style. Warriors have super amounts of armor. Dervishes have lots of heals and enchantments. Assassins have fast attacks and shadow steps.
Thank you DarkMugen 00:00, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Hexes have always been a problem, where have you been pvping? Blackout is touch range because it is balanced, no profession should have ranged guaranteed shutdown like wail. VoR is overpowered, SS is balanced, if you buff SS you make more power creep. Backbreaker is abused by sins, so it should be scaled to str. Wounding Strike is very broken, it costs no energy, has no recharge, has no downside, and has a cover cond, and is AoE. Moving Mind Blast to energy storage would do absolutely nothing. Weapon Spells are broken because they can't be inted and they can't be removed. Also, they cost 5 energy, recharge in no time, and they prot, deal damage, and heal. No other combination of 3 skills can do anything near that. Scythes are broken because they hit for AoE and higher damage than axes. Minions and spirits shouldn't be in pvp. It's pvp, not pve. Aura of the Lich is stupid because you make minions out of nothing. Shadow steps are mechanically broken because your opponent has no warning, and therefore you are at an unfair advantage. -- Tha Reckoning User Tha Reckoning Sig.png 00:23, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
2handed slow weapons are SUPPOSE to hit for harder then 1 handed fast weapons, also the problem isnt with scythe auto attack damage but with how critical's work... also rodgorts has 4x the recharge of searing flames, not 8... if you want to be REALLY technically factoring in cast times as well making it "refire rate" then rodgort becomes 10seconds and searing flames makes it 3seconds making it closer to 3x... the problem with palm strike is that trampling ox needs to do 1...9...11 damage and have 12 secodns recharge Talamare 02:58, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Wow, I really did put 8x the recharge. Owell, typo. It's 4x, and the point is still the same. Scythes are 2 handed, but they hardly hit any slower than axes. Also, TO itself is not broken, it's the fact that you can skip straight to it. You're looking at things backward. -- Tha Reckoning User Tha Reckoning Sig.png 03:08, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Let me say where you went wrong (btw, I tl;dr'd everything that came after your dots):

  • Curses hexes are for pressure. But they aren't normal pressure. They're a no-drawback-usually-AoE-mass-pressure. They make your brain explode from inside out. So it doesn't matter if you didn't kill with them: hexes in general are awesome ideas, being put out badly.
  • Para Stacking is amazingly gay because Motivation Paragons specify in party wide healing, with the ability to do pressure on the side. Combine that with melee professions, and you can make anything explode without much of a worry. Since this is PvP, I won't go into Imbagons, but lone Paragons in lower-than-HA PvP are bad from the simple fact of Leadership.
  • Searing Flames is one of THE most OP skills when stacked. 2 SF can make you lolexplode with nearing no problem. On your own it's still imbalanced, as Conjure Phanatasm on everyone and then Rodgort's Invocation for like 1/7 the cost isn't balanced.
  • You just killed me on the inside. If Blackout didn't have a touch range, I would make A.net explode. The touch range is a very important balance aspect. Without it, PvP GW would be so broken, that I can't even find words to describe it.
  • VoR-Let me fucking tell you a basic of balance: If something is balanced and yet overshadowed by an OP skill, you do not buff the balanced skill. You kill the OP one. Otherwise, you got morons frolicking around you. OFUCKINGSHITTOOLATE.
  • It happened before that skills scaled with the primary attribute. It's a little thing we call Balance. BB is balanced on Warriors, but OP on assassins.
  • Wounding Strike-You made me cry. Re-read Wounding Strike and come again.
  • Didn't you notice why Mind Blast is OP? Yeah, it's the nice option of spamming Glowing Gaze, yet unconditional and much better. With it, spamming Meteor and Rodgort's Invocation looks laughable. The only thing of balance I can see of it is either a rework, or move it to Water Magic.
  • About the Weapon Spells... nothing should give unremovable buffs. Especialy if that buff can be used as both a Protection spell, a healing spell and a damage spell as one. So, there are Weapon spells that are up because they just do 1 useless thing and then fade away, but other ones can make a giant change.
  • Scythes shouldn't hit THIS hard. I stacked Body Blow with Conjure Frost, "I Am The Strongest!", and only on Frenzy I could hit for more than ~80 damage. And yet, with only Conjure and one skill, a balanced skill, I was able to do 130 damage. This isn't balanced. And no, auto-attacking for 70 damage isn't balanced, too.
  • NOTHING SHOULD GIVE YOU INFINITE ENERGY. There is Energy-Management, and there is infinite Energy. This is balantly wrong, especialy if you can raise up an army of +13 Energy and cause enormous pressure and spike ability.
  • Do you fucking realize why offensive shadow steps are op? Yeah, because they ignore every bit of positioning you can think of, and you just land on your targets face without drawback of any sort. You shouldn't have the ability to do that. Aura of Displacement is balanced because it's an Enchantment, and so it has the drawback, but other shadow steps are so wrong. And why should it matter if it's widely used? If it's broken, it needs to be fixed, no matter how gibber-botting noobs cry about it.

This talk page made me cry. Titani Uth Ertan 20:32, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Titani, you do realize that you just either agreed with me on everything, had no idea what the point I was trying to make was, or just ignored it? Curses are overpowered, you just made that point, whether you meant to or not. Para stacking is gay, exactly as I said, so how did I do that wrong if we came to the same conclusion? Searing Flames is faggotry, again, same conclusion, how is what I said wrong? On the blackout thing, I agree that it is balanced, which is why I said Wail of Doom needs to be similar. Again, same conclusion, how does that make me wrong and you right, if we are saying the same thing? VoR, again, overpowered, we have agreed, how am I wrong? Backbreaker is OP on assassins, again, we have agreed, how am I wrong? I have no idea what you are talking about with Wounding Strike, please clarify. Yes, I noticed why Mind Blast is OP, I made the exact same point you did. I made the same point with Soul Reaping as well. I made the exact same point as you with offensive shadow stepping. I made the same point as you with scythes. You curse and say that I am wrong, then agree with me on almost every single point I have made, I'm confused as to what you're trying to communicate here. -- Tha Reckoning User Tha Reckoning Sig.png 20:45, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
I was writing that to DarkMugen. Titani Uth Ertan 04:08, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Orite. Well, I feel like a jackass now. -- Tha Reckoning User Tha Reckoning Sig.png 14:34, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Suggestion of my own[edit]

Make smaller suggestions. Developers don't want to read all of this at once. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 02:17, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

I didn't want them to have to troll through 50x skill suggestions though, you think it would be better to delete this one and split them all? -- Tha Reckoning User Tha Reckoning Sig.png 02:59, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
If they want to fix a particular skill, they are never going to look for this page for it. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 02:59, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Good point, but I'm about to hit the sack, I'll tackle it in the morning. -- Tha Reckoning User Tha Reckoning Sig.png 03:03, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
