Feedback talk:User/Weindrasi/Guild Wars 2 Female Body Types: Promoting Anorexia

It would be pretty nice if we could have a few more body types for female humans. The character creator is apparently based off of the character creator from Aion, which offered some pretty respectably curvy women (healthy curvy, mind you, which was the best part - not simply overweight, as most games with "curvy" builds seem to do), and I was very surprised to see the lack of such builds in the character creation when I was brainstorming a character who I envisioned with a more thick body type. Of course, it is still only beta, but hopefully ANet bears this in mind when/if they are making more builds. ((Also, don't exclude Sylvari; of course they are supposed to be much more lithe, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be some diversity to their builds.))

This can even apply to the Sylvari. Ever seen a Baobab Tree? Defintely not what one would consider "lithe". Guild Wars 3 perhaps 20:38, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
The more body types the better, but the Promoting Anorexia is claim is dishonest and wrong. None of the body type i have seen in the beta are anorexic. Clearly this user do not understand what anorexia is and what are it's effect. Enough with that political correctness crap. Body diversity also include thinner profile, and we don't see them represented in the game. Also i would like to see male and female body with a bit of belly fat. Tavern brawler role-playing ftw. So can't you adjust body types? Aww, crap! It looked from the videos that there would be body type customization. So I'm stuck with a slutty female character, or a disgusting looking male character. Lovely, just lovely. Lorazcyk 02:01, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the Beta was very limited in its diversity and that the final release will be far more polished. How about them Norn males... Who wants to play one of those.Frakeer
The character creation DOES include body build choices, varying on race and gender. Going though them on the first BWE and the recent Stress test, its my opinion that these complaints are generally unfounded. There are...huskier builds for the women, particularly the norn females. There is an amount of logic to the build choices they have, and adventurer whom runs every where and is constantly fighting something is only going to be so heavy (not the word I really want to use there, but whatever). Some folks are calling for sliders for the body types, but that may require re-making too much for too little gain. There is also the fact that there could be abuse of the sliders, making a freakish build, something Anet has stated that they do NOT wish to allow. Its their game, and they have the right to make that choice. Again, I'll re-iterate that there really isn't anything to be concerned about in my opinion, and I'm a guy that prefers women that are of a more healthier build then the pointed kneed models we all see.--Will Greyhawk 03:01, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
