Fellowship Of The Holy Grail

The Fellowship of the Holy Grail is an order of Knights dedicated to the example set down by our forefathers. Our principle concern is in the slaying of foul beasts and the doing of great deeds. However, if we were once a sufficient number, and if it be for a good cause, we are not above going to war with our fellow man. The primary purpose of this order is for the betterment of young heroes. The neophytes may seek out the wiser, more experienced of our Knights for advice and assistance. There is no greater purpose that this guild wishes to achieve.

The Oath of the Lance

To my Countrymen and to all Christians I make this solemn vow:

I will treat all men with mercy.

I will reason with all fairness.

I will protect the weak and the poor.

I will serve my lord with all humility.

And above all, I will not hesitate to sacrifice my life for another;

Be he poor or rich, peasant or lord.

To God and to His Church I make this solemn vow:

I will always be faithful.

I will always protect the innocent.

I will be a champion of good against evil.

I will always be generous.

And above all, I will always obey God with my thoughts and my actions;

Be it in keeping with my lord’s wishes or no.

To Women I make this solemn vow:

I will always be my lady’s servant.

I will, after her, serve all other ladies.

And above all, I will always be gentle and gracious toward women.

It is not unknown to us that we are strangers in this land. Our ways and our conduct are foreign to natives of these three continents. But we hope, by the grace of God, that this order might be a light in this dark and confused world.

Recruitment

Admission into our guild is open to all freemen. We do not expect all to be highly skilled in the arts of combat, and wish to help cultivate each individual's unique skills. We do not ask that you be Christian (we are aware that worship of the One God is rare in this place). Neither do we ask that you abstain from that abhorrent craft of Necromancy. Let these stains be resolved by God, not by knights. All that we ask is that you affirm the Oath of the Lance. This order is open even to exceptionally brave women, who are guaranteed all of the respect which they are due. Members of our fellowship are expected not only to affirm the code, but to live by it - particularly in the area of reasoning with fairness, serving with humility, and being generous. And so, with these provisions laid before you, do not hesitate to join the Fellowship of the Holy Grail.
