We're a small new English speaking Euro+ guild formed in October 2009 by two real life friends from the UK aged 35 & 43, one a long time player and one playing since the start of the year. We left our last guild & it's alliance for a few reasons. We founded our last alliance as a mature age alliance but over time some of the allies went back on their word and recruited kids. Then they started asking us to censor what we talked about in alliance chat. We were like "wtf! you agreed not to recruit kids, we said it was a mature age alliance" but they were coming out with "we've recruited some minors now so we don't think the AC should contain adult content any more" ..we formed it as a mature alliance to get away from censored child-friendly chat, grrr! Also, the chat traffic died off and when we did try to jump start it by chatting about every day stuff we got sarcasm like "do you really have to recount your life in AC?" ...ok then, we'll just go back to silence o.O The last straw was a decline in helpfulness and a growing cliqueyness in our own guild so we left and formed this guild.
We're laid back, we're not title obsessives or high end elitists - we just like to potter about, do some AB, do some missions, explore, chat and joke. We'll not be doing much in the way of events unless new members or our alliance want to organise them - we've run events before in our previous guilds and just can't be bothered any more lol. We'd like some more members in their 30s or older who are similarly laid back and friendly. We don't mind a bit of swearing but we appreciate decent grammar and no leet speak, caps, spam, all the annoying stuff.
We don't have a guild size in mind but it'll not be beyond medium size if ever that far. We hope to meet players we get on with in game & maybe from the guru recruitment forums, no outpost spamming. We originally intended to get about 10 members then apply to an established well run alliance but we worried about how we'd keep members interested while we grew so in the meantime in mid-October '09 we've joined a small alliance of small guilds after meeting some friendly players in AB. We'll have to see what it's like before we know how long we'll stay, whether we'll still look for a larger well run alliance once we have more members or stop here. Most alliances have rules on swearing and chat content so it's likely we'll keep more adult humour & content to guild chat.
Recruitment
Hmmm. We'd prefer the guild to be players aged 30+ but will make exceptions if we come across younger players who seem to gel with us, share our playing style. We're Euro time zone so mainly seeking English speaking European players but players from the rest of the world are welcome if we get on well with them and they don't mind our time differences. We have rules in place covering the usual stuff - basically don't be a rude impatient scamming asshole and don't be from Sunderland.
