Origins

Sanitarium Six is a guild founded by the character Amilie Daisy, who, together with a group of loyal players, created a guild based on leadership, hierachy and organization. The guild is named after the meetingplace of the players, who originally could not afford their own guildhall. They met often in the Sardelac Sanitarium in Old Ascalon. This is a tradition carried on still by the few remaining original members. Founded as an exclusuve guild, Sanitarium Six has opened its doors to all members, with only very loose membership restrictions, and now boasts a multi-national membership, with members from many countries hanging their collective hats in the Guild Hall. After the events of the September uprising, the Guild has had a second Rennaissance, with numbers reaching levels equal to the peaks of the old days, and a stronger and more cohesive officer class than ever before seen. In recent days, the Guild has taken more of a aristocratic feel, heading up an alliance with four partner Guilds, beginning the conquest of the world of Tyria.

Guild Changes

The guild has gone through a rough patch recently with many members leaving - most notably Day Dawn and Ether Chaos Fiend. Along with this [VI] lost their trusty and long lasting alliance - Nova Orsa - with the likes of Enraged Midget Man and Ruby Rodriguez leaving [VI] again. With the guild down and needing to pick up, Amilie Daisy and co decided to start the open arms scheme again where by anyone suitable could join. The officers now need to deliver and get the guild back up again.

A cry for help!

A message from me - Vedido The Smiter.

What do people in this guild, like best about it? The cape? The people? Well, I came to this guild, at a time where it was nearing the end of it's peak. I met Amilie Daisy in Lions Arch, in search of help for the quest "The Villany of Galrath". She gave me this help, and we managed to complete it in around two hours. At that point, I was just starting out guild wars, with a very small guild which consisted of Sir Jeffry Butnic, Aloeus Grear and I. We were all good mates, but I saw an opportunity to join Amilie Daisy's guild. I didn't know how big it was, with 4 officers and 40 members...I'd never seen a guild this big. I remember being there, feeling a little lonely at first, but then almost, a part of the family. I became known for my "chattiness" and everyone was well aware that I was pretty, opinionated. Still they stuck with me, and I tried my hand at becoming an officer, and arguing at officers, which failed a couple of times. By May, only 4months in since I joined, the guild had deteriorated massivley, with half the number of members, and people becoming inactive and leaving. Yet, I stayed, thinking that things would turn for the better. I liked the people in the guild, Kav Caine for his, jokey sort of mature like attitude, Selena for her, easy laid back approach, even Drizzt for his, cool kid look. I've always had a thing for the guild, that's why when I left I gave away alot of money and presents. I hoped that [AA] would have been a success, but it wasn't. I came back, knowing things wouldn't be the same, and I was surprised when there were many officers. Since then, it's been an up and down period, with things looking up, and then becoming a massive dissapointment. So that is why I wrote this message. I hope we can re-build this guild to it's once former, great self. I want to introduce the "open arms" recruiting scheme, and I want to introduce my friend as an alliance. I hope things, will look to the better.

New alliance

Well respected member of the VI, Day Dawn, who has been a member as well as officer with the Sanitarium for a long time decided she needed a change and left VI to make an alliance guild called the Rising Legions of Black [RLoB]. This took place on the 24th September 2009 and became part of the alliance within a couple of days. The new guild has a different colour scheme (Silver and Black) compared to the usual Purple and Black colours of the other guilds in the alliance. Although this decision for a new alliance hasn't gone down too well with Amilie Daisy, Day Dawn is still confident this will be a success.

Blade Radio Event

On the 5th September 2009 many [VI] and [NO] members took part in a fantastic guild wars event, "DJ Giggle's One Million Gold Giveaway", hosted by Bladeradio and their very own DJ Giggles, with the help of VI leader Amilie Dasiy. It started at 1amPST and lasted 6hours, but the fun had started long before. All participants were required to wear pink, and as everyone arrived there was a sea of pink on top of the tower in Lion's Arch. As DJ Giggles went onto air everyone was in good spirit, and the first giveaway event started...and over the six hours more and more prizes were won in games such as the Scavenger Hunt, Trivia and many more. A special thanks must be given to Amilie Daisy with her efforts that raised the 1million gold that made the event possible. The guild wars community thoroughly enjoyed the event and we hope that Bladeradio hosts another event like this soon.

Alliance Reformation

Between June and August the alliance took a big leap in alliance reformation, starting with the forming of a new and active alliance - the Asura Amateurs [AA], headed by former VI member Vedido the Smiter, and then joined by other VI members Sir Jeffry Butnic, David From Duns, Kleckna Shadowstep and Og The Great. In the first week, they had formed with VI already thanks to the help of Kleckna, and had built a substantial ammount of faction which had raised to nearly 200,000 Kurzick faction. Unfortunately the rise in fame didn't last with the leaving of Kleckna and Og (the guild's main recruiters), to form their own alliance guild - The Citadel Of Assasins [TOCA]. Many followed and soon the guild hit rock bottom with no active members, and two trusty officers. Meanwhile Amilie Daisy, leader of the Sanitarium Six had decided to change the way the alliance was being run. This meant Sanitarium Six would be the "leader" of the alliance, with more officers to help around. "AA" and "TOCA" would be mainly seperate and be "members" of the big alliance, and with this Amilie hoped to get former VI and alliance officer Rebekah Icewraith playing again to resurrect the inactive guild TSOA to be a "police" or "moderator" of the alliance. But as time went on hopes faded and this plan was not enforced. Due to falling recruitment and poor leadership, [AA] collapsed and was disbanded on the 11th of August.

Turn in Fortunes

Since the apparent collapse of the Alliance, there has been a surge in patriotism in the guild, with Amilie Daisy promoting a series of initiatives for membership and expansion. Soon after the dismal failure of [AA], Rebekah Icewraith came out of hibernation to take up a prominent position in [TSOA], now headed by Lady Vera Krotz, a rising star in the alliance. More success followed with the addition of Novus Orsa, [NO] to the alliance, a guild headed by former Sanitarium Six member Enraged Midget Man. Despite problems in the past, Midge, as he is affectionately known is well integrated back into the Sanitarium.

Guild Champions

Recently, a sub-class of officers have sprung up, and these have been termed Champions of the Guild

  • 1st Champion - Gods Little Guardian

Idiosyncrasies

  • The guild has created a small religion, holding the tenets of the guild above all other mortal law, and involving the worship of the Holy Anvil. Unfortunately, due to the shift in Guild Halls, this religion has been converted to a worship of the Holy Furnace.
  • Due to the unfortunate events of the September Uprising, the guild has had to officially declare some exiles, making it the first time that anyone from the guild has ever been banned.
  • The guild has a substantial hold in the minipet market, with multiple members involved in the buying and selling of minipets for profit.

The September Uprising

In September 2008, former members Enraged Midget Man, a player considered to be one of highest members of the guild, conspired with then-officers Lopan and others to corrupt the Guild Tenets. They refused to admit a new member, despite the guilds open arms policy, and then kicked this member in direct opposition to the Leader's Decree after Amilie daisy was forced to step in to accept him. This resulted in the temporary abdication of Amilie Daisy, and her emergency installation of Baron Von Conan in the position of Leader. This proved to be an unwise choice, however, as the Baron allowed Enraged Midget Man to corrupt the Guild, and began his "Restoration". The Restoration consisted of the creation of multiple alliances against the will of former leader Amilie Daisy. After some time, Amilie Daisy returned to find her guild allied to the Kurzick and the Baron as a puppet leader. Amilie Daisy was welcomed back with open arms, and soon began her Purges, with members involved in the Uprising being subjected to a full Court-Martial. It was in this fashion that Enraged Midget Man was disgraced, being stripped of his Officership, and then exiled from the Guild. Members who remained loyal to Enraged Midget Man soon left, including Baron Von Conan, one of the guilds oldest members, leaving Amilie Daisy and Selena Darkwraith as the only founding members remaining.

The Great Purge

On April 25th 2009, Amilie Daisy came to the conclusion that it was time to reorganise the structure of the guild. She had become frustrated with the problems caused by the 'open arms' policy that the guild had taken on, and wanted to know each and every member of her guild, to know what to expect from each member and each officer. So she effected The Great Purge; whereby each member who had either been inactive for a month or more, or was unknown to a majority of the active members, was purged from the guild. This was done in front of several members of the guild as well as some members of The Shadow of Angar, to make sure that everything was acceptable by the members. Problems caused in some apparent exclusions

The Baba Field

One of the more interesting things that came up during The Great Purge was that of the Baba Field, named after Ranger Baba, one of the founding 6 members of Sanitarium Six. Ranger Baba is (aside from Amilie Daisy and Selena Darkwraith) the only remaining founding member of Sanitarium Six, and the leadership decided to enact the Baba Field, whereby no member under the protection of the baba field could lose their officership in the guild, nor be kicked out of the guild. At present, the Baba Field applies to three members:

  • Ranger Baba
  • Selena Darkwraith
  • Azami Coldeyes

Guild Events

Since more members have joined the guild, VI has tried to hold more alliance events that consisted of fighting and prizes. On March 8th, 2009, Sanitarium Six held it's first Alliance tournament. Players from Sanitarium Six, The Shadow of Angar and a number of friends participated, all of whom enjoyed themselves immensly. It is because of the success of this tournament that Sanitarium Six has decided to run more tournaments, with bigger and better prizes, encouraging the members of the guild to organise the tournaments themselves. In April following the success of the first event, seniour members hosted another fighting tournemant that consisted of three 8v8's. Although it didn't work out as planned with no prizes, and some people not showing up, the event went on with the aid of heroes and other friends.

Sanitarium Six Anniversary

Held between the 1st and 8th of August 2009 were the One Year Anniversary celebrations for not only the Guild, but also for two of it's seniour members. Amilie Daisy and Selena Darkwraith both celebrated their birthdays, and the celebrations lasted well into the night.

Association with Blade Radio

Sanitarium Six is a proud supporter of Blade Radio. In particular, the Guild throws its support behind DJ Giggles, a New Zealand DJ new to the radio station. After Giggles gave some help on air to the Guild, we have responded in kind by helping her with contests, raising 100,000 gold for a competition. Amilie Daisy has recently put together one million gold to be given away during DJ Giggles show on the 5th of September, for her special "Million Gold Giveaway" special. Members of Sanitarium Six also created the ads played on Blade Radio.
