The forming of the Aklan republic
The Aklan Republic was formed shortly after the scarcb plague. Surah, a 19 year old girl, escaped from Elona on a corsair ship. She had lost all her family to the plague exept for her her mother, who in despiration and love offered herself to be a slave in exchange for her daughters passage. The corsairs where untruthful however and diposited the refugees on the first island they came across.
With the refugees stranded and alone they began to panick and turn on each other. Stealing what little suplies they had from each other. Tired and hungry Surah left the refugees to make it out on her own, but before she even reached the woods on the edge of the forest she realised she was not alone. Two children, a boy and girl, had followed her from up the beach. She held out a hand, after a few moments hesitation the young girl reached out and grasped Surah's hand, the boy was quick to follow when Surah offered him her other. The trio steped into the forest.
